How we can help you achieve your Environmental, Social & Governance goals

Autism Together

Corporate Opportunities

At Autism Together, we are committed to creating inclusive, supportive environments for autistic adults, empowering them to thrive in all aspects of life, including the workplace. As businesses increasingly focus on Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG), which has replaced corporate social responsibility (CSR).

We offer tailored solutions to help your organisation become more inclusive, by getting involved in volunteering, fundraising, and receiving training to better support autistic employees and customers. Our award-winning services not only help foster a welcoming environment for the people we support, but also improve productivity, enhance team dynamics, and attract top talent from diverse backgrounds.

By working with Autism Together, your company can meet and exceed ESG objectives, while simultaneously contributing to the wider goal of social inclusion. Together, we can ensure that your workplace embraces diversity, values individuals of all abilities, and creates opportunities for everyone to succeed.

Our Charity

History & Future

Autism Together was founded in 1968 with a mission to deliver quality autism-specific care to autistic people, helping them to communicate their needs and lead more active, creative, and fulfilling lives. Over the years, we have grown from a small, local charity into one of the UK’s leading providers of autism support services, helping thousands of people achieve their full potential.

Our journey began with a deep commitment to providing tailored care and support, focusing on meeting the unique needs of each individual. We have since expanded our services to include autism-specific training, consultancy, and workplace solutions; aiming to foster greater understanding and inclusion for autistic people in all areas of life.

Autism is more common than many realise and will almost certainly affect members of your workforce and their families. Over 1 in 100 people in the UK are estimated to be autistic. Many organisations unknowingly employ autistic staff, who may be facing unique challenges in the workplace. Additionally, employees may have autistic family members and may need support.

A partnership with Autism Together can help address these challenges, by offering tailored support both for your employees and for their families. We can help raise

Learn more about Autism

• Autism affects 2.8m UK families, with around 700,000 people having a diagnosis.

• Autism is 4 x more common than cerebral palsy and 17 x more common than Down’s Syndrome. However, as a ‘hidden disability’ –meaning there is no obvious physical sign of a person’s autism – people are less aware of the condition and its traits.

awareness, improve understanding, and implement strategies that foster an inclusive and supportive work environment. This will not only enhance productivity but also help reduce workplace stress for employees who may be balancing the needs of an autistic relative.

By working together, we can create a workplace culture where everyone feels understood, supported, and empowered to succeed – regardless of the challenges they may face.

Looking to the future, at Autism Together we are dedicated to continuing our efforts to drive change. We are focused on expanding our impact by developing new partnerships, enhancing our resources, and advancing the conversation around autism acceptance and inclusion in society and the workplace. Our vision remains clear: a future where autism is understood, embraced, and supported, allowing all individuals to thrive in a world that celebrates their differences.

• Autism is an example of neurodiversity, an umbrella term which refers to differences in the way a person thinks, processes information, and behaves. Other examples of neurodiversity include ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, and Tourette’s.

• Males are 4 x more likely to be diagnosed as autistic than females. One reason is thought to be because females are better at masking their condition from a young age.

Ways you can help...

Corporate Volunteering

Autism Together is extremely unique in that it can accommodate groups of volunteers ranging from small numbers to larger groups of 20 plus, something that very few charities are able to offer.

Our volunteer days take place at various sites across Wirral and Cheshire, including our residential homes, supporting living properties, and our day service which include our farm and woodlands. Volunteering mostly takes place outside and tends to include physical work like weeding, clearing, and painting.

Many charities charge upward of £50, per volunteer, per day. However, we do not charge a fee for providing the opportunity for corporate employees to come and experience the benefits of working together outside of their everyday employment environment.

We work hard to ensure that our corporate volunteers have a thoroughly enjoyable day, and they always want to come back. We provide publicity for companies who volunteer with us, which is hugely beneficial for their ESG, and positive for their reputation too. Most volunteers share photos and details about their volunteer days on social media, and Autism Together will do so too, with your permission.

We will also provide the risk assessments, insurance details and even a catered for lunch from our charity café at an additional cost. If you are interested in a volunteer day with us, do get in touch and we can share more details, including giving a pretour of the site.

