WELCOME ROCKSTARS!

Welcome. First things first. Do not expect anything to be normal around here. It never was , it never will be . Hence the puppy pics on literally the first page in a “cookazine”. That's wezzy by the way. 1 out of 3 silly dogs we are obsessed with in our house. This magazine is a wild one. What started out as a summer project for myself quickly turned into this... a combo of local vegas (and beyond) travel tips , discounts ,kosher food guide and cookbook combined. I am on my own editing, designing taste testing blogging and scrap booking my fave recipes , travel adventures and more. It is perfectly imperfect just the way I like it. This first issue is just a taste of what's to come ! Yes ! This is the first of many with G-d's help. For now we will focus on recipes here and travel blogging can be found on my insta @outoftownkosherandhungover

Now lets get some things straight … I am not a professional cook, I'm actually best known for being a wig stylist, makeup artist and my Arbonne business... however I am also someone who has spent a rude amount of hours in the kitchen figuring out savory meals for my 4 amazing kids and cowboy (yes that’s what I call my hubs). Over the years, I have acquired recipes that my friends, family and guests who grace my home in “sagev sal” (las Vegas backwards that sounds like your Israeli cousin or uncle) love. So this summer I wanted to organize it all. One of my besties Becky Litvintchouk… I know coolest last name ever … showed me some tricks on some fun editing apps and my personal recipe started coming out so gorge! And a few said that I should make a cookbook. Initially gagged. No way in hell am I now putting on a show to cook for you all. I would rather kiss a fish. Not that there is anything wrong with that I just have no patience. But of course my entrepreneurial spirit and blessed up ADHD brain couldn’t stop thinking about how I can make this a thing. In the Aviva David way. How can I bring together my fave recipes, my friends, business and creativity. So, "Out of Town, Kosher and Hungover" was born. Think of it as a glimpse into my life, my adventures and a place to come to laugh, to explore, to learn and to ruffle some feathers on some topics in future issues. I am not here to just make bagels and chewy cookies with you.

I’m here to open cans of worms, to find the best of the best in kosher, travel, businesses and more. I want it all and so do you. So let’s roll.

Hello from Henderson NV. AKA Hendertucky. Or if you're fancy Henderson hills because Beverly lost it’s charm a while back IMO. So, How did we end up here. Cowboy and I dreamed of getting out of New York for years. But to uproot our 4 kids and make a new life away from our comfort zone, jobs, and family needed to be worth it. The requirements?

Palm trees, affordable NICE housing, no income tax, not humid (sorry floridians ILY) Jewish schools through high school that fit our family's vibe, kosher food, nature and bomb energy.

We had sold our house in the 5 towns and we’re living by my incredible inlaws for almost a year trying to figure it all out. We decided to get away that summer and took a road trip to the west coast… and of course my whole family fell in love. We stayed by friends in Vegas the last weekend of our trip and magic happened

We were told that new high schools opened up that would be a great fit for my oldest two and for my younger boys there were a few options as well! And then G-d in all his humor and glory sent over a neighbor who told my husband that clark county is desperate for school psychologist is he open to switching locations.

They were even willing to match his pay! So we extended our trip to look at houses and we were sold. We planned on Moving the next year in July so my kids can finish off the school year. It was the last week of summer and to figure it all out in Just a few weeks seemed crazy to me so we agreed to stay in NY one more year and plan the move with ample time. Little did we know a few months later the pandemic hit. Guess who quarantined for the year in her new house with a pool in Vegas ? Blessings upon blessings I tell you. I cried for years and tried so hard to find the right place and when the timing was right it all happened like in a movie. It was wild. I still can’t get over the beauty, the community, the no traffic and no snow… besides for that pic on bottom left… yes you can ski and snowboard in Vegas In the winter! We have it all. So unique! I’m so grateful. Please come visit.

LET'S TALK REAL ESTATE

MEET JUDI I cannot express my gratitude enough for this woman. Finding a realtor to help you find the right home is almost as important as choosing your life partner. Our needs were specific. We wanted space for kids and guests with minimal work, near parks with a pool an office and a guest room with full bath. We looked for a solid 8 months and I found a home that was stunning and fit every box minus a pool. I flew in to sign the papers and the night I arrived for one final look was the night the house went to someone else. As we already know what's meant to be will be but I was feeling really pressured at that point. My only saving grace was Judi. Her patience, knowledge, and effort to make magic happen really calmed me. We laughed, we searched we laughed some more and finally found an amazing house 3x the size any home I would be able to afford in NY. With a pool, stunning sunset views the best neighbors a gal can ask for. And it backs up a luxury neighborhood I have plans and dreams to move to and it's right down the block from an amazing park. With no state income tax , super low housing tax and room to breath I was in heaven. Thank you Judi for treating me so well and making the process professional and fun. Your welcome basket, engraved knife, wine and other goodies so unnecessary but so appreciated will never be forgotten. You've become not only my dogs favorite person and dog watcher but also a friend and a source of local info that really helped me through the beginning. Thank you for everything .

I will never forget meeting this beautiful hard working mom when I moved to Vegas. I instantly fell in love with her restaurant and who she is as a person . She inspires me with her story and I’m sure she will inspire you too!

Alexandra was born and raised in a small town in South Russia. While in college she got an opportunity to travel to the United States to improve her English proficiency in 2000 and fell in love with the country.

To her it was a “true land of opportunities”. She felt like she could achieve anything and in 2002, came back for a grad school.

