The Tembo collection 2015

Welcome to The Tembo Collection In 2015 Tembo and Baby of the Month caught the imagination of Mums nationwide.

Over 3,900 babies were entered into the competition, 250,000 votes from friends and family were made, with 7.6 million people across the UK reached on Facebook. £6,000 of Mothercare vouchers were won throughout the year with £5,000 going to the overall Baby of the Year winner, along with many runners-up prizes from our sponsors Sassy Bloom, Snugglebundl and SwimKidz.

Each month, £547 has been received for the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust.

Tembo thanks Emma’s Diary, Mums and Babies, Photographers and Judges, for making it possible for him to raise money for lots of other orphaned elephants!

Andrew Ginger, owner and operator of Barrett & Coe Leighton Buzzard, was a winning photographer in the January and March 2015 Baby of the Month Competition.

Andrew opened his studio in early 2013 and since then has achieved Licentiate Level with the Master Photographers Association (MPA).

Andrew specialises in Baby, Family, Pet and Makeover photography. He says, “I really enjoy baby photography. Even when photographing hundreds of babies every year, each one has their own personality, and making a connection with them is really important to get great results.”

All appointments are 1.5 hours, as Andrew believes this is especially important when photographing babies as it gives time for feeding, changing etc. It also allows for a relaxed shoot with Mum and Dad as well!

The studio has a modern, comfortable and contemporary interior which is perfect when customers gather together for any type of shoot, whether it’s a baby, or right through to a family session. The studio is located in the market town of Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire, just a two-minute walk from the town centre and bus terminal.

There are convenient links to Luton, Dunstable and Milton Keynes, and ample parking right outside the studio. As well as the excellent selection of independent shops in Leighton Buzzard (along with some well-known stores), there are a number of coffee shops and cafés very close to the studio.

David Coleman achieved success as a winning photographer in the January, August and November 2015 Baby of the Month Competition.

David says “I’ve worked for myself most of my working life, but now I’m actually doing something I enjoy! I fell into financial services and although I enjoyed the life we led, seeing more of the world than most, and having countless amazing experiences, I didn’t enjoy the job. Wanting to go to work now as a photographer is a new and refreshing feeling.

I want people to enjoy their time in my studio and my aim is to always make it a fun, pleasant and stress free experience. Photographers are ten a penny. We all use similar equipment in similar surroundings but it’s the photographer and quality of the experience that makes the difference. I don’t take customers for granted and talk to, and treat, everyone as I’d like to be talked to and treated myself.

We are trained that by having a good rapport with clients this will ensure great expressions, resulting in great images. Portraits are about good people wanting beautiful images to cherish and remember. Adrian Bullers was a double winning photographer in August’s Baby of the Month Competition. In total Adrian achieved multiple success in 2015, after photographing winners in January, March, May, July and August!

Adrian specialises in portraits and is an award winning photographer.

Adrian says “I specialise in portrait photography and believe one of the most valuable assets customers come to me for is my time. When you commission a photographer, you should be investing in a service with someone who has also invested, not only in professional equipment, but both time and money, entering awards and gaining qualifications to provide the professional and expert experience you expect from a photo shoot.”

Adrian has always had an interest in photography and took it to a new level over twelve years ago by enrolling on a Barrett & Coe Portrait Course, followed by the Wedding Course. This gave Adrian the grounding to go full-time as a photographer and since then he has built on his skills by studying with many top award-winning photographers and achieving further qualifications and awards himself. Now he has had six entries in the Baby of the Year 2015 Competition!

Adrian specialises in newborn and babies, family and pet portraits, along with other services. Sandra Ford was a winning photographer in the January 2015 Baby of the Month Competition.

Specialising in portrait photography, and a qualified Master Photographer, Sandra Ford is an award-winning professional photographer, who can now add the January 2015 Baby of the Month win to her impressive list of awards.

Sandra had a successful studio for many years before moving to live abroad.

