Tell Us about your healing journey.

My healing began when all the phone calls and the visits stopped after my husband's funeral. It hit me that he would not be walking through that door again. I started Seminary school and the worship class helped me, but I was still numb. Then God began to remind me that He already put in me everything that I needed to survive this devastating time in my life. He told me to write a book about this chapter of my journey. As I began to write the book that is when the healing started to unfold.

What key lessons from your journey have helped you to grow? One lesson I learned from this chapter of my life is that God truly equips you with what you need to complete the journey.

When unexpected circumstances of life came up, it was only God that kept me through the heartache and pain.

Another lesson I learned from this experience is that everything that I wold need to get through the most challenging time of this journey He already had deposited inside of me. God was making and molding me all along into who He had called me to be.

The last lesson I learned was that I had to trust God and use what he deposited down inside of me. He indeed brought me through. He truly will make "all things work together for the good for them that love God and who are the called according to his purpose." Romans 8:28

Tell us about your book.

It is a testimony from the last chapter of my journey. It is not just for married people, it is for singles as well. It will share insight on how God indeed keeps His promises to us. The question becomes have we prepared ourselves for the promise? The love story was not accidental.

When unexpected life circumstances came up, only God kept me through the heartache and pain. And now that I have come through the most challenging time in my life, how did I move on?

What key lessons from your journey have helped you to grow?

Well, my healing began when I accepted that I was on a new path and that I had a purpose in telling my healing journey. Learning to trust the healing process, I developed patience. Another key lesson is to write your story. Develop intimate time to do so.

There’s someone out there waiting, anticipating hope and a breakthrough. Your story can be the answer to their prayers.

Tell us about your book.

My book, THE SHAWNISE CHANTELL STORY: GOD WITHIN THE LILY, ignites a global social discussion; its harrowing, miraculous, inspirational, lifealtering, and powerful history engages readers to think and act on social change regarding Maternal Mortality/Morbidity issues and Women's Health.

It also invites readers to experience the power of God, His love for us, and his ability to grant supernatural healing, life or death. Finally, the book is my courageous attempt to share my painful story and recollection of events with the world, how I almost lost my life and gain salvation!

Share a few publishing tips with Aspiring Authors.

Platforms such as CW50 Detroit and the Telegram News have shared her story. Kimberly is an accomplished author of two books and plans to release her third book in the fall of 2022.

One of her most outstanding achievements is being a pastor’s wife and a mother of four. She is also a proud member of Michigan Association of Female Entrepreneurs (MAFE), the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), and Indie Business Network.

My husband and family are everything to me. It has brought us closer. We appreciate life on a deeper level and our drive to do our purpose has only intensified. Our careers, businesses, and my husband's pastoring has kept us busy. It is important to focus on leaving a legacy for our children as well.

Also during my healing journey, both of my parents ended up getting cancer and dying. My dad died right before I started radiation and my mother died 82 days after him and I just completed radiation.

What key lessons from your journey helped you to grow?

Tell us about your healing journey.

My healing journey was long and extensive. It took a whole year in active treatment. Diagnosed in May of 2017, I had to undergo several surgeries, 16 rounds of chemotherapy, 15 of which were completed, and six weeks of radiation. I did most of this without my children, church family, and some friends and family knowing.

God is my source. I owe everything to Him. Without Him, my mind would be all over the place. I continued to serve in ministry at my church, allowed me to minister to myself and others simultaneously.

I learned a lot about myself and had to fall in love with myself again. Body-altering surgeries, medications that mess with your mental space, and dealing with the hand I was dealt with gave me appreciation of how strong I am.

Finally, this experience allowed me to get back to my purpose: to inspire, motivate, and transform people's lives. I get to share how I made it through such a dark time and can provide tools for them to make it through. Seeing my story's impact makes the long sick days, pain, and tears worth it!

Tell us about your book.

Survivors often say life after active treatment is the most challenging part of the healing journey, yet resources tend to die down during this phase. This 30-day health guide will help you navigate your emotional, physical, and mental health. You will receive real life experiences and knowledge with raw honesty while receiving the comfort of knowing YOU ARE NOT ALONE!!!