Alexandra settled in Upstate New York, got her MS in General Ed, taught elementary school kids and five years later was recruited by Clark Country school district ( Las Vegas) and moved across the country for a new job.

After teaching in LV for eight years she moved on to the business world and did sales and marketing for a world renowned alcohol brands all over Las Vegas.

Throughout the years, Alexandra noticed that Las Vegas kosher scene is limited to Mediterranean style cuisine only. Restaurants opened and closed but the menu options stayed the same. For years she carried an idea to one day open a kosher restaurant that served all kinds of food .

It wasn’t until she met her husband, who by the way supports all her crazy ideas that she could finally bring her vision to life. Burnt Offerings is a place where you are welcome try a variety of dishes from traditional matzo ball soup (MY FAVE) and schnitzel to our Mac and cheese dish with chicken and vegan cheese or their newest addition Shrimp Scampi, imitation of course.

Alexandras experience in working with high end restaurants in LV allowed her to train her staff to deliver excellent customer service to her guests. They are always adding new and fun dishes so make sure to always check updated menus ! The look and ambiance can be credited to an amazing interior design team of the Show “Restaurant Impossible”. They came into Alexandra’s life during tough months of corona and not only offered them much needed help but also redid the whole dining room at no cost. Burnt offerings is forever evolving. Roasted garlic + ginger

and cauliflower soup 1 1/2 hour

serves 8

That little ginger kick paired with the cauliflower creaminess and roasted garlic is the best combo of flavors you wouldn't expect. a good hearty soup goes a long way.

ingredients 2 heads cauliflower or 2 bags frozen 2 bulbs or 15-20 cloves of garlic 1/4 cup shredded fresh ginger 1 container almond milk or regular milk 8 cups water 1 tbsp turmeric 2 tbsp salt 1 tbsp black pepper 1/4 cup onion soup mix (optional) 1/2 cup avocado oil for roasting garlic and cauliflower

instructions 1. Roast cauliflower and garlic with avocado oil on 350 till toasted and brown. About 3040 min.

2. Once done put in pot and blend rest of ingredients with immersion blender.

3. Cook for 1 hour on low simmer.

Notes You may want to play with this depending ... some peeps in my house like more ginger some like saltier i can't win.

Italian blistered tomato and garlic soup 8 -10 sertvings

If you didn't already know this fun fact about me ... I don't drink. I hate the taste of alcohol.

Don't feel bad for me its a huge blessing . Why am I bringing this up? Because one drink I can tolerate is the occasional bloody Mary. Maybe thats why I love this soup so much. Or maybe it's the other way around? Either way ... make this. Its super healthy, goes well with dairy fish or meat menus and omg pair it with my dutch oven bread ... chefs kiss.

ingredients

instructions 1. Pre - heat oven 325.

2. On a large baking sheet spread out halved tomatoes ,

8 large or 10 medium beef steak tomatoes 2 whole garlic cloves (not individual pieces) top sliced off to roast.

2 large sweet onions sliced 1 bunch chopped scallions cold pressed olive oil or avocado oil

sliced onion, garlic cloves FACE DOWN on sliced open side, scallions.

3. Drizzle a nice amount of oil onto on and roast in over for about 40 min or until looks ready.

4. Pour tomato and friends into large pot and add 8 cups water.

5. Immersion blend until smooth.

Cozy butternut soup 10 servings

45 minutes

This soup is one of my fave things to freeze.

So I usually double it in a really large pot to save time and prep in the future. Also you know those little yellow Osem croutons?

They are for some reason INSANELY delish in this soup . One of my other fave things to garnish it with is toasted pine nuts. I also brought this soup up to the slopes with fam and we sipped on it in a hot thermal cup. It was heaven and kept us going all day. This is more of a winter soup but hey … I wear white all year round. Rules are meant to be broken peeps.

ingredients 2 large roasted butternut squash or 2 frozen bags 4 cups almond milk 8 cups water 3 large sautéed onions 6 cloves chopped or crushed garlic cloves 4 tbsp salt 1 tsp black pepper 4 tbsp onion soup mix

instructions 1. Prepare squash so that its soft , cooked and peeled.

2. Sautee garlic and onions till golden.

3. Put up water almond milk and spices to boil.

4. Add squash and sauteed garlic and onions.

5. Boil for half hour.

Morrocan meat soup 10 servings

20 minutes

This soup is so perfect for a full dinner in one. It's jam packed with flavor and lots of veggies and meat.

Double the recipe in a huge pot to freeze half. It's an excellent defrost and heat for a quick dinner saver.

It’s also a fave crock pot camping soup!

ingredients 4 cups chopped celery 6 large carrots cut into chunks 4 large potatoes cut into chunks 4 large sauteed onions 8 cloves sauteed crushed or chopped garlic lb any cut of meat you like cubed, my fave is cheek meat 4 tbsp salt 1 tbsp black pepper 6 tbsp hawaiij for soup 4 tbsp onion soup mix

Notes Swap your traditional friday night chicken soup. Always a good idea to mix things up.

instructions

1. In a large soup pot sautee onions and garlic.

2. Add rest of ingredients and fill pot with water.

3. Boil on high for half hour then lower flame to very low and cook for 2 hours.

Tangy tajin

cod tacos 6 servings

30 minutes

Tajin! An amazing Mexican spice blend that is commonly used to dip the bloody Mary glass in for a kick with your drink. In my house we put it on fish. Or mix it into max and cheese for a zing and kick. You can find it in Coscto with a very good Mexican kosher symbol. Lets talk fish .

