Established in 1989, the Asian Youth Center (AYC) is a non-profit organization primarily dedicated to helping Asian and non-Asian immigrant families with social service and educational needs. The AYC provides programs to assist at-risk, low income immigrant youth overcome some of the struggles in their environment. Services offered by the Center include the Accelerated Children’s Education (ACE) After-School Program, Gang Intervention Program, Emergency Food Program, and many more. The Asian Youth Center strives to help youth adapt and grow up into healthy and productive citizens. With this in mind, I am honored to be a part of this year’s anniversary dinner, which will honor those that have greatly contributed to the AYC programs, such as James Su of EDI Media, Inc.; Southern California Edison; Rose Hills Memorial Park & Mortuary; the Honorable Hans Liang; and David Lawton, retired San Gabriel Police Chief.
