Multiple camps for different age ranges and interests are available. Art & Music Camp for Special Needs is open for those living with traumatic brain injuries, cerebral palsy, and other physical and developmental disabilities

AIKEN LEADERSHIP IN TRAINING

June 2 through July 18

Ages 13-15

9 a.m. – 4 p.m.(Early drop off at 7 a.m. and late pickup by 6:00 p.m. are available.)

Over the course of 7 weeks, the L.I.T.s will participate in various activities focused on adventure, leadership, and giving back to the community. L.I.T.s will spend time outdoors servicing our community through a variety of projects as well as assisting with YMCA Summer Camp. By the end of the program, your teen will learn to embody the four core values of the YMCA: Honesty, Caring, Respect, and Responsibility.

Participants must complete and submit an application (this can be found at our front desk), as well as a phone interview. Applications will be reviewed and approved by the Camp Director.

AUGUSTA SOUTH LEADERS IN TRAINING

May 26 through August 1

Ages 13-15

9 a.m. – 4 p.m.(Early drop off at 7 a.m. and late pickup by 6:00 p.m. are available.)

Over the course of 10 weeks, the L.I.T.s (Leaders in Training) will engage in a variety of activities centered around adventure, leadership, and community service. L.I.T.s will have the opportunity to spend time outdoors, working on meaningful community projects and assisting with YMCA Summer Camp programs.

To participate, teens must complete and submit an application, available at our front desk, and complete a phone interview with the youth program coordinator. All applications will be reviewed and approved by the Camp Director.!

CODING

4 KIDS — VILLAGE ENGINEERING

July 23-27

Rising 3rd-5th graders 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m.

In this two-part camp students will interact with VEX Go Robotics for half of the day and then use our computer lab to design video games in Roblox Studio and Make Code Arcade. Student will learn to collaborate with teammates and design innovative solutions to global problems, all while using the VEX Robotics GO System. Learn to program your robots to complete several rover missions throughout this week of camp. Campers will combine coding, construction, and robotics as they work through the engineering design process to

develop unique and inventive solutions to rebuild houses, plant and weigh crops, lift the water tower, and more.

COMPUTER SCIENCE EXPLORATION

June 16-20

Rising 9th-12th graders

8:30 a.m.-3 p.m.

Students will work on their own and together to complete projects and challenges. If you have always been interested in CS but not had a chance to explore it, this is your chance! No prior experience is needed to attend this camp. You will also have a chance to tour the USCA School of Engineering and Science and hear from students, professors and industry professionals about what it is like to pursue a career in Computer Science.

CYBER/CODING PATRIOTS

July -11

Rising 6th-8th graders

8:30 a.m.-3 p.m.

The Cyber portion of the camp is designed as part of the National Youth Cyber Education Program created by the Air Force Association (AFA) to inspire K-12 students toward careers in cybersecurity or other science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines

critical to our nation’s future. Campers will also learn basic coding skills by utilizing VEX Robotics. They will complete several engineering and coding challenges using the robotics equipment. Basic knowledge of computer hardware (knowing how to use a mouse, browse the internet, identify common computer icons, etc.) is helpful but not necessary.

FULL STEAM AHEAD — ADVENTURE!

OUTDOOR ADVENTURE CAMP

June 2-20

July 7-25

Ages 11-13

This program is designed to incorporate fun, and adventure in a safe environment. We will take local off-site field trips on Mondays and Tuesdays, with overnight trips planned for Wednesday through Friday (weeks 1 and 3). Campers will travel frequently weather permitting in order to provide them with exposure to a variety of activities. Activities may include but are not limited to: swimming, hiking, biking, rafting, ropes courses, zip lining, bowling, surfing and other fun filled outings.

STEM FORWARD CAREER EXPLORATION

Rising 8th-12th graders 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

Learn about the vast STEM career opportunities from real-world STEM experts. Discover different job roles in STEM. The area’s top experts will guide students through different career paths and how to get started. Participants will participate in hands-on workshops designed to help students learn in a safe and fun environment and do what STEM professionals do daily. Participants will also learn directly from our mentoring STEM professionals as they travel to various on-site locations. Throughout the week, the campers will be immersed in the STEM professional community.

TEEN MURAL CAMP

Join professional muralist Jason Craig for one of two weeklong summer camps. Participants ages 13–17 years old will help design and paint an eye-catching mural in downtown Augusta. Campers should bring a sack lunch daily. Members, $175; nonmembers, $215. Includes materials, snacks, and a T-shirt.

WILD DISCOVERY CAMP

Each day campers will explore Wildwood Park’s trails, habitats, and features as they learn how wildlife survives and learning an outdoor skill or two of their own. Activities include but are not limited to hiking, tent pitching, and educational hands-on activities.

Children have the opportunity to explore their creativity and problem-solving skills while engaging in hands-on projects that stimulate their curiosity. Whether they’re designing an animated short film using clay figures or experimenting with the growth conditions of different seeds, every activity is designed to foster a deep understanding of science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics in an exciting and interactive way.

VERYVERA BEGINNER COOKING CAMP

June 9-13 AND July 7-11

Ages 8-10

9 a.m.-3 p.m.

Beginners class is reserved for our first-time chefs between the ages of 8 and 10. Each day we will be preparing 3+ recipes, gaining hands-on kitchen experience, crafting new ways to decorate and package our fabulous treats, creating crafts to cherish at home, learning a bit more about some of the foods we eat from a natural state, mastering manners, etiquette, and home management instructions to use in everyday life. This camp ends with an extraordinary banquet for the camper’s guest!

Ages 6-7

Pre-Beginners class will be held for our youngest chefs ages 6-7 years of age. Each day we will be preparing 3 recipes, gaining hands-on kitchen experience, crafting new ways to decorate and package our fabulous treats, creating crafts to cherish at home, learning a bit more about some of the foods we eat from a natural state, and mastering manners and etiquette to use in everyday life. VERYVERA ADVANCED COOKING CAMP

July 21-25

Ages 11-14, who have attended a VeryVera Cooking Camp in the past.

9 a.m.-3 p.m.

Advanced class is reserved for our most experienced and skilled chefs who have attended our summer camp for at least 1 year and are between the ages of 11–14. We will be mastering skills in the kitchen and focusing on how to put together a cohesive event. This cooking camp is sealed off with an extra-extraordinary reception for the camper’s guest!