For the love of G-d sis... and for clearing out toxins please get fresh caught unfarmed fish. Tilapia is HORRIBLE for you. I chose cod for this recipe because its almost as buttery as sea bass and halibut and way cheaper in most cases. Also! I use cassava flour wraps which are incredible if you spray a pan and toast them. You should actually live by this rule for all tacos tortillas and wraps.

ingredients 4 lb wild caught cod 4 tbsp tajin 4 tbsp avovado oil 2 tbsp honey 1 squeezed lemon

instructions 1. Cook fish with all ingredients drizzled and sprinkled on for 20 minutes on 350.

Spicy morrocan salmon makes 8 servings

1 hour

Another main staple in my home that we usually make on Friday and is the gift that keeps on giving (if I make enough) throughout the week! We stick it in wraps or tacos or on toast and its just the best !!

Remember the rule with fish .... fresh caught WILD. Sorry clearly this is an important topic. You wouldn't believe what they put in farmed... hormones, dyes... it's just not even salmon anymore!

There may be some sustainable "better" less toxic farmed salmon in Whole foods sometimes if you get lucky. Enjoy the full of flavor mildly spicy full meal in a pot !

ingredients 3 lb salmon 1 can chickpeas 3 hot peppers sliced 1 yellow, red and green sliced peppers 2 jars marinara 2 tbsp honey 2 tbsp brown sugar 2 tbsp hawaiij spice for soup 1 tbsp salt 1 tsp black pepper

instructions 1. Mix all ingredients together.

2. Boil in a pot on low for 40 min or bake in oven on 350 for 40 min.

Asparagus salmon braid makes 8 servings

So I actually can't stand asparagus so I use spinach and onions but alot of people do so here it is. I also don't like avocado. Not sure what's wrong with me. Not sure I care to find out.

ingredients 3 lb salmon skin off 1 package pastry dough (there is a healthy kosher one at wholefoods! yahoo!)

A nice handful asparagus or 4 cups spinach 1 large onion 2 tbsp mustard 4 tbsp honey

instructions 1. Sauté onions and asparagus or spinach till golden.

2. Roll out dough till almost double its size but not too thin .

3. Add raw salmon in middle and put sauted veggies on top. Make sure there is a nice amount of dough on both sides for braiding.

Broccoli cashew

crunch Salad 10 min

serves 8

Nothing I love more than a salad lasting a few days in the fridge!

This one has many different versions and ingredients you can add in or change it up. Sometimes I put in pine nuts instead of cashews or add fried pastrami bits! But for now here is the main recipe and you can do whatever your in the mood for.

ingredients

1 large bag frozen broccoli or 1 whole head broccoli 1 chopped red onion 2 cups toasted cashews 1 cup craisins DRESSING 1 cup mayo 4 tbsp lemon juice

1. If using frozen broccoli defrost, if using fresh, rinse well and check for bugs like usual. I like smaller broccoli pieces so I chop mine.

2. Toss salad ingredients together in dressing.

1 tbsp garlic 1 tsp salt 1/3 cup sugar

Notes This salad is good for about 4 days in fridge! Raw broccoli lasts longer than frozen.

sweet potato, pomegranate quinoa salad 40 min

serves 8

So light .So filling .So good .

ingredients 6 cups cooked quinoa 2 cups pomegranate seeds 2 cut sweet potatoes in cubes and roasted till soft handful chopped cilantro 1 chopped red onion DRESSING 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar 2 tbsp sugar 1 tsp salt 1/2 cup olive oil

instructions 1. Cook quinoa.

2. Roast sweet potato with a drizzle of oil, soy sauce and honey for extra flavor.

3. Mix all ingredients together.

4. Eat warm or cold.

1 squeezed lemon

Notes Add craisins and pine nuts for extra yuminess.

Asian chicken salad serves 2

ingredients 1 cup chow mein noodles 2 lb chicken breast or pargiyot cajun seasoning garlic powder onion powder 1 cup grated carrots 1 bag butter lettuce cucumber chopped scallions 1 avocado small bunch of cilantro DRESSING 1/4 cup avocado oil 2 tbsp soy sauce

instructions 1. Coat chicken with seasoning on both sides and fry.

2. Food process all dressing ingredients minus the sesame seeds.

3. Add seeds to dressing and pour over salad.

1 tbsp brown sugar 1 tbsp honey 2 tbsp rice wine vinegar 1 1/2 tbsp toasted sesame oil 2 cloves garlic half a fresh knob of ginger juice from half a lime sesame seeds

Cherry tomato

hearts of palm scallion and pine nut salad 15 minutes

Another ''stays good in fridge for days" salad winner. The dressing for this is unreal!

Also I always make this on shabbos day so I never got a good photo. Forgive me.

ingredients 4 cups halved cherry tomatoes 1 can sliced hearts of palm 1 cup toasted pine nuts 1 bunch scallions diced DRESSING 1 tsp salt

1. You know what to do . I believe in you.

The best, softest cookies ever. Prove me wrong . We have been on the search for the perfect cc cookie for a while … and this is the winner . The perfect balance between cookie to chocolate chip ratio, chewiness , a hint of salt pure happiness. It's easy, fast, and always a crowd pleaser! Have fun with it ! Add nuts or pretzels or sprinkles or fruity pebbles or marshmallows or … the possibilities with this dough is endless !!! Use it as a base staple for bars, chip sticks etc! Use your creativity! You got this .

ingredients 7 cups flour 3 tsp salt 2 tsp baking soda 2 tsp vanilla 4 eggs

instructions 1. Combine eggs , salt , sugars , vanilla , and oil/butter Mix till well blended . A hand mixer is really needed and if

Protein cookie dough 4 servings

5 minutes

You should have your treats and still feel good about it.

