Title: That Heart of Gold By Noel Lorenz Setting sun in the horizonBlowing wind spreading love around With a cool breeze and birds home bound. Day shadowed in dark complexion Sprinkling night's vibration enround. Went to find lost piece of my heart, Searched departments and online mart. It was nowhere in gold and pearl; Came back dejected, walked the dirt. Met you by the pool, simple girl.

tukana Samuel Oduor, poetically known as Nyakwar Mugele, is a poet that hails from Uranga Division in Siaya County. He is a holder of a bachelor of Education arts degree (English language and Literature) He is a product of Sidok primary school in Uranga and Boro Mixed Secondary School in Boro, both located in Siaya County. His writing passion started in primary school at standard three when his teacher selected him along other learners to draft a short open ended composition.Since then,he has strived to better himself in the writing finesse. This has been made a reality in a group he serves as a member,BAM CARES ARTMORE. He however still believes that one day he will even make expansive contribution to the work of Art to spread the gospel of Literature beyond Africa. He is also a staunch christian,a God- fearing man for that matter, and serves as a church secretary,a role he plays perfectly well. He has made several contributions to the noble course of poetry through anthologies such as;Morii anthology,Time and Tides anthology, Oceans of Words anthology just to mention but a few. His dream is to reach out to people through poetic work because he believes in that as a healing dose . Samuel's email address is otukanaso@gmail.com and contact 0714271380

Poetic Healing Today I'm unable to conceal The real zeal that's been with me Amid the disturbing aloofness Caused by the unfathomable weirdness of life. I rave that prolific day When I met this poetic belle Young, intelligent and creative With the best based beauty Which with her positively reliable assertiveness Came up with a modern stress reliever That's consistent, affordable and eligible Resulting to a fruitful poetic game Through the neatly coined name BAM CARES ARTMORE. A poet's vital tools of trade As is the overall literal belief Are the ideas, pen and paper That enhance the passing of information To those within and without Through a supportive modern platform That globally unifies a people As seen in Atemo's ARTMORE Apart from art that's more than art ARTMORE as is the name Supports the crucial moral art That gives importantly needed support For the growth of the local upcoming poets Who'd be known not In the society that silently kills The hard earned talents of the have- nots. As the literature knowledge goes Poetry is a painkiller That drives away the silent pain Of a hard- faced life It's a medicine that heals The sickness of a heart That's wounded with unseen wounds Of love that's missing in action It's perfectly sealed with zeal In BAM CARES Art zone A zone that cares for all. WALKING AWAY FROM DESTITUTION From birth and childhood, Life threw at me A thin rope to walk on On my way from destitution My father has always been there, Though at a safe distance Urging me never to look back For I may slip and fall down And those moments I've almost Thrown in a towel, A voice afar of a mother I've never had Has always told me never to lose to pessimism It is now almost three decades Of walking along the rope I can now see the end of destitution I hope that I'll get to the other side soon The Untamed Ink

The Situation Now Clouds are frustrated, shouting and mourning, The sky's anger and furry burning ready to pour it wrath, Humanity is calling, Help! Help! All to no rescue. Many are celebrating at others perilous times, Cheering, laughing not knowing what awaits, Eyes are masked, thinking is blocked, the tides are raving everyone. https://wandasinkpen.wordpress.com/2022/01/06/the-situation-now/

Title: Evening in Spain By Noel Lorenz Upon the sand on this white beach, Lay on towel with eyes on street— A pen camera they had each. Their eyes were searching Mr. Hitch, So far with a pizza to eat. Dark blackish blue, the sun has set, Houses far away now fading. Hour later, I opened the gate The dogs came running, licked me wet. I left them food, went to meeting.

Romance in Lisbon By Noel Lorenz A romantic night, my dear love; Come near, let us not fight tonight. Centuries ago, in that cove, Fabrics of our skin interwove As the valley shined in moonlight. Thus the story goes on like this: They met in the office meeting. He beat the guy who used to tease. Once he stumbled upon her knees, They fell in love with souls dancing.

BAM CARES ARTMORE

So In my mind I was thinking If the words you speak were tattooed on your skin would you still be beautiful? If you received the love you give would your heart beat with joy? If your deeds are written in the sky would you smile at the sight of them?

Alfred Nyagaka Nyamwange was born in Kisii County, Kenya. He studied at Mokorogoinwa primary school, Kiomiti and Nyamagwa Mixed secondary schools, Kisii High school before joining the University of Nairobi. He is a teacher by profession and he is currently pursuing a PhD in Literature. He promotes language, literature and culture-related aspects as depicted in his works. These include the novels, The Blood Stains, The Broken Column, an anthology of short stories, The Woman Called Angel and the children's story, The Smell Of New Shoes. He has also contributed to various poetry anthologies such as Kistretch 7th Edition, Shackles Of Pain, Can't Breathe etcetera; including academic chapters and articles to celebrated books and refereed journals.

