Existing architectural rhythms are respected and refined, allowing nostalgic elements to persist through updated materiality and spatial clarity. The orientation of the family room will be shifted to face the timeless fireplace. A television will be mounted above the mantle and a curved sofa will be specified to encourage close-knit gathering and maintain a traditional atmosphere in the space. The orientation of the master bedroom will be mirrored to accentuate the beautiful view, while maintaining visual access to the television.