EE volunteers attended in summer of 2024 and left the following feedback:

“Our team loved being able to not only help with the facilities that will benefit the residents, but also the animals. It was really fulfilling to be able to see the positive impact that Autism Together has on the environment, the staff, the residents and the local community. Interacting with everyone on site, was wonderful! The whole day left the team with not just dirt under their nails, but with joy in their hearts and memories that would sprout smiles for seasons to come!”

Event Sponsorship

We have a variety of sponsorship packages available, and we would love it if you could support us in any of these. Our biggest even of the year is our Autism Together Awards evening, which showcases the incredible achievements of our staff and people we support during the year.

We also offer sponsorship opportunities across a range of activities, including our autism friendly Santa’s Grotto, challenge events and building projects. Get in touch to find out what opportunities we currently have, to suit all budgets. Also at each awards we have the prestigious category of “Business Supporter of the Year” which is awarded to the company that has made the greatest impact of working in partnership with Autism Together.

Amazon Wishlist

Throughout the year we manage our charity’s Amazon Wishlist. It is full of items requested by the people we support or their support staff. The items on the list are chosen as a way to enhance skills and increase activities for the people we support. Often, instead of donating money to our charity, people choose to purchase wishlist gifts instead. We make sure the items available can be purchased online and will suit a range of budgets. The items are also sent directly to us, so we can deliver them, personally, to the services that requested them.

Scan our QR code to see our current wishlist now.

At Christmas we can provide gift tags with items listed on them. Each gift tag relates to a person we support and you can personally donate by buying them a small token gift for the festive season. You can display these on your company Christmas tree and encourage colleagues and customers to purchase a gift for our charity, maybe instead of sending Christmas cards that year. We provide the tags and posters… you bring the joy!

In order to thank you for your support...

Companies who provide a minimum of £5k investment in a year to the charity via sponsorship, fundraising, or training, will receive a complementary session from our award-winning Learning Culture Team, on ‘autism awareness and acceptance’ for up to 25 delegates.

This can be delivered onsite for organisations within a reasonable distance of our offices in Wirral, Merseyside. We can also deliver a range of bespoke autism training packages for businesses, some of which are listed on the next page.

As a charity, we offer many different ways for companies and their employees to get involved with our work. Like any partnership, it is essential that both organisations work together to achieve a mutually beneficial result. We will always discuss your aims and goals with you, to agree a plan that will help you meet those priorities, whilst also supporting the work of Autism Together.

The significance of Environmental, Social & Governance lies in its ability to enhance a company’s reputation, build customer loyalty, and attract and retain employees who value ethical practices.

The benefits include:

• Increased visibility and revenue.

• Brand recognition.

• Business image and reputation.

• Networking and marketing opportunities.

• Exposure to different sectors.

• Boosting office morale and encouraging teambuilding.

• Defining corporate identity.

• Improved public relations.

• Enhanced employee relations and employee retention.

• Donating goods or financial support to a charity is tax deductible.

Training Opportunities

We have an award-winning Learning Culture Team and can offer full or half-day training courses which raise autism awareness and provide easy to implement strategies for customers, while encouraging inclusion and acceptance to autistic people.

Autism Together is now an approved provider of Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training for Learning Disabilities and Autism – this is now a requirement for all health and social care staff, and it can also be rolled out to other businesses. The course is different in that it is co-delivered by autistic people and those with learning disabilities.

We offer a range of other courses, covering a variety of topics relating to autism. Employers find these courses beneficial in gaining a wider understanding of autism, benefiting their autistic staff and customers. Training can be delivered at your place of work, our own site, or virtually. Our course topics include:

Autism Acceptance

Autism and Sensory Differences

Autism and Mental Health

Autism and Communication

Pathway to Work Scheme

At Autism Together we like to help empower and encourage people we support into developing further independence skills. Our Pathway to Work scheme enables them to do just that, by taking work placements with approved employers, while receiving continued support from our team.

We are always looking for new businesses to help provide new work placements and to work with us to provide more opportunities for the people we support.

If your business would like to help support this scheme by offering a work placement, then please email the team to for more information: enquiries@autismtogether.co.uk
