AZKA AL ATHAR,In this first project of Design Studio 3, we were challanged to create a Public Toilet design using a waste materials so it can reducing the uses of factory built or industrilized materials, so we have to create our own materials with Eco-Friendly concept. This first project i called it "De Bouteille" (french) in english it means "of bottle", im choosing waste glass bottle to be my materials combined with recycled plywood.
Eco-Friendly is the main goals for this design. The reason im choosing Waste Glass Bottle beacue, glass bottle usually will be destroyed or reused by some company, but there still so much of glass bottle that just left and become a trash/waste, and glass material is a material that cannot decompose with soil, so it will helps to reducing the waste glass bottle, with the total of glass bottle that will be applied in this design (2300+ glass bottle) and it will be replaced with the good condition waste glass bottle to make it looks nicer, and more safety due to the ageing of the glass bottle.
Not just the materials, but we also need to think about the standards of the toilets, creating the comfort feeling for the users, fulfill the needs of the user, the human movement spaces, the human behavior, aesthetic design, privacy of the room for the users, creating a good air circulation, create a design that can using natural light as lighting to reduce the usage of electricity, and also how can we make the watery system that can reduce the over usage of water.
Before we creating this project, we study all about the problems or issues above, so we know how to solve or the solution for all those problems.

The second option was using glass bottle with concrete but it reducing the aesthetic of the glass bottle it self.
The final option is using a glass bottles combined with recycled plywood, and it becomes my chosen material. It creates the bottle looks more aesthetic, and eco friendly (because it is recycled plywood, not wood planks that are taken directly from the tree and need to be processed).
