Meet Winona L. Thomas, the founder of Authors on the Rise Digital Magazine & Kiras Publishing, LLC. Multi-talented, Winona L. Thomas is a Certified Professional Author Coach & Author of 5 books, Teacher, Host of Author's on the Rise IG Media Platform, Inspiration Speaker, and is seen as one of Metropolitan Detroit's rare treasures. Kiras Publishing was birthed out of Winona's own personal struggle of trying to get her first book published, which almost played out in a courtroom drama. It is because of the challenges Winona faced as a first time author, she made a decision that no author should have to be discouraged during the publishing process because of someone else's lack of integrity when it comes to handling your book project. Winona has positioned herself as a resource & expert to help guide aspiring new authors through the publishing process!

Authors on the Rise 7l Joy Comes In The Morning Anthology

I have had to overcome many adversities that I was faced in life. Even though I had my daughter at age 17, married at 18, separated at 19, and divorced at 20, I still managed to get three degrees including recently receiving my doctorate. I have loss both parents and all my siblings to include 3 sisters and a brother , which began my journey into coaching. When did your writing journey begin?

Who is Dr. Vernessa Blackwell? Vernessa Blackwell, I am a mother and grandmother of 7 Gi Gi of 1 I am a #1 Amazon Best Selling author of 19 books, award-winning international inspirational speaker, grief coach, and United States Army veteran. I am on a mission to help people to live the life they imagined. I have also helped over 300 authors become Amazon Best Selling Authors.

My journey as a writer didn't start last night. I have always been someone who loved to learn and express my ideas. Talking may not always been my strong suit, I resorted to writing my feelings and thoughts on paper. The first genre of writing I plowed into my tender years was creative writing, it started after I read a story that my friend wrote back in elementary school. MY WRITING GOT BETTER. As obvious as it sounds, writing did make me become a better writer. We all know the saying "practice makes perfect" and it's almost impossible to keep doing something repeatedly without getting better at it, so when I say writing has improved my writing skills, it truly has.

What is your inspiration to write the anthology Joy Comes in the Morning? I am a Joy Restoration Coach I love to help others to find Joy. My hope is for the readers to see that we have all faced adversities, trials, and tribulations, Our authors are sharing prayers, scriptures and devotionals to help you to restore your joy! If you just hold on. Joy will come in the morning. I also want the 89 co-authors to become inspired to start their own writer’s collective and create something outstanding. I believe that everyone has a story.

What publishing tips can you share for aspiring authors? If you are a new author, I would highly recommend you join a collaboration. You will learn that there is a lot more that goes into planning, writing, publishing, and promoting in an anthology.

In the meantime, if you are a fiction or non-fiction writer, You will discover effective ways to: • build your email list • gain colleagues • do something beneficial for the world • Have FUN! • It is a way to build creative and supportive relationships with other authors Writing is mostly a solitary job. As a full-time author, I can go weeks without talking to anyone, By working in a collaboration, I have new and long-term friends that I can Zoom with, call anytime, and share the writing journey. There is nothing more satisfying than hopping on a Zoom call with your fellow coauthor/s and talking about the collaboration. However, I have some advice. Be sure when you join a collaboration or anthology it is on a topic that resonates with you. You will meet other authors and if you want longevity, be sure to connect and collaborate and enjoy the journey.

What is one takeaway you want readers to gain from Reading Joy comes in the Morning? Joy Comes in the Morning is a devotional with 90 authors with a wide range of topics. With various purposes. Some focus on health parenting, grief, marriage etc. to inspire and encourage you through some of the difficult times that we face in life, my goal for the Joy Restoration Series is to create a resource for individuals struggling with grief and loss and help them to restore joy, To help them to learn how to apply scriptures to life situations and learn to study the word and any passage to life’s journey.

MEET PHENOMAL CO-AUTHOR PASTOR MARILYN FENDERSON JOY COMES IN THE MORNING Why was it important for you to be apart of the Anthology Joy Comes In The Morning? It was important for me to be a part of the anthology because after the loss of my mother, I experienced depression that lasted for about six months. When I saw the vision for Joy Comes In The Morning, I knew it was important for me to write about my loss and how staying in the presence of God helped me to work through it. There is Pastor Marilyn healing in our testimonies, and it is cathartic Fenderson to share our stories so that others will know that there is life after death and that joy really Pastor Marilyn Fenderson is the does come in the morning.
