THE BOX
By Nathan Maynard and Rob BraslinSet in a fictional housing commission suburb of Bowendale, the story of The Box draws us into the home and family of a single mother Mandy and her two hardened “Bowey boy” sons.
This story is a relentlessly real, daringly comic and profoundly moving theatre experience, uncovering the painful truths and actions that define one family’s existence inside a government experiment.
A complex and compelling family drama, The Box rages at the fragility of our lives, lives balanced on a knife edge, revealing the courage it takes for many to persist and survive, let alone “dream outside the box”.
An explosive new Tasmanian play from the powerhouse union of award winning Palawa artist, Nathan Maynard, and Murri-born, nipaluna-raised artist, Rob Braslin.

PAST THE SHALLOWS
Written by Julian LarnachHarry and Miles live with their father, an abalone diver, on the wild and beautiful south coast of Tasmania. With their father largely absent, they look after each other as best they can. Over a school holiday, while Miles works on the boat, Harry begins an unlikely friendship that will upset the delicate balance holding this unpredictable world together.
Past the Shallows is an ode to brotherhood and a heartwrenching, lyrical exploration of mortality, family secrets and the capacity for both brutality and tenderness within contemporary masculinity.
Acclaimed director Ben Winspear directs a powerhouse cast of three young actors playing multiple roles. Let yourself get swept away on the tide of this compelling and deeply poignant story that will stay with you long after the lights come up.

LA BOHÈME
On a freezing Christmas Eve, love sparks. Two hands meet in the dark and four friends’ lives change forever. Experience the original bohemian love story. When Mimì meets Rodolfo, it’s love at first touch. They head out to bustling Café Momus, where the feisty Musetta and Marcello rekindle their relationship.
Some emotions are too big for words alone, and for that, we have music. La Bohème exposes your soul to the feelings that only music can express. The music soars with the ecstasy of love, crackles with the pain of jealousy and cries with the agony of loss.
This new production breathes fresh life into one of the world’s favourite operas. Award-winning director Dean Bryant brings his trademark wit and vivacity to this new staging, which captures that giddy moment where you and your friends feel you’ll live forever.

IN TAILS
A comedian and an opera singer’s worlds collide
David Hobson and Colin Lane have been friends for 25 years. From vastly different backgrounds, they have observed one another’s worlds and always thought, “Gee, wouldn’t it be nice to have a go at what that other guy does?” So here’s their chance to see whether the grass is a little greener.
It’s a unique and hilarious experiment that promises to enthral and entertain.

Body Body Commodity rattles patriarchal conventions, through dance and live sound. Six celebrated female performers animate a mass of pastel foam objects, blurring the lines between object, body, power and product.
The performers balance on the sharp, serrated line between humorous and harrowing, inviting the audience to connect with the confronting demands society and commerce place on women’s bodies.
