Jennifer Garnica University of Arizona jgarnica@email.arizona.edu

JENNIFER GARNICA was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona and is an upcoming third year student at the University of Arizona, she is majoring in Nutritional Sciences and minoring in Spanish. Jennifer hopes to earn admission to medical school and become a primary physician to help and serve the underserved Spanish speaking community. Jennifer volunteers at a refugee center as an interpreter, which has allowed her to see firsthand the relief that rushes through Spanish-speakers when they encounter someone who can communicate and understand them. Jennifer hopes to use her bilingual skills to overcome the negative impacts that language barriers have on the quality of healthcare. When Jennifer is not volunteering, shadowing, or studying, she likes to embroider, binge watch criminal minds, and hang out with friends.

Project UNDERSTANDING THE PRIMARY PERITONEAL CANCER AND PERITONEAL METASTASIS FROM OVARIAN CANCER USING ADVANCED MAGNETIC RESONANCE IMAGING

This study aimed to review MR diagnosis by reviewing MR imaging findings of patients with serous peritoneal tumors. Primary peritoneal serous carcinoma (PPSC) is an ovarian epithelial malignant that arises from extra-ovarian mesothelium. PPSC can be a difficult diagnosis to make and imaging features at CT are subtle and nonspecific. MRI allows for accurate diagnosis due to its high sensitivity for detecting peritoneal disease and its high specificity in excluding an intra-abdominal primary lesion.