I’m a big believer in the 80/20 rule. 80% of the time eat clean. 20% eat the damn cookie. But for those times when you are focusing on fueling your body with good ingredients you don’t have to crave and suffer! You will NOT believe how easy and good this is. Make small balls and freeze and put in your oatmeal, chia pudding, top your protein shake, have with some tea at night, make an açaí bowl and add with fruit and nuts, or whatever you fancy my friend. The possibilities are endless . Also… use chocolate protein with a tbsp of dark cocoa powder for double chocolatey treat .

ingredients 1/2 cup protein powder any flavor of your choice. My fave is a vegan coffee, vanilla, strawberry or chocolate flavor. Ask me what brand is best! Many brand don't do heavy metal testing and have awful ingredients.

1 tsp salt 2 tbsp almond butter 4 tbsp almond milk Chocolate chips of choice

instructions 1. Mix all ingredients together at same time 2. Eat dough right away or freeze to make cookie dough balls to garnish whatever excites you.

Notes If dough too dry add a few drops of almond milk at a time or if too wet add some more protein powder. You should be able to make small balls. Will be sticky you can find a small ice cube tray on Amazon and freeze dough in that :)

White chocolate

blueberry “snookies” 10 servings

30 minutes

Speechless.

What's a snookie you ask? No not that snookie from jersey shore. IYKYK. Why it's a scone cookie. Pretty sure this is something made up. But either way i'm here for it. Get creative. Use any kind of frozen fruit that excites you! Think raspberry, strawberry, lemon poppy... O the possibilities.

ingredients 3 cups flour 1 tps salt 1 1/2 tsp baking powder 1 tsp vanilla 1 cup sugar 1 cup softened any butter of choice 1 1/2 cups defrosted frozen blueberries NOT FRESH. They wont be blue and thats not fun at all is it ?

1 1/2 cup white chocolate chips

Notes Freeze any cookies you think won't get eaten in a day or two . I find anything with fruit goes bad quickly on counter but maybe its just me.

instructions 1. Combine flour, salt, baking powder in a bowl.

2. Microwave blueberries 30 seconds or more or melt in pot till hot and mushy .

3. Combine softened butter, vanilla and sugar in a separate bowl and mix well with hand or stand mixer.

4. Then add blueberries and mix.

5. Then flour mixture .

I know what your thinking ... ANOTHER blueberry recipe? Funny thing is I don't even trust uncooked bloobs as in i'm suspicious of the bunch because there are always a few rogue mushy ones... but cooked? I can handle that. It gets crazier though.... because as a category I don't believe fruit should ever be cooked with the exception of apples. And CLEARLY certain blueberry recipes. I don't judge you though you do you boo. I had to include these because they are famous amongst fam and friends. It would be a sin not to grace these pages with their presence.

ingredients 4 cups flour 4 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp salt 1 cup avocado oil 2 1/2 cups blueberries 4 eggs 2 1/2 cups sugar 2 tsp vanilla 1 cup almond milk

Notes You can sprinkle cinnamon and sugar on top for a crunchy muffin top situation.

instructions 1. Rinse blueberries. (check for those rouge guys).

A friend that takes the time to think of you when you are down is gold. I hid that cookie box under my bed because my whole family goes crazy over these and they would be gone. I altered the recipe a drop because I like more of a nutty taste and also doubled it as they tend to disappear really quickly, but these are almost exactly how my Mimi makes em!

ingredients 1 1/2 cup organic sugar (the costco one is my fave) 4 eggs 1 cup avocado oil 4 tsp vanilla 2 tsp salt 4 cups almond flour 2 cups ground almonds 2 cups arrowroot flour 1/2 cup organic ground flaxseed

Notes I preffer to bake these slightly

instructions 1. In a small bowl combine vanilla, eggs, oil, salt.

How lucky are we to get a second recipe from Mimz! This is so simple and so good.

Chia is one of those things that you aren't sure if the texture should totally freak you out or not. But once you try it ... you cant stop! You can get super creative with fruit combos and toppings. Chia has incredible healing benefits while being super filling and good for your gut. I love mine with a bit cinnamon or cocoa powder. Yummers.

ingredients 1/2 cup chia seeds

1. Mix chia seeds with warm

1 cup warm water

water and let sit 5 minutes.

1 cup almond milk

2. Then add rest of ingredients

This recipe was passed down to me from my amazing mama! It's one of those recipes you can decide to make oreo or strawberry or caramel or lotus butter easily. It's truly the best, lightest, a drop tart on top cheesecake I ever had.

ingredients FILLING 2 packages 8 oz each farmer cheese 2 8 oz each whipped cream cheese 4 eggs 1 tsp salt 1 tsp vanilla 1 1/2 cups sugar 2 tbsp lemon juice SOUR CREAM TOP 1 8 or 10 oz container sour cream 1/2 cup sugar CRUST Sometimes I do Duncan Heinz brownie and sometimes I do graham crackers and sometimes I do Biscoff cookie and sometimes I do none.

Creamy Dutch

brie (or farmer ) cheesecake 10 servings

Tell me you need to go to a cheescake anonymous meeting without telling me. I needed to include this one. Throw crushed snickers or Skor bar on top. Can't stop wont stop. This recipe works best in a deep springform pan. Treat yo self to a good one.

