PARKS & RECREATION
The Parks and Recreation department provides various recreational opportunities for the community to help make Sioux City a healthy, active, and fun place to live. The Parks and Recreation department has the following specific roles: Recreation Administration and Programing; Park Maintenance; Facilities Management; and Park Planning and Development. The mission of the Parks and Recreation Department is to provide excellent cost-effective services to its customers with a focus on reliability and responsiveness. PROGRAM CANCELATION POLICY
Sioux City Parks and Recreation will notify customers if a program is canceled, or a facility is closed due to weather or unexpected circumstances. Contact will be made via email or telephone to the address or phone number we have on file. Customers may sign up for the CodeRED Alert System to receive mobile alerts. Download the CodeRED Mobile Alert app from the Google Play or Apple Store.
Parks and Recreation offers 20% off for households in Sioux City that qualify. If you qualify to receive the reduced rate you must sign up in person at the Parks and Recreation Admin office located at the Seaboard Triumph Foods Expo Center. Must provide proof of eligibility. Discount applies to swim lessons, pool admission, tubing admission, and more!
Qualifications:
• Must be a current resident of Sioux City, Iowa
• Bring in your Notice of Decision letter from DHS. Letter must be within six months and must list current address and list members of the household that qualify.

CODE OF CONDUCT
Participants, parents, and volunteer team leaders are expected to exhibit appropriate behavior at all times during youth sports. Each volunteer team leader is required to attend the team leader meeting prior to our youth programs.
YOUTH SOCCER
This introductory 6-week league focuses on basic skill development, socialization, and teamwork. Games are played at the Riverside Soccer fields on Saturday mornings.

PICKLEBALL LEAGUE

Bring your friends and lawn chairs and join us downtown for first class LIVE entertainment! YOGA IN THE PARK
Thanks to the partnership between Sioux City Parks & Recreation and Evolve Yoga, free yoga classes will be offered on Saturday mornings this summer.
Join the Yoga classes each Saturday at 9am at the Yoga Lawn at Chris Larsen Park. Each class is approximately one hour and is open to the public. Classes will be structured for everyone from first-timers to regular yoga practitioners. Participants bring their own yoga mat and a bottle of water.

JUNIOR LIFEGUARDING
Want to know what it takes to be a lifeguard for the Sioux City Parks & Recreation but aren’t old enough? The Junior Lifeguarding program offers children ages 1015 the opportunity to learn and train with professional lifeguards. The Junior Lifeguards will gain a wide variety of skills, knowledge, and valuable experience which builds self-confidence and skills for life. On the last day, enjoy a pizza party with the lifeguards!

REFUND POLICY
The City of Sioux City Parks and Recreation provides recreational and aquatic opportunities. Our facilities are available for the rental needs of families, schools, companies, groups, and organizations year round. In order to effectively and fairly serve our patrons, we have implemented the following refund policy:
FACILITY RENTALS: The rental fee must be paid at the time of the reservation. A full refund will be given to Parks & Recreation facility rentals with a thirty day notification of cancellation.
SWIMMING POOL RENTALS: Renters will have the option to rebook or obtain a refund if a weather related circumstance arises. No refunds will be given for pool daily admission fees if the pool is closed due to inclement weather or due to pool issues not governed by City staff.
PROGRAM REFUNDS: Recreation programming requires a minimum of one week cancellation prior to the start of the class for a refund (less a 10% or $5 min. administrative fee). No refunds will be given once the class has begun.
ATHLETIC PROGRAMS: Youth and adult athletic program cancellations will be refunded (less a 10% or $5 min. administrative fee) if the cancellation is received prior to the deadline dates. No refund will be given after the deadline date nor after the sport has begun.
CONE PARK TICKETS: Transfer of tickets to a new date if the temperature or wind chill is below 0. Request must be made at least 24 hours prior to purchased tubing session.
EXPO CENTER: Full payment due at time of reservation. One-month notice to cancel is required to obtain a refund. If less than one month staff will work with rentals on rescheduling issues caused by noncontrollable factors (ie. severe weather closures).
We strive to follow these stated policies but understand circumstances may prohibit the ability of the citizen to engage in the program or rental agreements. Please call with any questions about unexpected situations that arise and require your cancellations. Proof of situation may be required to obtain a refund.

Take a relaxing walk along the riverfront trail thru the labyrinth of nature’s colorful blooms and listen to the relaxing flow of the Missouri River. Enjoy all amenities the park has to offer to the public: Pavilions, Great Lawn, Dog Park, Overlooks, Interactive Water Feature, Basketball Court, Yoga Lawn, Playground and Rec Lawn. Visitors may gain park access from Hamilton Boulevard and Larsen Park Road or 700 S. Floyd Boulevard.
