Hotel Tailored to Workcationers

Team

Harborview is a sophisticated transformation of the existing Sable Hotel on Navy Pier in Chicago, IL. Our goal was to tailor the hotel to workcationers while also allowing guests to escape the rigors of their work day.

This hotel focuses on creating a haven where business travelers discover a place of recharge and recognition. The intent is to curate spaces that seamlessly blend relaxation and interaction while catering to diverse needs. With a priority on well-

being, the aim is to alleviate travel stress and produce a true sense of belonging while on the road, ultimately transforming each stay into a journey of internal and external connections.

During this project we were put into teams that consisted of four interior designers.

Through this team we were able to use our individual styles to create functional and cohesive spaces.

Luxury Vacation Home Individual

Weekend Getaway is a vacation home designed for actor, Erik Stoklin, and actress/performer, Colleen Ballinger, along with their 3 children.

Since their occupations allow them to spend so much time at home, I designed this vacation home to feel like a comforting retreat.

Creating a relaxing environment is key to those who don’t know how to get away.

Having spaces that make you feel safe help to enhance the sense of calmness that we all seek away from our lives. A place that is familiar can evoke the feeling of being content. For a family whose lives are all over the internet, these ideas will help create that sense of a second home.

The theory of interest I chose to explore was biophilia. Through my research I found that plant life around a home can reduce stress and increase comfort, which are concerns for the family.

Creating a large kitchen with lots of storage was an important part of making this home feel like a home away from home. Colleen is an avid baker and is how she often relieves her stress. Erik is also in the kitchen as he is often cooking large dinners while Colleen is working from home or taking care of their children.

Made By Mary is a jewelry company based out of Utah that has transformed from a one woman business into a team of many. With choosing a company that was developed by the founder, Mary, to help her connect with other woman; we wanted to emulate that connection while also providing downtown Ames a newer jewelry store.

Through this project, our goal was to update this retail space and give Made By Mary a new home in Ames, Iowa.

Made By Mary will act as an inviting environment for people to share their life’s chapter. The design will provide comfort through organic forms and a warm feel. Our space will allow connections to form during your personalized experience. It will also give

CHILDREN’S MUSEUM Advertising Renders

The North Iowa Children’s Museum is a new business proposition that was brought to Bergland + Cram in the spring of 2022.

During my time there I was tasked of creating advertising renders of possible future exhibits to aid them in their fundraising efforts.

Using the softwares Revit and Twinmotion, I created a farm to table and forest island adventure scene. These were both ideas given to me by the museum’s board of directors, but designed by me.

Through this project I learned many new technical skills within the software by creating a lot of my own families within Revit and learning a new rendering software.
