Harry Connick, Jr. Lights Up the Broward Center Stage for the Broward Performing Arts Foundation "ANNUAL CELEBRATION 2022" It was an evening of highlights, and the brightest of all was Harry Connick, Jr. who lit up the stage at the Broward Performing Arts Foundation’s Annual Celebration. The event, presented by Dr. Lee and Brigitte Mandel and the South Florida Sinus and Allergy Center, raised $678,000 for the education and enrichment programs of the Broward Center for the Performing Arts.

There were enough special moments to keep guests entertained all evening long. They started with a pre-show cocktail reception on the Wendt Terraces at the Huizenga Pavilion before moving into the Au-Rene Theater for Connick’s spectacular performance. Once in the theater, it was like old times with a full house and an audience eager to celebrate the return of live performances. It had been two long years, and people were ready to party.

After the performance, as the stage was being transformed into an elegant supper club, guests were served champagne at their seats and Broward Performing Arts Foundation chair Richard Welch, Foundation president Lisa Kitei and Broward Center president & CEO Kelley Shanley spoke to them from the stage. Welch proposed a toast to the return of live theater and the resiliency of the Broward Center staff. “Congratulations to everyone who made this possible,” he said. “Let’s have some fun tonight.”

Kitei and Shanley both recognized the supporters of the Center. Kitei thanked the Celebration sponsors, underwriters and guests. “The people in this room are the people who kept us going every night, not just tonight, and for that we are very grateful,” she said. Shanley, too, spoke of the important role played by the Center’s supporters and staff in getting through the pandemic. “We got here with the help of our friends,” he said. “We are able to enjoy this evening together because of all the people who believed in us and did what they needed to do in order to bring us to the other side.”

At the conclusion of his remarks, Shanley announced dinner by saying, “We are coming down to pick you up and take you on stage with us.”

And to the cheers of more than 350 guests, the thrust of the stage was lowered, the curtain was raised, and everyone stepped onstage to enjoy dinner and dancing for the rest of the evening.

Agent Hires Jetski Stunt Guy to do Flips in a Pool for Marketing!

A seven-bedroom mansion listed for $4.9 million comes with all the usual high-end amenities expected in luxe estates - stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, and hardwood and marble floors.

But it's the pool that is one of the greatest standouts of the Parkland home whose sale is being handled by Austin Bergman of the Carroll Group.

At 140,000 gallons, it includes a swim-up bar, Jacuzzi with waterfalls and fire features.

"It's the largest pool I've ever seen in a private residence," Bergman said. "When I first saw it I said to myself I need a jet ski in the pool, so I went on a hunt. I put Jet Ski in a pool into google and one stunt guy popped up named Mark Gomez, only one problem he lives in Arizona. I reached out to Gomez anyway to see if he had any ideas. He just so happened to be doing the Florida state fair and just so happen to have all his ski's with him."

I met Gomez and his sponsor Black Rifle Coffee at the home for the shoot, after numerous backflips, front flips and huge waves coming out of the pool we had what we needed.

Common backyard pool sizes are more in the 20,000-gallon to 39,600-gallon range.

Still, while 140,000 gallons is nothing to sneeze at, it's not the largest residential pool in the U.S. The Tampa Bay Times featured a 200,000-gallon pool in a story last year.

But the mother of all pools may live in El Campo, Texas.

According to Curbed.com, a mansion in El Campo boasts a "tropical getaway" that includes a 750,000-gallon pool with a 500-foot lazy river and six waterfalls.

To compare, an Olympic size swimming pool has about 660,250 gallons of water.

Bergman's listing at 7272 NW 62nd Terrace has 11,794 total square feet on 2.2 acres of land. Built in 1999, taxes last year came in at $37,759.

Since then, Brandt has worked with notable chefs including Michelin three-star chef Jean-Georges Klein at Restaurant L'Arnsbourg; Stefan Stiller** at Stiller's Restaurant and Cooking School in 2010; Jordi Cruz** at Restaurant ABaC in Barcelona, Spain; Christian Bau*** at Victor's Fine Dining in Perl-Nennig; among others. In 2013, Brandt assumed the role of Managing Director of Engelhorn Gastro GmbH in Mannheim, Germany, the start of a seven-year run overseeing a team 130 operating nine restaurants and bars including OPUS V, for which he was honored with two Michelin stars, and Le Corange, which has a Michelin star as well.
