Nestled amidst the stunning Spiti Valley in Himachal Pradesh, the Key Monastery, also known as Kee Gompa, is the largest monastery in the region. Founded in the 11th century, it is a prominent center for Buddhist learning and houses a collection of ancient murals, thangkas (painted scrolls), and manuscripts.

Details and measurements were taken of the separate houses of the buddhist monks which were located on an extreme slope. This was done using both traditional measure tapes as well as laser tools.

Pol House

The historic city of Ahmedabad boasts a unique architectural style known as pol houses. These houses, clustered together around 360 pols (meaning “gate” or “entrance” in Gujarati) within the city’s fortified walls, date back 300-400 years. These inward-looking communities feature houses designed around a central courtyard. These traditional dwellings offer a glimpse into a fascinating evolution of urban living, fostering a strong sense of community while providing a cool and light-filled space for residents.

Team measured the challenging informal spaces along with the detailing including traditional carved wooden facades, doors, intricate columns, and ceilings using measuring tapes

Housing Studio

Site: Vapi, Gujarat.

Vapi has a dominant migrant culture contributing to the majority of the population. Housing was developed for around 1000 people including both individual and families. The site was divided into individual parcels. Within my parcel i created distinct units of 70 and 90 sq. m areas incorporating residential spaces, amenities, and open areas to enhance livability and functionality.Visiting the site enabled me to understand the migrant culture, surrounding spaces, sense of city layout.
