LAUREN, ON SHARING THE
SAME FRIENDS AS HER TRIPLETS:
“Mostly it’s just Elizabeth and I who share friends, but it is pretty fun when we can all hang out together. At school when we need partners or something, it’s kind of hard to decide who we will be with if that makes sense.”
JACK, ON THE WORST PART ABOUT HAVING THREE SISTERS: “The worst part is being know for them. Because instead of being known as an individual, I’m known as a group. They look at me as one of the triplets, one of the Myers.”
ELIZABETH, ON THE BEST
PART ABOUT BEING A TRIPLET:
“Probably one of the best parts of being a triplet is knowing that you have two other people that are the same age as you and are going through the same things as you. It’s always comforing knowing that I can go to one of them if I need help with anything.”
NATALIE, ON THE BEST PART
ABOUT HAVING THREE YOUNGER SIBLINGS IN SCHOOL: “It’s like built
in friends. You’ve got no friends? You’ve got siblings. You can go talk to them. I FEBRUARY 2016
talk to them all the time and it’s fun to see each other in the hallway.”
LAUREN, ON BEING CONFUSED FOR HER SISTER: “Our
dad confuses us a lot for some reason. Also, my teachers this year have been confusing us more than usual. Mostly people have us down, but there are always two or three people who mess it up all the time which gets annoying. I don’t correct them or anything because that takes too much work.”
JACK, ON THE MOST
INTERESTING THING ABOUT BEING A TRIPLET: “People
overestimate how interesting it is being a triplet. I think the most interesting thing is how much attention I get for being a triplet. Other than that, it’s just like having siblings that are your age. I mean, I don’t know any different.”
ELIZABETH, ON SWIMMING AGAINST HER SISTER: “Well
swimming against Lauren has its ups and downs. Whenever we are put up against each other, I actually get super nervous because I want to beat her so badly. But I also know that she wants to beat me really badly too so it sets
up to be a good race. Usually the time difference between our finishes is less than a second, so we are pretty close in every event. But if she beats me in an event, I always make sure I beat her in the next one.”
NATALIE, ON BEING ON THE SAME TEAM AS HER YOUNGER SIBLINGS: “It’s annoying, because
I have to live with them and then I have to see them at swim. Usually it’s okay and I can deal with them, but other times it gets to be too much. Sometimes I even end up yelling at them. I mean, we act the same at the pool as we do here [at home].”
LAUREN, ON THE WORST
PART ABOUT BEING A TRIPLET:
“Everyone feels the need to say ‘They’re triplets.’ Someone will ask if I’m a twin or about my sister and someone else will be like, ‘No, they’re actually triplets.’ It’s kind of annoying.”
JACK, ON HIS TEAMMATES
DATING HIS SISTERS: “I get more
friends this way. You see, when people want to date your sisters they become very nice to you. It’s nice because people really listen to you when they
know you have information they need to get- stuff about information on my life, well, mostly about my sisters. But it’s still conversation, you know. It’s cool because they’ll be multiple guys talking to me about one person.”
ELIZABETH, ON THE WORST PART ABOUT HAVING THREE SIBLINGS IN HIGH SCHOOL: “The
worst part isn’t really about Natalie or Jack, but Lauren. You have no idea how many times I get called Lauren on a daily basis. I don’t really mind it that much, but sometimes it can get annoying. I now go by Lauren or Elizabeth apparently. I actually like having all three of them at the same shcool as me, so I don’t really have that many problems.”
NATALIE, ON THE BEST THING ABOUT BEING THE TRIPLETS’ OLDER SISTER: “I get to borrow their
clothes- that’s number one priority. But seriously, I can relate better to them and we’re really close. Especially since they’re in high school I can relate. If they’re going through the same thing that I went through, I can give them advice.”