She returned to the UK and reopened her studio in 2004 and says “I feel very privileged to work in a career I feel so passionate about. I approach my work with care and enthusiasm and particularly love photographing babies and children. The developments within the industry, particularly in digital photography, have enabled me to be even more creative within my work.

It is very satisfying to manage the whole process from taking the image to the final album production, and that means I can ensure quality and consistency for my customers.”

Chris Newman was a winning photographer in the February 2015 Baby of the Month Competition.

Barrett & Coe Blandford and Poole is owned and operated by husband and wife photographers Chris and Rai Newman. Established in 2014, this peaceful bespoke studio space is fully equipped for baby, family, and pet portrait photography. Chris and Rai’s goal is to provide stunning images in an informal and relaxing environment, that will be cherished for years to come.

The studio is conveniently located just off the A350 at Charlton Marshall between the Georgian market town of Blandford Forum and the historic maritime town of Poole. While the best results are achieved in the comfort of the studio, a mobile service tailored for Mum and baby shoots is available where travel is impractical.

Both Chris and Rai are Barrett & Coe qualified photographers and have undergone intensive training, which includes the specialist Barrett & Coe Portrait and Wedding courses. They are currently working towards achieving Licentiate status with the Master Photographers Association (MPA).

Chris says “We want you to make the most out of your time with us so we will provide you with information prior to your shoot which will help you to understand exactly what your session and viewing will include. This will also involve giving you a call to talk through the shoot, ensuring you go away with beautiful, relaxed images for all your friends and family to see.”

Alan Schofield, of Alan Schofield Photography, is based in Barnstaple, and covers all of North Devon within a 30-mile radius of the studio.

Alan was one of the five winning photographers in February and August’s competitions and was able to award a £100 Mothercare voucher to the winning babies’ parents.

Alan has run a successful portrait studio for over 30 years and is also a well-respected wedding photographer, having won a number of Fuji national awards for portraits and weddings. Alan works alongside his wife, Helen, and assistant Rachel, and feels that a female presence is a great help when dealing with Mums and babies!

Alan says “I feel very privileged to have the opportunity to photograph babies from newborn through to toddler stage and beyond in our family-friendly studio. Great relationships are formed over the years when siblings come along too and we record the growth of the family over a number of years.

Sometimes the whole family come back so we have a multi-generation shoot.

I’ve even had parents come to me to have their wedding photographs taken!

I believe that more people now want framed photographs on their walls rather than digital images which never get to see the light of day.”

The studio is conveniently located just off the High Street, and there are car parks nearby. Alan can also do location sessions as there are great beaches and countryside within 15 minutes of the studio premises.

Ian Wilson was a four-time winning photographer in the Baby of the Month Competition with winning entries in February, May, October and November 2015.

Ian says, “I’ve been running the Barrett & Coe studio in Reading since 2011.

Photography has been a passion since teenage years when I saved to replace my Kodak Instamatic with a Zenit E SLR! After many years learning the basics with the simplest of cameras, I set up a home darkroom and spent many hours teaching myself developing and printing. After directing professional photographers for over 20 years I took the plunge and opened my own studio.

We have a large, comfortable studio in a quiet location, with lots of parking space.

We always make sure every baby portrait sitting is special and fun, never tire of photographing babies, or forget what a special time it is for every parent as well. A baby portrait session should never be rushed and we take time and care to make sure we capture the very best for each client. Our baby portraits have won many awards over the years and we have quite a few Baby of the Month winners amongst our clients, even winning the Baby of the Year Competition in 2012 which we were delighted about!

2015 was a very exciting year for Baby of the Month, the massive surge in interest and participation lifted the prestige and value of the competition enormously for parents and photographers (and babies!) alike.

Mark’s modern and comfortable studio is based in Sawbridgeworth, Hertfordshire and he specialises in Baby, Family, Pet and Makeover photography.

