How We Accidentally Discovered What Business We're Really In
Twenty-two years ago, I thought I was getting into the hot tub business. Turns out, I was getting into the business of helping people make the right decisions about their outdoor spaces.
Most people in this industry started with business plans and market research. I started by digging a hole in my garden with a spade.
Itallstarted witha childhood dream of havinga swimming pool. Most people just dream about it I actually dug the hole myself. Three months of backbreaking work, but I loved every minute. While building that pool, I kept thinking there was something about this industry I liked.
It started with an inflatable lounger Sarah spotted in a magazine. When I couldn't find it anywhere in the UK, I did what would become my signature move I went straight to the source, contacted the American factory, and asked if they wanted UK distribution. Soon I was assembling DIY hot tubs in people's back gardens, telling pool shop owners to "put the kettle on" while I built them a spa in 15 minutes.
But somewhere along the way, I made an accidental discovery that would define everything that followed.

Where We Are Now
Twenty-two years later, Aqua Warehouse operates from a 7,000-square-foot showroom the South East's largest indoor spa showroom with multiple WhatSpa Professional Retailer of the Year Awards lining the office walls.
But I'm more proud of the three-years-later photos customers send: kids who've put down their phones to splash together, couples rediscovering conversation under the stars, stressed professionals who've found their daily sanctuary.
Sarah, who started it all with her magazine discovery, is still here, tolerating my enthusiasm for helping "just one more customer" transform their garden. The team has grown to include installation specialists, design consultants, and service technicians who share the same commitment to getting it right, not just getting it done.
