Dystopian Literature

Second Deliverable

1. Compare Compare the book to our reality, How do they relate?

We have always longed for “peace” in the reality in which we live, to be able to live in a calm way and without conflicts with other people, to be able to be equal and that no one has more than others. This has been mentioned in the first chapter of the book, people live in “community”, they are all completely the same and there isn’t difference, everyone lives their lives quietly and without worrying about differences. All this is possible thanks to the fact that the ancestors of these people paid a very high price, they decide to lose their memories in order to obtain that equality, it doesn’t matter if the memories are painful or not that was the path they wanted to take.

2. Extract Extract the similarities and possible characters you might want to use in your own world. ●

The antagonist named Denzel shares with the giver the ability to save for themselves things like memories or emotions.

The protagonist George is a curious person like Jonas was in the book, both of them search answers to their reality.

Both protagonists live in “perfect” societies that have a lot of rules.

a.Which character are you going to have? ● ● ● ● ● ● ●

George the protagonist. Denzel the antagonist. James is George’s friend. Grace is George’s friend. Greg is the one raised George. Rosita is Denzel's secretary. Bryce is George’s jealous friend

3. Create

b. How is Your world a dystopian one? b. Because our world is a ideal one but with a lot of restrictions, people don’t have emotions since they are born because they are taken away; the society is ruled by a single man who holds great power and hides for himself the truth, they are under a lot of rules and if they are broken there is a public punishment.

4. Describe a.How are you going to show your world to the public?

a. We would make a book that will show different aspects like social hierarchies where there is a government regime; the different punishments for breaking rules but a lot of benefits if you follow them, also the characters along with their roles and their point of view will make us think and reflect about this “perfect world.

4. Describe b.How are you going to interact with the public? (Infomercial, awards, book club, casting

b.We will make infographics or posters that attract readers and through digital marketing with book’s influencers to recommend it to their subscribers, also we will make a book club where the people are reading along by paragraphs with the link that we are going to share and by the end of a page we will ask them some questions so that way they are paying attention and being interested..
