The site is located in a remote area near the forest and Jalan Sungai Pusu, which is a few meters to the west. The Kampung Sungai Pusu community frequent ly uses the route to access the commercial area. The noise of passing vehicles on the road will disrupt the peace of the children. Moreover, due to its remote location, there is an area that is not enclosed by forest, causing the wind to blow from the southwest. Positive views of the forest and mountains The site is away from busy surroundings that may cause extreme disruption to the children

Planting buffer trees around the site would reduce the noise .Creeper plants serve as a shad ing device. Meanwhile, installing louvered walls also doubles as a shade and improves the privacy of the users.

The majority of children with Autism and ADHD are sensitive to sound. Some might be hyperacusis, misophonia, or hyper sensitivity. Hyperacusis causes physical pain to these children. 40dB and above is considered overwhelming and loud. Normal conversation takes place around 50dB. Misophonia is an intense or violent emotional reaction towards triggering sounds (eg. honks & reviving). Other than that, some Autistic children might get affected by bright lights and sunshine which disturb them and often cause distortions.

CONCLUSION To summarize, it has been our greatest honor to be able to participate in this project as it allows us to devote our time, energy, effort, and creativity to designing for the IIUM communi ty. We have learned how to work as a team by communicating our different approaches and how we can all compromise for a smooth master plan and design in order to ensure the project’s success. Furthermore, we essentially learned how to adjust, communicate, and re spect our various working styles and individ ualities. Not to mention, we learned a lot from each other; as a result, we managed to im prove ourselves in many ways, particularly in terms of timeliness and work quality. This project also taught us that great design ers should always be able to incorporate an inclusive approach into their designs in order to support the full range of human diversity, including those with special needs. It is vital to recognize that inclusivity is crucial in design because it provides new insights into how we interact with the built environment. Having said that, despite all of the hard work, we thoroughly enjoy the process of making this project a success. We sincerely hope that our design will be able to provide a welcoming and inclusive environment for the target us ers, allowing them to live a more fulfilling life. Not only that, but we hope that this project achieves its intended goal of establishing this IIUM Community-based Rehabilitation Center as a living lab for the IIUM community in order to serve children with special needs.