Pro tip is put parchment paper on bottom before you pour cheese cake. You can also freeze a disk of my home made Nutella stick it in middle of cheesecake before you bake.

ingredients 40 oz brie at room temp OR farmer cheese if you cant find brie.

1 1/2 cup sugar 1 tbsp vanilla 3 eggs 2 cups heavy cream 1/3 cup cake flour

instructions 1. Mix all ingredients well (I like to blend mine for extra creaminess but you don't have to).

2. Bake on 400 for 1 hour.

For the Cinnamon Apple Cake Layer 1 lb Thinly Sliced Apples, (about 2 medium sized honey crisps and 3 small granny smiths) 10 TBSP Salted Butter, divided 1 tsp Cinnamon 2 TBSP Light Brown Sugar 1/2 C + 2 TBSP (130 g) Granulated Sugar 1/2 tsp Salt 1 1/3 C (150 g) All Purpose Flour 1 tsp Baking Powder 2 Lg Eggs, at room temperature 1 tsp Pure Vanilla Extract

1. Slice apples into 1/8″ thick slices. should be Abt 1 lb of apples after sliced . mix in a bowl with 2 TBSP of sugar and the juice of 1/2 a lemon. Cover and place in the fridge for 1 hour. After an hour, remove from the fridge and drain off the excess liquid.

2. Heat the oven to 350 and line a 9″ springform pan with parchment paper and spray with non stick spray.

3. In a large pan, melt 2 TBSP of the butter. Add the brown sugar, and cinnamon.

Whisk until butter is melted and sugar is dissolved.

4. Add the apples and cook for 8-10 minutes, or until tender. Let cool for 10 minutes.

5. Melt the remaining 8 TBSP of butter and add it to a large mixing bowl with the granulated sugar. Use a hand whisk to combine.

6. Add eggs and vanilla and mix well.

7. Add the flour, baking powder, and salt and fold until just combined.

8. Add in the slightly cooled apples and fold in well.

9. Pour the cake batter into the prepared pan, spread into an even layer, and prepare the cream cheese layer.

For the Caramel Cream Cheese Layer 8 oz (1 Block) Full Fat Cream Cheese, at room temperature 1 Lg Egg, at room temperature 3 C (350 g) Powdered Sugar + more for dusting 1/3 C Salted Caramel Sauce

10. In a bowl, use hand mixer to whip the cream cheese until smooth. Add the egg and mix .

11. Add the powdered sugar 1/2 at a time, mixing for 2 minutes after each addition or until smooth.

12. Add the salted caramel sauce and mix to combine.

13. Pour the caramel cream cheese mixture onto the apple cake batter and spread gently.

Notes I promise you . it's worth the effort. you can make this with non dairy butter and non dairy cream cheese but ....eh. some things should remain dairy. Like mac 'n cheese. Also there's a weird dot i can't get off this note so we will just pretend it's not there.

14. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes. It will still be wobbly in the center, but as long as the edges are golden and the top has a crackly skin, it’s done.

15. Let cool on the counter for 10-15 minutes, then place in the fridge to chill for at least 2 hours to allow the cream cheese layer to set.

16. When ready to serve, dust with powdered sugar and slice into 10 pieces.

Lotus butter cake servings 10

Combining cookies and cake is like combining unicorns and mermaids. Magic on top of magic.

This cake took me probably 20 times to perfect.... and my fave time of year to make it is Rosh Hashana when the figs are in season to decorate. But who are we kidding. This should be made weekly. Treat yourself to a fancy bundt pan or make into muffins. Take a moment of silence before your first bite and say a blessing with extra gratitude for the creation that is lotus.

ingredients 4 eggs 1 cup orange juice 2 cups sugar 3/4 cup oil 1 cup almond milk

instructions 1. In a small bowl combine vanilla , eggs, sugar, 1 jar lotus, salt.

2. In a large bowl mix flour and baking powder.

3. Make a well in middle of flour bowl and

1 tbsp vanilla

Belgian waffles with home made Nutella servings 4 large waffles or 10 mini

There are so many things we can eat enjoy without all the added toxins and chemicals.

Nutella is one of those things. You would be mind blown to know how toxic it is and the crazy crap they put in it for no reason! Makes me so mad. And it would be a crime to eat it alone so... waffles. These waffles are so easy and immediately transport you to feeling like your in some fancy Parisian cafe. Top with fruit or nuts and your really going to lose it.

Best donut dough ever 8-10 medium donuts

OCD in high gear again...wanting to save this recipe for the Chanukah and winter edition ... but sticking to my fave rockstar recipes, even if it's not attached to a specific theme or holiday gives me an eye twitch. Working on myself here Y'all. As you may have noticed i'm a big fan of avocado oil. For health reasons it's one of the best to cook and fry and bake with as well as cold pressed EVOO, but not with this recipe. Can't for the life of me tell you why it just doesn't. So with a heavy heart I recommend canola oil. NEWS FLASH. Yes canola isn't good for you. Like it's just as bad as margarine.

ingredients 2 cups warm milk (sub almond milk) 2 eggs 4 1/2 tbsp yeast 4 tbsp sugar 5 1/2 cups bread flour 1 tsp salt 4 tbsp butter softened (sub earth balance) oil for frying

instructions 1. Warm milk in microwave 30 second to 1 min.

2. Add yeast and sugar to bubble.

3. In a separate bowl mix flour and salt.

4. Make a well and pour in yeast mixture.

5. Then add butter and eggs.

6. Mix till smooth dough forms. Add more flour 1/4 cup at a time if too sticky.

7. Let dough rise 25 min.

8. Roll out slightly, you don't want skinny donuts ,and use cookie cutter to cut rounds. Cut a small hole in middle if you want a ''holey'' donut or leave round to fill with goodies.

