Thank you for choosing to spend your entertainment dollars with RTAA today. This show is a labor of love, written about four years ago in June/ July of 2019 by young people ages 8-14, led by me. This was the first in our series of treehouse players shows written by young writers. It competed with another show to be produced earlier but the audience chose differently. Many RTAA people thought this script was so creative, silly, different, and fun that it had to be produced on the stage. So here we are. I would like to thank the wonderful staff and board of RTAA who provided me, the writers, and the cast, the opportunity to create and play in this wonderful theater and on this incredible stage. Today’s performance is all about fulfilled longtime promises and my personal appreciation for this incredible corner of the sky. Thank you to this delightful cast for their hard work and dedication to make the written words of young people come to life before our eyes. I have been truly blessed with a wonderful stage manager, two tenacious and powerhouse costumers, and dynamo props lead who is pulling double duty as he is in the cast as well. This show originated form the nursery rhyme “Hey diddle diddle” and is stylized after a cross between early American Idol, Star Wars, and a lot of 1970’s cartoon favorites. Please try not to over think this show. Get ready to sit back, laugh, clap, and smile loudly. One of the hardest things to do is to write a story for others to see, hear, and judge. Please join me in a standing ovation for our young playwrights, wonderful actors, and our dynamically interactive imaginative production.
