Fees

All requests for refunds must be made in writing (email accepted). Refund of fees will only be given if requested at least 72-hours before the first scheduled class meeting. There is a $25 service fee for cancellations. No refunds will be granted after class start date. A complete refund (no processing fee) will be made if AAE cancels a class. Please carefully choose your classes.

All Guests 18 years of age or older may enroll in adult education classes with no residency restrictions.

Fees are based on a minimum number of enrolled Guests. Fee-based classes may be canceled, hours reduced, or fees increased if minimum enrollments are not achieved. No discount is given for classes missed for any reason.

Cash; Check; or, Credit Card (American Express, Discover, MasterCard, or Visa.

A bank fee applies on all returned checks.

Due to the fluid nature of unforeseen events (ex. pandemic) and/or natural disasters, an extenuating circumstances refund policy may apply for course refunds.

Automatic refunds (no processing fee) will be processed by AAE if a class is canceled due to the unforeseen event and/or natural disaster.

If a class is postponed due to the unforeseen event and/or natural disaster, and you are unable to attend the postponed class as scheduled, a full refund (no processing fee) will be granted provided Guests notify the AAE office within 72-hours of class postponement announcement.

If the class instructional platform is changed due to the unforeseen event and/or natural disaster (ex. face-to-face changed to online/distance learning, etc.) and a Guest has already attended the initial class instruction, but now wishes to cancel the class due to the change of instructional platform, a prorated refund will be issued and a $25 service fee will be applied.

Acalanes Adult Education does not permit the formal or informal auditing of classes. All Guests attending courses must be officially registered for the course(s) and pay the associated fees.

This policy ensures equitable access to educational resources, maintains accurate enrollment records, and protects the integrity of our academic program. It also ensures that all Guests benefiting from instructional resources contribute appropriately to their cost.

No exceptions to this policy will be granted.

Any individual found to be attending a class without official registration will be asked to leave the classroom. Instructors are empowered to enforce this policy in their classrooms.

Open enrollment testing for the English Language Learner (ELL) program is conducted on a daily basis to accommodate the diverse schedules of prospective Guests This ongoing availability ensures that families can initiate the assessment process without lengthy delays, facilitating a smoother transition into academic support

To participate in these testing sessions, interested Guests are required to communicate directly with the office staff The office personnel are responsible for scheduling appointments, providing detailed information about the testing process, and addressing any questions or concerns that Guests may have It is essential for Guests to engage with the office staff to ensure proper registration and to receive specific instructions regarding the location, time, and necessary enrollment information for the ELL program This direct communication helps in tailoring the testing experience to individual needs and ensures that all logistical arrangements are handled efficiently
