This tale of Persnickety and her colorful new friends celebrates the possibilities of being brave and exploring new flavors.
Even if just one child is inspired to join my girl in her adventure through the colorful worlds of foods, then I consider the mission a great success.

Persnickety Picky
Dedicated to my cautious eater, Milo.
Persnickety wasn’t picky.
Just thought some foods were a tad icky.

And eating new foods was a bit tricky.

... but she wouldn’t go their way.

For it was all a bit scary, which made her quite wary.
So she kept adventure at bay.

parents were
and their push was
But at her own pace she thought. So with resistance she fought.
Never!

But curiosity brewed ... Would it all taste like poo?
The thought made her queasy. It just wasn’t that easy,
to go out and try something new.
But today she would prep to take that first fearless step.
New foods could be And surprisingly
nutritious delicious
she would say with much pep.
From nowhere, twins popped in, danced around, began to sing...

Eggs, cheese, and corn galore
She decided she wanted to explore.