9. Heat oil in deep pan or pot medium low... you don't want them to overcook.

10. Fry each side until slightly golden.

Notes Make mini donut bites out of extra dough! Make cream puffs, cinnamon

11. Use slot spoon to place on cookie sheet and go to town with fun toppings and fillings. Like marshmallow fruity pebble, lotus, nutella, jelly, custard ....

“I can't believe it's not Starbucks“ vanilla caramel iced mocha latte

I need this right NOW. Also I think Elisheva should open up a coffee shop called “LissBucks”. Come get some marriage advice and an ice coffee all at once. I’m so down.

instructions 1. Start with a heaping tsp of instant coffee granules. (I know. Don't be a snob. You can even use decaf. I'm a coffee heretic, what can I tell you? Try it first, and then fight me on this.)

2. First toss in the coffee granules in a biggish cup, and then fill it about 1/3 of the way up with water. It can be cold, from the sink, bottled, hot- whatever. I'm telling you- this is easy, girl.

3. Add 1-2 tsp of sugar or any sugar substitute you like, or no sweetener at all, if you like sad things.

4. Now here's where it gets fun and creative and magical: Add a short pour or squirt of any or all of the following syrups, to taste: caramel, butterscotch, vanilla, chocolate. And/ or any of the flavored coffee creamers from your local grocery food section, like International Delight or Coffee mate. Go crazy with this step. It's like inner child coffee.

5. Add enough ice so that the sweet brown liquid climbs like 2/3 of the way up the glass.

6. Fill the rest of it up with whatever white creamy stuff you drink: any percentage milk, real, oat, almond, protein drink- it's more there as a backdrop to soften and blend the other flavors. But the yummier an option you choose, the more you'll like it.

7. If you're extra (and you know you are) add a big ole swirl of whipped cream on top, upon which you can drizzle any of the aforementioned syrups artistically, or messily, or even cinnamon, if that's your jam. (But don't add jam; that's just gross.)

Add straw and slurp to the very last drop:) Repeat as needed.

At least daily, and preferably with a friend or great reading material.

I mean isn't she gorgeous? Food with dark and dangerous aesthetic? It's for me. Pair her with a butter board and some edible flowers. COME TO MAMA. Get yo self some kosher food grade black activated charcoal, which surprisingly gives the bread a fresh clean taste and some fancy black sesame seeds from whole foods and you got yourself some pretty good lookin bread! You will impress your guests and be the talk of the town. You can also add the black sesame and charcoal to the challah recipe for extra weekend oo's and aahh's. ALSO get yourself a dutch oven. Le Cruset is the best brand but your credit card might explode in your hand... there ok ones at Costco a while back but quality is meh. So splurge if you can. A good dutch oven set it the hermes bag of your kitchen. Your food comes out insane.

1. Mix flour salt yeast and black charcoal.

4 tsp active dry yeast 3 tsp salt 3 cup warm water 2 1/2 tbsp black charcoal (activated food grade) black sesame to garnish

Notes Skip the charcoal for a still yummy crusty bread.

2. Then slowly add warm water and mix well.

Dough is going to be very sticky.

3. Let rise for 1 hour in a warm place.

4. Scrape dough into Dutch oven lined with parchment paper that is lightly brushed with avocado oil.

5. Brush top of dough with egg and sprinkle on a nice thick layer of black sesame.

6. Pre heat oven 350 .

7. Place parchment paper into hot dutch oven , place dough in, cover and bake for about 30 min.

Mamas light and crispy

bagels 12 large 14 med or 16 mini bagels

1 hour + baking time

I don't know what it is about home made bagels but these are light as easy on the stomach. Maybe it's the healthier ingredients or lack of preservatives but these are like clouds compared to a heavy carb coma bagel and so fun to make! Being that I came from new york with no shortage of bagel stores it never crossed my mind to even make these! But here I am in middle of the desert. “Bakin and boilin” bagels. You gotta try this.

ingredients 4 tsp yeast 3 tbsp sugar 6 -7 cups bob's red mill artisan

instructions 1. In a small bowl combine 1 cup very warm water, 1 tbsp sugar, and yeast and lightly stir. Let sit for 5 min to bubble.

2. In a large bowl mix salt, flour, rest of sugar

flour (dont mess this up people) .

I was going to save the recipe for a bread or shabbos issue but i wanted to stay true to my rockstar repeat recipes. So here she is. The best challah recipe I have ever tried.

For the life of me I can't remember who gave me this beauty but thank you! Because who doesn't want the perfect challah to pair with the best dips and fish?!

ingredients 3 tbsp yeast 5 lb bag high quality flour 2 tsp sugar 4 cups very warm water 2 tbsp salt 1 1/2 cup honey 1 1/4 cup avocado oil 1 egg + 1 egg for wash any toppings of choice

Imagine showing up to a BBQ or movie night with friends and hot fresh home made soft pretzels with all the fixin's are laid out for all your dipping desires! Get some small clear glass bowl and do a combo of sweet and savory options like mustard, ketchup, kraft brand garlic aoli (the flippin best ) or get crazy with mini fondu pots of cheesy penne vodka sauce, melted caramel, warm marshmallow fluff... the list goes on !

All meat should melt in your mouth. Otherwise… I don’t want it. I’m talking steaks, burgers, roast. All of it. Even my chicken. Omg chicken from the chicken soup or slow roasted overnight chicken… but right in this moment we are about to experience the magic of making ANY ground meat dish… the softest ever. The secret? Ground Potatoe , zucchini and onion in the meat mixture. I know .

