The objective in going to college for most people is to obtain the knowledge and degree that lands a worthwhile job. Yet being a student also affords great inroads to finding career opportunities. Why not take advantage now of the opportunities being a CCA student offers? Here are several ways to maxi mi z e you r j ob search wh i l e en rol l ed : Sp en d ti me i n th e med i a cen ters Take the facility’s tour, and learn what you can about each machine. Try to use them, if possible, to boost the quality of work in your portfolio. In the end, you’ll have a professional portfolio without the expensive cost, as well as technological knowledge about the equipment, which might just be the extra advantage you need for a specific job. Take a vari ety of cou rses ou tsi d e you r maj or Writing courses can help improve your ability to communicate well, which is essential for writing grants or proposing contracts. Graphic design and web design courses will increase your knowledge in building and maintaining your online portfolio, and exploring electives might introduce you to potential new career paths.
