English language competency Certificate, diploma and degree courses Courses at Avondale are delivered in the English language. In order to complete the courses successfully, international applications from a country where English is not the first language must demonstrate proficiency in English. Information on English Language requirements for undergraduate higher education courses can be found in the Admission to Higher Education Undergraduate Courses Policy www.avondale.edu.au/about/policies/display/?s=MjQ= and for post graduate courses, in the specific course information www.avondale.edu.au/academics/postgraduate/

Securing an Australian Student Visa Once an applicant has been accepted for study, full payment of fees before the commencement of each semester is required. Once fees for the first semester are paid, they are then issued with a “Confirmation of Enrolment (COE)” which enables them to apply for a student visa. To study in Australia you must have a valid Australian visa. Student visas are temporary visas that allow you to come to Australia for a specific period to study at an Australian educational institution. We strongly recommend you check the information available on the Australian Department of Home Affairs (DHA) website https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/ or contact your nearest Australian High Commission or Diplomatic Post to find information on obtaining a student visa. DHA will require you to provide evidence of sufficient funds or sponsorship to cover tuition, living and 5

travel expenses for the duration of the course and specified amounts for a spouse and child under 18 years of age, even if they are not planning to travel to Australia.

FURTHER INFORMATION The next intake for study at Avondale will commence on 25 February 2019. We recommend international students apply at least four (4) weeks prior to this date, to allow time for processing of paperwork, including their student visa, if required. Information on how to apply can be found at www.avondale.edu.au/future-students/apply/ Online application facilities are limited to citizens from particular countries. To apply by paper form, go to www.avondale.edu.au/System/Enquiries/study-forms/Enrolment.pdf or see page 12 for a paper application form. Please complete the form and return it to us together with a certified copy of your highest academic achievement to i.study@avondale.edu.au To speak with a member from Admissions Team call +61 2 4980 2377 or email i.study@avondale.edu.au
