Open house to artistic creation: meeting with the processes

On September 16, Thursday, Azkuna Zentroa reopens its doors to artistic creation in a day in which the audience can share and experiment with the artists who are currently developing their projects through the different programmes to support artistic creation. More than thirty creators are associated to the Centre through various initiatives that promote research, creation and production around the following programme lines: live arts, digital cultures, cinema and audiovisuals, literature and the visual arts, bringing them closer to the audience, either through the work done or through creative processes. This year's Open house highlights the presentation of the projects of artists who have worked in recent months within the framework of Babestu. Extraordinary Call to Support Contemporary Creation, inaugurated in 2020 to favour the development of processes and research that have been affected by the Covid-19 crisis. They are Irati Inoriza, Maider Aldasoro, Karlos Martinez and Iker Vázquez, who will show their work until October 10 in different spaces throughout the Centre. Babestu residents are also Miriam Isasi and Borja Crespo & Raquel Meyers, who open the doors to their spaces at the Mediateka BBK on September 16 to present and share their creative processes. The associated artists and researchers with Azkuna Zentroa, Isabel de Naverán, Laida Lertxundi and Aimar Arriola will show their work in progress during the Conference in their spaces in Lantegia. Polaroiska (Alaitz Arenzana & María Ibarretxe), Azkuna Zentroa associated artists, will guide a new session of their project Consejo de sabias with a last session of this cycle of meetings with older women and professionals from different fields, which they have been developing since 2019. In the field of experimental music and within the framework of Hotsetan, the experimental sound and music programme, the Trio Zukan (Maria Zubimendi, Gorka Catediano & Jon Ansorena) will share with the audience an endless world of new combinations of timbre, extreme dynamic range and possible polyphony of all instruments. The day will conclude with the #Kinu5 of the Tractora artist cooperative within the framework of the Resident Collectives Programme. Promoted by Ainara Elgoibarrek and Usue Alberdik, Kinu is a self-training tool in which to share creative experiences and, through them, open spaces for the production and training of local agents attending to their needs and desires.