Literature Literature thrives essentially on imaginative constructs; which means that it is a form of composition that relies heavily on the composer‘s or writer‘s mental journeys that take him/her beyond the realms of the given to a world of fantasy or of the mind. Hence, the literary artist is not always bound by the ordinary daily experiences of people. For example, a raconteur or story teller almost always takes his/her audience to improbable and indeterminable lands and times which are products of his/her imagination. Writers have led their readers through lands of giants, one-eyed monsters, flying humans, speaking animals and forests; all these are emanations from their imagination. Some have presented environments that could best be described as replicas of heaven or hell in a bid to show the readers or audience the two poles of bliss/desire and repugnance/suffering unforgettable image of a young insurance executive who woke up in the morning to find that he had metamorphosed into a cockroach. All the extraordinary events and characters are products of literary invention or imagination. Imagination also comes into play in the literary artist‘s use of events and experiences in his/her social environment, but imbuing them with imagined aspects or qualities which raise them above the ordinary. Poetry This is the oldest of the three major forms of literature with roots deep in the rituals and religious observances of antiquity. Thus, it was mainly oral, performance-driven and public as it was, more often than not, a tool for supplication, communal tribal celebration and celebration of the supernatural as well as appreciation of the gifts of nature. From these early beginnings developed the personal and impersonal forms of poetry represented by the lyric on the one hand and the traditional epic and ballad on the other. Imagery is the sensory language used in poetry. By sensory we imply that the Sound is the auditory aspect or quality inherent in poetry. The importance of this characteristic lies in the fact that poetry is meant to be heard and in its original form it was a song and most short lyrics today still retain this character. Rhythm is the wave-like movement discernible in poetry. It accounts, along with sound, for the musical quality in poetry. Diction refers to the special choice or selection of words utilised by the poet in his work.

We Are Not Safe Let's run my dear, Flee and free our lives, Save our dear souls, We are not safe here. This is the price we get, Hunted like mother gazelle, They want to feast on us, We are not loved here. My dear daughter, Don't question my step, It hasn't been easy with me, Always staying on the watch and no sleep. Maybe one day you'll come to understand, How painful I regret hitting this road, Being pricked by thorny words, I haven't had a voice in this society.

We Are Not Safe Wanda The Poet

I have never been good enough, Good enough for their son, Their treatment dug deep in my soul, I feel hollow and worthless. This society is full of evil, You will be blamed for everything, You will always be a stranger, Culture and traditions all target us. https://wandasinkpen.wordpress.com/2022/01/15/we-are-n ot-safe/ © Wanda The Poet ® Kennedy Ochieng

WHY? Why do I wake up At stark midnight With thoughts of you Crowding my sleepy mind? Could it be true You too lost sleep Thinking of me? And hoping I'm well? Could it be true too Someone thinks us And wishes us we'll And hopes we flourish? Could it be too The days you wake Sweating and thirsty Goodness was flowing? For I too woke as such! Literate Gardener

In my Silence I can't sleep My eyes can't close I fear I can never wake up. I can't cry My tears freezed to ice Saturated salt in them bite. My body is numb I can't feel anything Pain has slice every sense in me. I can't walk My back is overweighed I just stare in the void space. I stink I've buried pain and frustrations Nowhere to step, tombs everywhere. I'm tired I'm sucked dry Scales peeling off my skin. ©® Kennedy Ochieng

MY WAYS I have learnt the ways Games this world plays The traps in my way That this world lays I have learnt to live As it wants me live To be as it wants have Do as it wants me slave I've known to smile And show teeth well The way to crawl If the world will I've known to give Not all that I have But my mouth to curve Like it's all I have I've learnt to dress Like I am the boss when am on the cross And will travel on a bus I've learnt to post when at my best Hide pain from the rest And cry when I rest I know how to wear faces Like masks in theatrics So the world sees no cracks And live in deceitful bliss. Literate Gardener

"Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time."

These Are My Last Words I cry and yell and shout for help but am speechless I look at you for help but all this is pure aimless You think am weak when I ask to be heard Y'all look at me as if am a retard Woken up by the burning smell of my soul Am a big boy now but my self is not that bold My mind now is rolling on in backwards But these are my last words Judge me it's okay, I'll wallow into that Ignore me it's okay, I'll still swallow that Time and time again, my heart is darkened Time flies by but my time's is done My spirit and my body they're no longer one I need time in my own space I am walking with a quick pace Carry my burning soul, like am blowing deep within I know how it ends but daily I grow thin My mind now is rolling on in backwards But these are my last words Hundreds of friends around but none really asks why If I pass over, I'd rather do it without goodbye My head is up in space, and my heart is lost in it My thoughts are in bits and my heart is broken My mouth is full of words that are quite unspoken Spirit is lost, head is gone, heart is breaking, body is weak Am a big bird without a beak My mind now is rolling on in backwards But these are my last words If I go without saying goodbye just know that is how I want The real ones are lost from my corner But hell no I have nothing against you Leg me just go and that would be it They gave me names, they called me a disease, they called me an irritation Diseases have to die, irritation has to be dealt with These are my lost words, Every bit of it My mind now is rolling on in backwards But these are my last words

This is between me and my creator So I think this is something that is greater If I die, don't bother about my body Am a speck of dirt, am just a pure no body Don't spend your money on my tombstone Just worry not about my broken backbone Am worried about my soul, but why worry Why worry when my life was pure sorry Why worry when life isn't that livable Why worry when I have no words to say My mind now is rolling on in backwards But these are my last words See, am sorry that this is me at this point I wish you'd know me better than this I wish you'd really understand what I feel Am sorry that I let you down like this I am sorry for being so broken Am sorry that I see no value in this world I am sorry that you think am weak Am sorry you think we have everything in common I raise my heart to God, I just hope and wish he'll take it I raise my soul to God, I wish He'll accept it I raise my thoughts to God, I wish he'd clean it My mind now is rolling on in backwards But these are my last words ©The Street Prophet
