First impressions of us all? Ambitious plans to grow the business and provide a wide range of services to our customers. Everybody has been very welcoming and supportive.
Immediate priorities – what does your day look like? No two days look the same. Naturally I will be looking how to further strengthen the Learning & Development support we provide at Axis CLC.
This starts with the essential skills and qualifications we need to operate our business, including health & safety or regulatory knowledge
like Fraud Prevention, and stretches to management and leadership skills as well as internal systems trainings. Our professional qualifications through apprenticeships are also a key focus area.
Goals for the business?
The HR team is currently updating its people plan and Learning and Development will be an important part of this. We will add to the immediate priorities above, one element will be implementation of a new Learning Management System (LMS) across the whole business early next year.
What do you need from the business/us to achieve these goals? Ultimately, we are supporting the business to have people with the right skills and experience in place to deliver for our customers and
for the business to achieve its targets. We need the business to engage with continuous professional development and to stay on top of their game, keep certificates updated and complete all mandatory training in time. If there are new learning needs, please reach out to us to discuss how we may be able to help.
Any challenges you are experiencing or can predict that you would like to share?
Everyone tends to be very busy, and that is when Learning and Development is sometimes de-prioritised. Please do see Learning and Development as essential investment in our future; if we neglect it now it will be much harder to catch up later to stay competitive and attract and develop our talent.
Finally…. Any hobbies, clubs, beliefs, activities you would like to share? I enjoy travelling and exploring new places, going to the theatre and relaxing at some partner dance classes.
Anything else you would like to add? I am looking forward to meeting you all over time as I visit different parts of the business. If you have any questions about Learning and Development and possible support, please reach out to me or one of the team members.