Baby appointments are 1.5 hours. This allows me enough time to get some good shots without rushing the session as the baby will need feeding, changing and rechanging. My studio is set up for any type of shoot, whether it’s a baby or right through to a family session. There is a separate room for the Make-up Artist when I have a Makeover Session scheduled, along with a changing room for Family and Makeover Sessions. I particularly like it when whole families come back for a photographic session following a baby once they’ve had with me previously.”

The Barrett & Coe Sawbridgeworth studio is based within The Maltings conservation area, opposite Sawbridgeworth Railway Station. It is a short drive from Junction 7 on the M11. Sawbridgeworth Railway Station is on the main line covering Liverpool Street Station to Stanstead Airport and Cambridge.

There is ample parking outside the studio and The Maltings is known for its many antique shops. The River Stort is opposite the The Maltings and is a beautiful walk to Bishops Stortford. You could always tie your session with a day out for the family!

Nathalie Crouch achieved success in the March 2015 Baby of the Month Competition photographing the winning image of Louis.

Having worked for many years as a Picture Editor for various magazines in Munich, including GQ Magazine, photography has always been a passion of Nathalie’s and over the years her work has been published in different magazines, including Daily Mail Ski Magazine and Health and Fitness.

Nathalie returned to England to start a family, and soon became focused on baby and family photography with her studio in Chislehurst, Kent.

Reflections Photography

Nathalie says “It was the birth of my son that inspired me to commit to photography full time, particularly baby photography. I gained my Master Photographers Association Licentiateship in December 2004, and have been running my own studio for 10 years.

I love my work and I spend a lot of time with my clients making sure they feel relaxed and comfortable. My aim is to create beautiful photographs that serve as a wonderful keepsake not only for parents, but also for the babies and children I photograph in later life, you never get that time again and it is priceless.”

The studio in Chislehurst, Kent is a 5-minute walk from Chislehurst Station and Chislehurst Caves. It has off-road parking directly in front of the studio.

Chislehurst is a beautiful leafy suburb of South East London which has retained a village feel, Chislehurst boarders Bromley, Bexley, Greenwich and Sidcup.

He owns and operates Barrett & Coe Norwich, and was formerly a Bodyguard for many years, so you can be assured you are in safe hands with Mark!

Mark says “I love the fact that no two days are the same! I enjoy all my photography sessions and take great pleasure in capturing people’s loved ones in photographs as it is a moment that will never happen again, but can be immortalised in the images. There is nothing like the moment when my customers come in and see the images I have taken for the first time; the emotions that are displayed give me a great deal of satisfaction in a job well done. You only get out of anything what you put into it, and taking images of babies and children, families and pets is an enjoyable way to spend a working day!”

His studio is based in Norwich, not far from the Norwich City Football ground!

The city and surrounding areas offers lots of different things to do including Norwich Castle, the Broads, good shopping, so if you are coming from out of the area there is a great opportunity to make a day of it. It is close to Norwich Rail Station and has good bus routes. The studio is modern and comfortable with parking at the rear of the building.

Anne Wills of Barrett & Coe Essex, which is owned and operated by Peter Evans, achieved double success in the competition as a winning photographer in April and September 2015.

Anne tells us “My enjoyment of photography began at college when I was introduced to developing film, and darkrooms. From there, it progressed to university level and then to my working life as a portrait photographer.

Previously, it had always been a keen interest of mine and I developed my skills a great deal further during my 18-month gap year when I travelled – and experienced some of my most memorable moments!

I enjoy baby photography most when working in the studio, although every session – whether it’s babies, families or pets – is great fun! No two babies are ever the same which makes each shoot interesting and enjoyable. Situated in converted barns, the studio is modern and comfortable and is located in the small village of Coggeshall, just off the main road between Colchester and Braintree. The village boasts some lovely antique shops, cafés, and a garden centre close by and with Colchester Zoo not far away, it makes a lovely day out, particularly if whole families come back for a photo experience.

