Low-cost Residential Complex with focus on social interactions Term:

Economic hardships have led to a rapid population growth in the country and a mass migration from rural to urban areas. This

demographic shift poses many challenges for infrastructure, housing and social life at different scales. To address these needs, a low-cost residential complex with flexible and expandable spaces that foster social interactions was designed.

ain Idea

This method which is inspired by PPVC, involves making separate concrete plates (including walls, roofs and floors) in a factory and then transporting them to the construction site.

These plates have dimensions of 300*500*350mm and offer several advantages: 1- Can be easily transferred by trailers based on their size with low cost.

2- Can reduce the construction time significantly, which is crucial in the current economic crisis of Iran with an inflation rate of over 50%.

3- Can be assembled and then be attached to ( expandable spaces) in previously built buildings to create more space for the families who want to expand their living area according to their family size.

Site Designing based on Social Interactions

The site plan aims to foster social interactions among the complex residents with varying degrees of privacy and openness by including four types of spaces which are shown below.

Zone 1: The first level is a space between each apartment unit Zone 2: The second level is a space between every 2 or 3 buildings Zone 3: The third level is a space for the whole complex community

Political upheavals over the centuries have destroyed some of the historical Iranian gardens that were valuable. This project aims to restore and transform a ruined garden on Hafez Avenue into a cultural complex that reflects the principlesof Iranian gardens and environmental psychology. These include creating semi-enclosed and central spaces with water features.

Adaptation

Here are the main volume formation steps. At first, by adapting the geometry of the nearby

historical sites, the main mass was divided into 4 parts. Then the activities were classified into 4

categories and each category was assigned to a part of the mass. After changing the roof forms, the final shape was obtained.

The efficiency of the pupils during their education can be significantly affected by emotional stress. In the first semester of the architectural design1class, surveys were conducted on different students in different schools to examine this issue. The project involved designing an educational complex that consists of an elementary school, a middle school and a high school.

The design aimed to reduce stress and increase efficiency of the students by providing adequate space per capita, green space and separate yards for each school with different levels of privacy. The project also followed the relevant standards and improved the quality of the spaces.

Iran is experiencing the worst drought in its history, which has depleted its dams and forced it to rely heavily on fossil fuels for electricity and economic activities. To address this problem, alternative energy sources are needed, such as renewable energy sources, solar panels, wind power and other innovative solutions. The project proposed a renewable energy center that would fulfill these needs. The research center will also have the capacity to produce electricity for the nearby towns.
