TENANT’S NEWSLETTER SUMMER 2016 NEWTON PRIMARY SCHOOL SCOTTISH POETRY COMPETITION AWARD CEREMONY Ayrshire Housing recently volunteered to help judge Newton Primary School’s Poetry Competition. On the 27th June an award ceremony was held to present the winners with a certificate of recognition and a book. Our staff were delighted to be asked to present the prizes. The winners were, Kayden McLean, Ben Cole, Rhiannon Adams, Analise Melvin, Jayden Wedlock, Sophie Robertson, Dharyn-lee Hutchison and Armani Fulton. Overall winner was Kayden McLean. Congratulations to all the winners!
REPAIRS CONTRACT 2016 The Reactive Maintenance contract which covers most of the day to day repairs to our houses expired in May of this year. Following submission of pre-qualification questionnaires, five contractors were invited to submit tenders in consideration of the new contract which had been advertised. Subsequently two contractors submitted tenders for the contract. These were assessed taking into account both price and quality. Our consultant Quantity Surveyors, Ewing Sommerville Partnership, assisted us with the assessment process. We are pleased to report that the tender submitted by JD Thomson & Son, Property Care Ltd. was recommended for acceptance on the basis that it represented the best overall value. The new contract started on 1 July 2016 and will run until 30 June 2019. We hope that the current high satisfaction and positive feedback we receive from tenants regarding this contractor continues. They are very keen to continue to work in partnership with us and to continue to develop effective and responsive repairs services for our tenants.