Doug Brown and Sheila Mann of Style Photography have a studio in Herne Bay, Kent. They achieved success with their winning images in the April and December 2015 competition.

Both have been photographing professionally for over 20 years bringing past artistic experience to the business; Sheila as florist and make-up artist and Doug who had previously worked in graphic design and printing.

Initially, Doug and Sheila were purely wedding photographers until about sixteen years ago when they purchased a lovely Victorian house which they converted to a studio enabling them to branch out into portrait photography.

Doug comments “The building has an area for reception, and a studio, office, make-up room, lounge/gallery for viewing, bedroom and lounge set for boudoir photography shoots and a framing work room.

Since opening 16 years ago Doug and Sheila have established a successful, growing portrait business and receive clients from far and wide. There have been a number of successes with awards including UK Family Portrait Photographer of the Year, Kodak Portrait Photographer of the Year, and SE Master Fashion Photographer of the Year. Now they have April and December 2015 Baby of the Month wins to add to the list!

Sheila says; “We love the diverse range of photography from clients who come into the studio wanting types of images including maternity, newborn, babies, children, families, makeover, boudoir, couples and weddings. Dermot Murphy was one of five winning photographers in the April 2015 Baby of the Month Competition.

Dermot has been taking photographs as long as he can remember but it was not until the birth of his fourth child that he decided that life was too short to work because you had to, and broke the news that he was going full time as a photographer.

The business is family owned and operated and dedicated to serving the needs of all its customers. Dermot’s wife Catherine is known as “The Baby Whisperer” and is a natural with babies, so they make a great team. They have gained the reputation as being one of the top newborn photographers in the country, culminating in Dermot winning Northern Ireland Photographer of the Year in 2013.

“Babies are our passion.” says Dermot. ”How many people can honestly say that they love what they do? We are happiest when we see the reaction on a mother’s face when we have captured the essence of what makes that baby her baby! They most definitely don’t look all the same to me!”

Jeff Cowan, owner and operator of Barrett & Coe Reigate was a winning photographer in April and had a double win in June 2015!

After some 30 years as a Business Consultant in a range of industries, Jeff decided he wanted to pursue something that he’d always had a passion for – photography. Jeff found the perfect opportunity to run his own business with a Barrett & Coe Photography Franchise. Having initially travelled to clients’ homes 3 or 4 days a week, he has now opened his own studio in Reigate.

“I thoroughly enjoy my work as a photographer, getting out and about, meeting a tremendous range of people, and enjoying the ooh’s and aah’s of parents and other family members when they see the results.

Having the studio will be great, but I am also mobile which is great for families who may prefer to have their photographs taken in their home or garden; or maybe a favourite park, so I am very happy to work in these types of locations as well. They are good environments for natural, relaxed portraits and great if you want to include the family dog or any other pet at the same time!”

Mark Swinford, of Mark Swinford Photography, has a studio based 5 miles north of Leeds City Centre in a village called Horsforth. The studio has been established for over 25 years and is family run by Mark and his wife Tracy, along with a small dynamic team of eight staff.

Mark’s work was selected to be displayed on the TV programme “One Born Every Minute” when it was filmed in Leeds. The well-equipped studios are air-conditioned and easily accessible via public transport and by car, with off street parking adjacent to the studio building.

Mark has been a photographer since leaving school. He started his career in Medical photography and also with one of the leading portrait and wedding photographers in the county, training and then moving onto being a fully qualified photographer. He now specialises in portrait photography after moving from the South of England to the North. Marisa Taylor, owner and operator of Barrett & Coe Bath & Somerset, was a winning photographer in the July 2015 Baby of the Month Competition. Marisa opened her studio in 2007 and since then has achieved Licentiate Level with the Master Photographers Association (MPA).

