The Sun Never Sets

INTRODUCTION

Hirohito was one of the most controversial leaders in the 1930s with Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, and Benito Mussolini. He didn't like the Allies, so he joined the Axis and conquered puppet states, such as Manchukuo, Shaanxi and Mengkukuo. Naruhito is leading peace and democracy. His grandson Naruhito, on the other hand, is less known and less

controversial unlike Hirohito. Both have similarities and differences.

HIROHITO

Hirohito was put in power in 1926. He is controversial because he killed Chinese, Koreans, Indians and other minorities as he expanded the Japanese Empire. He had good relations with Benito Mussolini and Adolf Hitler. He invaded China in 1939 which caused the Chinese united front to happen then he killed some Chinese and took advantage of the Chinese and Korean woman and. He bombed Pearl Harbor and lost WW2. After the war two of three Axis dictators got killed, but Hirohito survived as Emperor of Japan until January 7, 1989. He was not tried by the Allies. When he died, he had his son to be his successor Akihito then Naruhito was Akihito's successor after Akihito died. Hirohito sided with the Axis in WW2.

NARUHITO

Naruhito isn't controversial compared to Hirohito. Naruhito has been in power for 3 years as the 125th Emperor of Japan. He was born on February 23, 1960 and he was formally invested in the crown of the prince in 1991. He has a daughter named Aiko and she was born 3 months after 9/11. Naruhito was a descendent of Hirohito who was a war criminal with many war crimes like mass killing and attacking neutral powers. Naruhito is interested in water policy and water conservation. He is attending the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II. He has good relations with NATO and South Korea. Unlike Hirohito, who studied science at Tokyo’s the Crown Prince’s Institute; Naruhito has a bachelor's degree in history. In July 1983 he undertook a three month intensive English course before

entering Merton College, Oxford University in the U.K. He visited Mexico in 2006 and he plays the viola, but he switched to violin. He enjoys jogging, hiking and mountaineering in his spare time. Like his grandfather Hirohito, Naruhito is the symbol of the Japanese people and nation.

CONCLUSION

In conclusion, Hirohito and Naruhito are two different beings and two different rulers. Hirohito was a very awful leader unlike Naruhito, who is a grateful leader.

A Movie Review of TheHobbit:UnexpectedJourney

What if you had friends that are loyal to you and won't leave you to die?

The Hobbit: Unexpected Journey (Directed by Peter Jackson in 2011) shows that friends won't leave you until they die. The theme of The Hobbit is that loyalty makes people brave

In the film, Bilbo Baggins sets out to a mountain that was lonely with a group of dwarves to reclaim their home, and the gold from Smaug The Dragon. Bilbo Baggins was forced into a quest to take back the Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor from Smaug, Bilbo is approached by an old man by the name of Gandalf The Grey. Bilbo has joined a decent size group of thirteen dwarves and a warrior that goes by the name of Thorin Oakenshield. Bilbo shows his Loyalty to Thorin Oakenshield by helping him with the quest and sharing the gold they got and went back to save them instead of leaving them with the ring.

Bilbo Baggins(Martin Freeman) sets out for an adventure with thirteen dwarves and Thorin Oakenshield (Richard Armitage) and Gandalf the Grey(Ian Mckellen) to obtain the lost kingdom of Erebor from Smaug(Benedict Cumberbatch) which Bilbo Baggins(

Martin Freeman) find a golden ring That Gollum(Andy Serkis) dropped in a cave.

I probably couldn't watch it when it came out since I was only 4, but my Grandmother has watched it before. When I finally got to watch it, I did like the show of loyalty and acting, but as you know I don't like these types of movies since I can't really pay attention to them. The voice acting of Smaug by Benedict Cumberbatch shows that he is smart like Sherlock Holme. This performance equals his performance in other great movies like Madagascar, The Grinch, and the Scandal in Belgravia.

Martin Freeman as Bilbo Baggins was also superb just like his performance in Captain America: The Civil War and The Christmas Carol.

The cinematography was average since new movies came out with worse CGI than before. Half of the new movies have worst CGI then a 2011 video.

My parents and grandmother would love this movie, and I give it a 3/5 since I don't really like these types of movies. I don't watch any movies, but my Grandmother loves to watch old movies like Harry Potter.

Irene Adler: A Static Character in AScandalinBohemia

In AScandalinBohemia, Dr. Watson and Sherlock

Holmes are visited by the king of Bohemia because Irene

Alder has a photo of him and her together. Dressed as an out of work groom, Sherlock goes to Irene Adler’s house and gathers valuable information from her workers: she has a gentleman caller, a lawyer named Godfrey Norton, who can be expected at the house at least once per day. Holmes goes to the ceremony. He stages a fight with some men on the street, and Irene brings him in to tend to his injuries. Once inside, he signals to Watson, who throws a small rocket into the house “Fire!’ Irene runs to a panel in her sitting room to protect the photos. the king of Bohemia and Holmes and Watson

goes to Irene's house and Norton says that she has left England with her husband. The king gives Holmes a Photo of Irene Alder because she bested him at this game.

In this story, Irene Adler is a round, static character, as shown in her relationship with Sherlock Holmes, Count von Ormstein (King of Bohemia), and Geoffrey Norton.

Irene Adler’s relationship with Sherlock Holmes is one of a femme fatale. To him she is “the woman.” Holmes likes her because she is smart, brave, and beautiful. In previous meetings, Irene outsmarted Holmes. In this story, she outsmarted him by knowing about everything he was planning to do.

So Far from the Bamboo Grove: My Book Report

Imagine if you were a Japanese refugee in Korea. This book is titled So Far from the Bamboo Grove from 1945 by Yoko Kawashima

Watkins with a sequel to My Brother, Sister and I. It was written

1986 by HarperTrophy.

Yoko lives in Nanam with her family until she needs to flee to Japan because of the Russians and Koreans that hated the Japanese people. Yoko, Ko and their mother got on a train to Seoul but it got bombed 45 miles away from Seoul. Yoko got injured from the bombing and they are forced to walk the rest of the way to Seoul. After Yoko got medical treatment in Seoul, Yoko, Ko, and their mother boarded a train to Busan. They waited for

the ship to come to Busan, Finally the ship came and they boarded the ship and they set sail to japan.

In 3 days they reached Fukuoka, Japan and took a break for awhile. Fukuoka was all in smithereens and the city was destroyed with nobody except everyone that was on the ship, they are either dead or evacuated to a different part of Japan. Yoko's mother goes to Kyoto to find her family but then she has no luck with finding them. Yoko's mother went to Aomori to seek help from her parents but she found out that they died. Yoko's mother eventually dies on the same day, leaving Ko and Yoko to wait for their father and Hideyo. Their mothers last words were to keep the wrapping cloth because there was money for the children. Yoko and Ko attend School and Yoko gets bullied by some snobbish girls that call her trash girl. Yoko has a friend in the school and she called him her uncle. He worked as a waste collector. Yoko enters a contest where she has to write 65 pages on manuscript and Yoko wins 10,000 yen, news of her winning the contest is reported in the newspaper.

Hideyo bids the Korean family farewell and he reaches Busan where he finds a lot of messages on trees, poles, and the ground.

Hideyo reaches Japan and he asks the locals for directions to the street, finally he reaches his family and they are all reunited except their mom and dad.

I liked the year of this book was placed in and how we got to see a Japanese refugee look on Korea in the 1940s. I would change how the mother died and how the dad didn't get any parts of the story
