Inferior vena cava

The inferior vena cava carries blood from the legs, feet, abdominal organs, and pelvis. It is formed by the union of the left and right primitive iliac veins. It also anastomoses with the azygous vein system, which runs down the right side of the spinal column, and the venous plexuses along the spinal cord. carries deoxygenated blood from the lower body to the right atrium. The right atrium receives deoxygenated blood from the body through the superior vena cava and the inferior vena cava. it is a system that collects blood from the brachiocephalic trunks.