Marisa’s studio is located in the town of Midsomer Norton, near Bath, and allows Marisa to photograph large families. There is a dressing room, along with two bathrooms and a separate kitchen for those all-important cups of tea and warming baby bottles! Located in a quiet part of a trading estate with free parking outside, there are local bus services from most nearby towns and the bus stop is a three minute walk from the studio. The studio is all on the ground floor with full access to all areas.

There are lots of things you can combine with visiting Marisa for a baby or family photography experience. Nearby are several pubs and cafés serving breakfast, lunch and dinner depending on time of day! She is about 15 minutes south of Bath with its world famous Roman Baths, 15 minutes from Wells (Wells Cathedral) and 30 minutes south east of Bristol. There are three large indoor soft play parks within about 5 minutes of the studio and numerous outdoor parks including Radstock, which caters for all children aged 0-13. “Both Theo and Jack were great to photograph. Theo was quite a character, and Jack, who was only 27 days old at the time, slept all the way through! I’m thrilled that they were both winners in the competition.”

Linda, who is in partnership with her daughter, running Images by Leanne, has been taking photographs for over twenty years. Leanne began accompanying her mother on wedding shoots from the age of 16 years, so both have a wealth of experience between them.

2015 Baby of the Year Competition Winner Teddie Morgan is the winner of the prestigious 2015 Tembo Baby of the Year Competition. The stunning image of Teddie was taken by Doug Brown and Sheila Mann, of Style Photography in Herne Bay, Kent.

Teddie’s image caught the imagination of the public and this was matched by the Tembo Baby of the Year judges, who included a panel of five mums, five professional photographers and five judges from our competition sponsors.

Speaking after the winner had been selected, Doug told us “We are delighted that Teddie’s image has won 2015 Tembo Baby of the Year Competition coming so soon after his win in December!

We were very excited to have two of our images in the final (having won early in 2015) and now one of them has been chosen as the overall winner and has won the £5000 prize. We are thrilled!”

This is probably the biggest and most hotly contested baby competition in the UK, with so many excellent professional photographers entering each month.

To take the winning image overall is a great achievement.”

We were amazed at the images Doug captured during the session; there were so many great shots it was difficult to choose which one to enter into the competition!”

When asked about the photography session with Teddie, Doug told us “Teddie was a great subject, we got lots of smiles out of him during several set and outfit changes. But it was towards the end that we got the winning shot after exhausting all our smile-inducing tricks, Teddie just sat and gave us a really cute look from his award winning repertoire!”

Hi, I’m Andrea, I’m 26 years old and currently on maternity leave, soon to be returning to work as an Administrator for Specialist Cars BMW. I am the mother of 2 beautiful children, 3-year old George and 6 month old Ellie.

Hi, I’m Patricia, the proud Mum of our little princess Mell. I’m very excited to be part of this judging panel of Mums for the Baby of the Month Competition. I’m 23 years old and Mell is my first child. She was 2 months and 3 weeks old when we had the photo session and I was very nervous and afraid that it wouldn’t go that well, but it turned out beautifully.

Hi, my name is Zoë and I’m Mummy to Henry who is just 4 months old.

My best tip I can give to anyone taking a small baby for a photo session is to get the baby as comfortable as you can. Also, bring the baby’s favourite toy that they love the most.

I was thrilled to be asked to be a judge for the Baby of the Month Competition as I had such a good experience at Henry’s own shoot with Adrian Bullers – we were so pleased when his picture of Henry was a winner back in July.

I’m delighted to be one of the Judges for the Baby of the Month Competition as it gave us all so much happiness when the picture of my daughter Ellie by Baron Bratby, of Immortaleye Photography won the December 2014 Baby of the Month, and then went on to win the 2014 Baby of the Year! We were so pleased Baron was participating in the competition or we wouldn’t have had that chance.

I don’t think there’s ever a best time for taking a photo of a baby, as mostly they make the demands! But being in a comfortable environment certainly helps and making sure they’re not either too full up, or too hungry!

