01 Uplifting Urban spaces for street children and skill development Centre TYPE – Recreational/ Educational

Children are the important part of the society and they are the future of the country too.

Children are on street due to many reasons such as family breakdown, low income, unplanned migration, etc. Therefore, the proposal is to Uplift the urban spaces along with its various elements like building, streets, public spaces, landscape, etc. for children’s physical, emotional, psychological, social, mental development.

The Centre will also help in the development of the community children. By providing them a nurturing and developmental environment.

Provide therapy, nursing and learning experiences for each child.

The site is situated in Vishwas Nagar, Shahdara, Delhi.

Area - 4316 sq.m and 1km stretch.

Figure ground – 28% is open area and 72% is solid area.

The aim of the project is to architecturally enhance the optimal development of children by improving the urban spaces and designing a centre to impart training and skill upgradation of youth geared toward their efforts to attain self-reliance, improve the quality of their lives and thereby enhance their contribution to the development of the country.

The missing element of a child’s development in a modern city is chiefly a functioning neighbourhood.

To create the experience of street play and prioritize the reduction of gizmos and screen time. A creative place where multi-disciplinary activity always held and children can groom themselves by different activities.

Constructing a barrier free environment by designing a space for interaction between street children and society, through physical tangible and intangible aspects of design and with proper flow of spaces from public to semi-public to private spaces.

02 REVITALISING THE YAMUNA RIVERFRONT TYPE – Recreational/ commercial “Creating a self-sustaining community that fosters the cultural, social and environmental needs of the community.”

The site is situated on the bank of river Yamuna, Itmad-Ud-Daulah, Agra. The site began form Chini ka Raouza in the north to Itmad-Ud-Daulah in the south with Chauburji in the west. The site has a long and interesting history. Over five Mughal monuments are found here with two Mughal gardens. Chauburji, Babri Masjid, Itmad-Ud-Daulah, Sultan Parvez mousoleum, Kala Gumbad and Chini ka Rauza are all located here.

On the site, there are so many kinds of values. By use of such a typology – a framework that breaks down significance into constituent kinds of heritage value.

As the interaction of people with each other and their relationship with the place is an important factor in identity so their festivals are also significant which are kind of intangible heritage and much the criteria of community-based for intangible heritage. By promoting skill learning to the residents to help them lead a better life. Reviving the lost paradise with the help of these residents

AIM

The aim of the project is To develop inclusive public spaces by creating active and walkable city streets considering the tangible and intangible aspects of the spaces. Other aim is to avoid chaos and differentiate between the movement. To achieve that the road

will be divide in different patterns to differentiate the road and to make the road more attractive for the users.