The ''soft'' burger with Tangzhong buns serves 4-6

You know me with my soft meat rule... doesn't melt in my mouth? Doesn't get approved by me.

And that fresh home made fluffy bun?? What's a Tangzhong bun you ask? It's a specific process to soften and ''fluffyize'' (new word I just made up?) the bun bread. WINNING. Gotta try this with my challah. We are going to use our meatball secret and then some here. You will never be able to eat a regular burger again. This will single handedly ruin all future BBQ experiences for you forever. And i'm not mad about it.

ingredients BURGERS 2 lb ground meat 1 small to medium potato 1 small onion 1 small or half large zucchini 1 bunch scallions 1/2 tsp garlic powder, onion powder,black pepper,cumin, hawaiij for soup seasoning 1 tbsp salt 2 tbsp ketchup 1/4 cup honey 1 egg BUNS (makes 4 big and 6 small) Tangzhong 3 tbsp water 3 tbsp almond milk 2 tbsp bread flour Buns 1/2 cup almond milk 1 tbsp yeast 2 1/2 cup bread flour (add the last half cup slowly you don’t want dough too heavy may only need a little bit more than 1/4 cup) 1 tsp salt 3 tbsp sugar 1 egg 1 yolk 3 tbsp softened earth balance butter

Notes You can do this with ground chicken or turkey too!

instructions 1. In a blender blend potato, scallions, onion and zucchini.

2. Add to room temp ground meat.

3. Add spices, ketchup honey and egg.

4. Fry burgers on low to medium heat.

5. Make the Tangzhong by mixing all ingredients over a low heat, continuously stirring until a paste is formed. The Tangzhong is key to creating the soft fluffy texture.

6. .Warm milk then add in the dried yeast. Mix and leave in a warm place to activate for 10 minutes.

7. Mix the rest of the dry ingredients then add the milk and yeast, whole egg, egg yolk, tangzhong and unsalted butter.

8. Knead the dough for around 10 minutes or until smooth. If using a mixer, do this on a low speed.

9. Once smooth, place the dough into a lightly oiled bowl, cover and leave to rise in a warm area until roughly doubled in size 1 hour.

10. Take some time to watch how to knead dough into a proper bun shape. It's fun to learn and will make your buns pretty. No one wants to eat ugly food.

11. Divide dough into 6 parts and make pretty like we just spoke about. Brush top with egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds if your in the mood.

12. Bake at 375 for 17 min or untilgolden on top.

The FOMO of not being able drive up to Taco bell or Chic-fil-A and grab something good kinda gets to you once in a while. Ok maybe just me. Not because I think these foods are actually good (not that I would know because Iv'e been kosher my whole life, but just for the convenience and curiosity! I came across a viral video of someone making this and I instantly went crazy. Had to have it. Lenny's casita in LA makes them amazing too ... the only kosher restaurant I have ever seen them in. BUT it's 4 hours away and I have 5 men living in my home I need to feed so.... we crunch wrap ourselves.

ingredients 3 lb ground meat the same recipe as my soft burger or shredded cheek meat or shredded chicken.

1 onion ground 1 tbsp each of garlic powder, chili powder,cumin,paprika black pepper, salt 12 jumbo tortillas 6 small tortillas for extra crunch and flavor add bbq or spicy or jalapeno lime corn chips 1 tbsp each of garlic powder, chili powder,cumin,paprika black pepper, salt sliced tomato shredded lettuce thousand island dressing or garlic aoli

instructions 1. In a frying pan add meat with spices and ground onion and some oil and fry up.

2. Prepare any insides you like. Tomatoes, lettuce, fried onions, peppers ... you get the idea.

3. Fry small tortilla or just use small crunchy corn tortilla or the corn chips.

4. Lay down large tortilla and add to middle the cooked meat and veggies and sauce of choice.

5. Then add the crunch of choice.

6. Then cut a 6 inch round out of middle of remaining jumbo tortilla's to cover middle and fold over sides of large tortilla.

7. Spray pan and toast both sides.

Cilantro. You either love it or hate it. But I have turned people over to being a cilantro lover because of these. They are loved by all and a great finger food especially for kids.

ingredients 2 packages egg roll wrappers 2 lbs diced small chicken breast 1 red pepper 1 green pepper half head slivered cabbage 1 sliced very thin onion 1 whole bunch cilantro 1/2 cup duck sauce 1/4 cup soy sauce

Notes Don't overstuff eggrolls you want them to tuck and fold well. Dip in hoisen sauce for extra oomf.

instructions

1. Stir fry chicken, peppers, onions, cabbage, cilantro for 10 minutes.

2. Drain out any excess liquid.

3. Put in bowl and add sauces.

4. Roll into eggrolls and fry.

Pot stickers impossible to calculate

Pick your right hand up, place it on your heart repeat after me. I, the reader of this recipe shall not over eat these perfect crispy, tasty, salty yet sweet perfect little bites of heaven. It is mind blowing how I literally make easily 100 of these at a time and no matter what they barely last an hour on the counter. Especially when my oldest son is home. It's kind of fascinating to watch the kids descend like a psycho flock of New York pigeons (believe it or not pigeons are normal in other parts of the world). I recommend you have a buddy to make this with you because it is tedious. Worth it but ... grab a helper. P.S. prepare the filling the day before for extra flavor and time saving . P.P.S watch how to seal wrappers on you tube it helps! Don't be intimidated, you can do this.

ingredients 4 lb pargiyot or dark chicken tenders 2 packages giyoza wrappers 1 cup choppedscallions 1/2 cup sugar 1/4 cup honey 1/2 cup soy sauce 1/2 cup toasted sesame seed oil 1 tbsp salt oil for frying DIPPING SAUCE 1 cup honey 1 cup soy sauce 2 tbsp toasted sesame seeds

instructions 1. In a blender blend chicken.