We loved the experience and the excitement of the competition! We never thought of winning, especially against all of those other beautiful babies! We are very proud that she won; she has a beautiful smile and she had an early Christmas present thanks to Baby of the Month!

I’m currently on maternity leave from my job as Manager of a Children’s Day nursery. I’m enjoying every minute being at home with Henry and am finding it’s going far too quickly! Luckily Henry will be coming to work with me when I return which is perfect!

My tips when taking your baby to a photography session would be – just relax and go with the flow, a good photographer will put you and the baby at ease and work around feeds etc. Shoots can vary in time depending on the child so be prepared and pack a full bag!

Hi, my name is Charlotte and I am Mum to Chloe, who won Baby of the Month in June 2015.

Hi, I’m Laura. I am 32 years old and a stay at home Mum to my 3 beautiful girls; 5 year old Amara, 2 year old Nyla and 8 month old Blossom. I’m very lucky and love every minute I spend with these lovely girlies!

I wanted to be a judge because I was interested in seeing how the judging process was structured, and wanted to see what happened “backstage” and be involved with the competition. I have one daughter, Chloe, and stopped working for a year when Chloe was born. I work in Sales for the telecom industry and am looking forward to going back to work as I feel it is the right time for both Chloe and I. We had a lovely time for our Baby of the Month shoot with Elmcroft Studios. Alison and Steve are lovely people who immediately make you feel at home. They are experienced photographers and know how to get a good shot whilst keeping baby amused at the same time; they have all sorts of eye catching items and rituals that amuses baby! Timing is also key – I made sure I picked a time that worked for Chloe that wasn’t during a nap time!

Their daddy is VERY outnumbered but he wouldn’t have it any other way. I was so excited and honoured to be asked to be a judge for the Baby of the Month Competition; it was so lovely looking at all the gorgeous babies!

Blossom has recently had her second picture taken at Alan Schofield Photography and it was a lovely experience as always, Alan and Helen are so friendly and brilliant with the children.

I would say to everyone to have this experience with your child, go to a photographer whose style you like and build a relationship with them – they will always get the best out of your child in the resulting photographs!

My name is Sandra and I am a professional photographer. I put myself forward as a judge as I love babies and enjoy seeing the entries; it is nice to be involved in the decision making process.

Currently I run a high street studio with 4 staff and we specialise mostly in Newborn, Baby and Family photography.

I have a great deal of experience, not only in baby photography but also with weddings, PR/commercial work in London and around the UK.

Hi I’m Peter and I really love to help judge the Baby of the Month Competition to see what other photographers are doing, and to be inspired by new ideas. I am also keen to help maintain the high standard by being part of this exciting initiative.

I am pleased to be on the judging panel for Baby of the Month because I like to contribute and be part of this exciting time for Mums and their babies.

What an honour it is to be selected as a Baby of the Month judge!

The calibre and standard of photography is so high I know this is going to be a tough job!

Being a photographer and capturing the baby’s first year is something I really enjoy. There is such a variety of images in the first year; the first smile, sitting up, crawling etc. It is a privilege and joy to capture.

I run a busy family portrait studio in Brighton and have a team of photographers here who work with, well anything you can imagine!

We love photographing Maternity to Newborn, Little Angels to Little Monsters! As a qualified member of the Master Photographers Association your photography session couldn’t be in better hands than with us!

The best thing about being a photographer is that I can get up each morning and not even feel like I am going to work; it is a way of life for me and I love my job. A couple of hints for mums who are thinking of booking a photo session – book your session for when your baby is at their best, rather than when it is most convenient for you.

A happy and comfortable baby will result in much better pictures.

I would also say that if you prefer to have your baby dressed in outfits rather than naked in their photographs; keep the outfits very simple. Frills or fancy outfits tend to distract attention away from your baby’s beautiful features.

I love photographing babies.

I believe success with babies is all about self-confidence and being very aware how Mum feels in the studio; a baby’s mood is often very closely linked to mum’s!

