B MOS WORLD CHAMPS HERE WE COME! Avondale College students have once again beaten hundreds of thousands of global contestants to win a place in the finals of the Microsoft Office Specialist World Championships being held in the USA next month. After a clean sweep of last week’s national finals in which, for the second year running, all finalists were from Avondale College, seven of our students will be heading to Anaheim, California, to represent New Zealand/Australasia in the global Microsoft and Adobe competitions.

All seven students have been involved with Avondale College’s ground-breaking Innovation Programme, in which students work on real world projects while achieving MOS and Adobe certifications and NCEA and Cambridge qualifications along the way. “These students are the youngest and most high performing group ever,” says Brent Lewis, Principal of Avondale College. “They have yet to be coached in any way for their tests, so their potential for success at the international level is exciting!”
REPORT EVENING TUESDAY 4TH JULY 4.30 - 7.30PM All students will soon be issued with a report that is designed to give an indication of their progress so far this year. There is a report evening planned for parents to meet with the teachers to discuss the report. This will be held in the Atrium on Tuesday 4th July between 4:30pm and 7:30pm. Please note that online booking of interviews through the Family Connection are now available and will close on Sunday 2 July. Avondale College is obliged to confirm all candidate entries to Britain and to make payment soon after this date. This means that we are unable to enter students who have not paid by 30 June.