2. Add chicken to a bowl with scallions, soy sauce, honey, salt, sugar sesame oil and mix.

3. Place a table spoon size amount of chicken mix into middle of giyoza wrapper and fold ends to make a sealed dumpling (I repeat!watch a you tube on how to...Super helpful ).

4. Place prepared dumplings on a tray and cover so dough doesn't dry out while making the rest.

5. Heat a large pan if oil just barely covering bottom of pan to medium heat you don't want them to burn.

Notes Giyoza wrappers are sensitive, make sure not to over expose the to air while wrapping dumplings. Keep them in the stack they comev in instead of spreading out.

6. Fry on both side still golden and then pour in 1/4 cup water to steam with lid on top of pan for 3-4 min.

7. Dip in sauce and thank me later.

coconut mango thai sticky rice serves 4

I'm not the biggest coconut person but... there are some food experiences that will become a core memory in your mind.

This rice was something I tried years ago when a Japanese restaurant opened in my hood and I never forgot it. It's the perfect side dish when you want something sweet or even served as a dessert. Pair it with a side of fish or chicken or meat. It's a real winner.

ingredients 1 can full fat coconut milk 2 cups sticky or sweet rice 1 tsp salt 1/2 cup sugar 2 tbsp corn starch 1 ripe mango

instructions 1. Rinse rice well. Cook rice with 3 1/2 cups water in insta pot or rice cooker.

2. In the meantime heat up to a simmer coconut milk, sugar and salt.

3. Add half of heated milk mixture to cooked rice and set aside.

4. Put cornstarch mixed with a bit of water

Cabbage latkes 40 min

I ran out of potatoes once but had a ton of cabbage in my fridge. And so the cabbage latke was born and they are SO SO SO good. Dip 'em in that mint tahini recipe or my fave garlic aoli and its perfection.

ingredients 1 large head cabbage skinny sliced and boiled 8 eggs 1 tbsp black pepper 2 tbsp salt 1 tbsp sugar

instructions 1. Boil sliced cabbage till soft and drain well.

2. Mix all ingredients

4 cups chickpea flour or regular if you don't have 1/2 tsp turmeric 4 tsp ground coriander 2 tbsp cumin 4 tsp chilli powder 2 tsp salt 3 cups water 2 small green chillies finely chopped large bunch of coriander finely chopped 2 large or 4 small onions cut into strips oil for frying MINT TAHINI 1 cup tahini paste 1 cup water 4 mint leaves 4 tbsp lemon juice 1 tsp salt 1 tsp garlic powder

Notes

1. Mix all dry ingredients together then add water.

2. Then add chillies and coriander and onions. Make sure batter isn't too thick.

3. Fry small portions carefully spooned into oil and don't overcrowd pan.

4. Blend mint tahini ingredients all together in blender.

The dudes go crazy over this smashed in a burger. I mean they go wild. Your welcome husbands all over the world.

Rosemary and black garlic crispy baby potatoes serves 4

If you can't tell by now i'm obsessed with a few repeat ingredients... like rosemary, scallions, avocado oil etc... this recipe is clearly no exception. The kitchen aroma that this gives off ... if it wouldn't be weird to make a potato and rosemary smelling candle I would do it. Ha! I'm writing this really late at night and my brain isn't functioning well. Excuse the quirkiness.

May delete later. Also melt cheese on top the last 5 minutes in oven for extra WOW. Late night munchies 1,000%.

Rice krispie kishka makes 3 medium loaves

If you don't know what cholent is ignore this . If you do make this. Everyone goes crazy. Fun fact ... a while ago we started making our cholent with brown rice and chicken. No beans or barley or meat. Go ahead and judge me. It's so much healthier and so goood! Let me know if you try it.

This kishka was something that was passed down to me from a rabbis wife who made it every week at the shul (synogogue) my husband used to go to when we lived in Far Rockaway. I changed it a bit but its still very similar and delish!

ingredients 1 box rice krispies not family size 2 eggs 1 tsp black pepper 1 tsp salt

instructions 1. Mix all ingredients together.

2. Split into 3 medium or 2 large portions.

3. Cut 3 pieces 9x13 size

1 tbsp sugar

parchment paper and wrap

2 tbsp oil

each portion like a candy or

1 jar carrot baby food 1 1/2 cup hot water

fold ends in well.

4. Prepare cholent and put a kishka on top to cook

I think of my friend Sharon Langert every time I make this because I am without a doubt positive she gave this to me years ago as a passover recipe. It's hilarious because she doesn't remember at all and i'm convinced it was her. Regardless I love you Sharon! Your always inspiring me to eat healthier and this recipe is definitely ROCKSTAR status. It's super low fat , filling and scrumptious !

ingredients 2 heads cauliflower boiled or 1 large frozen bag defrosted 3 Tbsp olive or avocado oil 4 cups coarsely chopped and fried leeks (white and pale green parts; from 3 large) 8 large eggs 2 TBSP salt TOPPING 2 cups toasted slivered almonds 1 bunch fresh dill or scallions or both 1 tsp salt 2 tbsp olive or avocado oil