It is also hugely important to time a session around sleeping and feeding patterns and not to rush a session.

Mums need to make sure that they speak to the photographers and understand what they need to bring to the session and how to prepare in order to make it easy on everyone involved! It’s best to work to the babies’ so that you get the best from the time that you are there.

I always allow plenty of time in the studio! Babies need feeding and changing and you cannot rush a baby in their portrait session, they need to be happy and content!

A hint for any mum having a photography session with her baby: Babies are always hungry, especially when visiting a studio and if their routine has changed. Make sure you bring a spare bottle!

We just love photographing people, especially little people, so it is a privilege to be working with Baby of the Month along with many other baby photographers in the UK who are entering the competition! It’s really great for our customers and a buzz if you win – I should know, I won it in April 2014!

The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust (DSWT) is a conservation charity that has worked in Kenya for over 35 years. Every day, the teams strive to safeguard and protect all of Kenya’s diverse wildlife and habitats against human-wildlife conflict, poaching and habitat destruction.

Best known for their pioneering work to rescue and reintegrate orphan elephants back into the wild, the DSWT have successfully rescued and hand reared more than 190 orphaned elephants and 14 black rhinos, with many living back in the wild.

Their live saving work is reliant entirely on donations and the charity operates with minimal administrative overheads, allowing more funds to be used in the field where they are needed.

Genesis Research Trust

Emma’s Diary

Genesis Research Trust raises money for the largest UK-based collection of scientists and clinicians who are researching the causes and cures for conditions affecting the health of women and babies.

Emma’s Diary is published in association with The Royal College of General Practitioners and is distributed via GP surgeries across the UK. It is one of the most effective channels to reach pregnant women and new mums at a critical decision making stage in their lives.

The objectives of the Trust are to provide financial assistance for medical research and teaching in the field of gynaecology, obstetrics and related fields in paediatrics. Advances in the wellbeing of women and babies can only be achieved by research into the disorders which can affect anyone.

Our primary aim is to improve the health of the unborn child and its mother.

2015 Baby of the Year Judging Terms and Conditions Voting in the Competition

Baby of the Year 2015 Competition prize and notification

Facebook users were asked to ‘Like’ their favourite image of their choice.

Multiple likes on the same image from an individual Facebook account are not possible. The baby with the most ‘Likes’ received 10 points, with the amount of points decreasing to 1 point for the 10th most liked baby.

The winning baby for the Baby of the Year Competition 2015 will receive a cheque for £5,000, made payable to the baby for investment into their future.

In order to protect mums and babies, and to make the Competition as fair as possible (whilst still making it accessible to the public to vote for and appreciate professional photography of some beautiful babies!), any image which we suspected had received Likes from artificial sources, such as forum pages, fan pages or ‘Paid for Likes’, had their total Likes in the Competition capped at 500.

A panel of 15 judges (consisting of 5 mums, 5 professional photographers and 5 Competition sponsors - including Sassy Bloom, Snugglebundl and SwimKidz) each chose their top 10 images, rating them from 10 points to 1 point.

Baby of the Month Limited reserve the right, in the event of circumstances arising outside of our control, which in our opinion makes it necessary, to cancel or change the Baby of the Year 2015 Competition at any stage.

The decisions of the judging panel in the Baby of the Year 2015 Competition are final and no correspondence will be entered into.

The Baby of the Year 2015 Competition is administered by Baby of the Month Limited.

The results from all four groups of judges (Facebook, Mums, Photographers, Sponsors) were combined to determine the Baby of the Year 2015 winner.

Only babies who had been a Baby of the Month winner during 2015 were eligible for entry into the Baby of the Year 2015 Competition.

Facebook Likes from previous wins in 2015 did not count when compiling the scoring for the winner of Baby of the Year 2015 Competition.

Babies who were a Baby of the Month runner-up during 2015 were not eligible for entry into the Baby of the Year 2015 Competition.
