fter spending almost 8 years at Westover Road, Braunstone Town, much admired Funeral Director Paul Pender and Son are moving to a new larger premises with much more to offer to assist bereaved families. Paul’s new site is the former Shakespeare Pub and will feature three chapels of rest with one larger chapel which will be suitable for providing on-site personal funeral services. In addition to this, Paul will be offering in house wakes for those smaller congregations whereby sandwiches, cakes, tea, coffee and refreshments will be served from the bar area. Paul explained to the Alert Team just how he has created an all inclusive service having access to the well established Buds Floral Designs and access to a Stone Mason which will assist bereaved families and help them ease the burden of a loss. Extensive work has gone into carefully restoring the former farm house that was built back in 1655 maintaining its historic charm. Paul said “I didn’t want to change the place, I just wanted to put it back to how it was repairing its original features and replacing new for original as it would have been back then”. The grade II listed building has been a shadow of its former self for many years but has now found a new lease of life being beautifully restored to its former glory by Paul Pender and his Son, Jack. Paul has now made the Shakespeare his home. The new Paul Pender and Son funeral home is looking to open in late August although, local families are already requesting that their loved ones leave from the new premises as they make their final journey. To mark the launch of the new premises Paul, his son Jack and the dedicated team at Paul Pender and Son would like to invite the community to take a look around the funeral home during an open week commencing on the 21st August 2017. This will give you the opportunity to explore the new Shakespeare site and the many services available.
