These are not the few bedraggled Occupy Wall Street protesters we knew in September.

Representatives from some of the most powerful labor unions in the country have arrived to march alongside the protesters, and students from New York universities joined the demonstrations this afternoon.

The protests today — which were expected to be the largest yet — began at 3 p.m. Eastern, when protesters in Zuccotti Square marched a mile north to Foley Square, met community and labor leaders, and then marched back at 4:30 p.m. The march was largely peaceful, and metal barriers and police kept the demonstrations from blocking traffic.

Many protesters carried signs or joined in chants about economic injustice, including: “Wall St. can't you see we want a fair economy!”

The reinforcements have added both size and credibility to the movement, which began Sept. 17 with a few dozen camped-out college students, and has voiced opposition against everything from corporate greed and bank foreclosures to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and unemployment.

Among the labor unions that marched today are representatives of the Chinatown Tenants Union, the Transit Workers Union, MoveOn.org, Working Families Party, United NY. See a full list here.

The first union to throw support behind the protesters was Transport Workers Union Local 100. Alexander Hotz and Alice Brennan from The New York World asked members of the TWU what inspired them to join: Students from Columbia, The New School, and NYU also walked out of their classes and marched to City Hall, before joining community and labor leaders in the protests.

“We Are The 99 Percent,” a Tumblr that has sprung up alongside OccupyWall Street, has many students among the people who have posted photos of themselves holding handwritten signs to tell the stories of what’s wrong with America: “i am a 19 year old student with 18 credit hours and 2 part time jobs. i am over 4000 dollars in debt but my paychecks are just enough to get me to school and back. next year my plan was to attend a 4 year college and get my bfa, but now i am afraid that without a co-signer i will have no shot at a loan and even if i can get a loan i am afraid that i will leave college with no future and a crippling debt.”

The blog, despite its grainy photos and calls for help — or perhaps in spite of them — has also given the movement a sense of legitimacy.

The movement has also spread to cities like Los Angeles, Chicago, and Washington.

Gathering in McPherson Square in Washington this weekend, protesters told the Post they did not have a specific goal in mind: As the movement continues to grow, politicians and celebrities alike have come out in support of the protesters.

Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke told the Joint Economic Committee Tuesday that he understands the protesters' frustrations.

“I would just say very generally, I think people are quite unhappy with the state of the economy and what’s happening,” Bernanke said. “They blame, with some justification, the problems in the financial sector for getting us into this mess, and they’re dissatisfied with the policy response here in Washington. And at some level, I can’t blame them.”

Some protesters want to “End the Fed,” anyway: This weekend, protesters were buoyed by a rumor that the band Radiohead would appear to play and support them. While the rumor turned out to be false, indie band Neutral Milk Hotel’s Jeff Mangum showed up instead and sang eight songs for the protesters: The protests have also garnered support from Lupe Fiasco, Michael Moore, Noam Chomsky, Russ Feingold, and former White House adviser Van Jones, who suggested that the Wall Street protesters were the tea party-like movement liberals needed right now.

Occupy Wall Street is also being supported by hacktivist group Anonymous, which attacked a number of corporate and government Web sites this year. According to a video message posted on YouTube, Anonymous says it will support the protesters by erasing the New York Stock Exchange “from the Internet” on Oct. 10.

The “Occupy Wall Street” protesters, who have camped out in New York’s financial district since mid-September, were joined Wednesday by members of organized labor and community groups.

“They said they needed to rescue Wall Street and the Big Three automakers to stimulate the economy and that meant jobs. Three years later, there is still no jobs," said one speaker.

The rally included truck drivers, teachers, nurses and transit workers, among others, protesting unemployment, corporate money’s influence in politics, and the 2008 bail-outs to big Wall Street banks. Bruce Hamilton is president of Local 1700 of the Amalgamated Transit Workers:

“We want to have a decent life. We want to save our planet. We want to have the right to decent transportation and clean air and water and a decent standard of living. That is being taken away from us by Wall Street, that is why we are here," he said.

Protestors say that the United States is becoming a land ruled by a tiny financial elite - while 99 percent of Americans are finding it difficult to get jobs or pay the rent. Sandra Falwell is an organizer with the nurses’ union. She says people are increasingly unable to afford medical care.

“We are nurses who come here from around the country who come here to support Occupy Wall Street. As you have probably heard from our movement, we are now saying that Wall Street has sold us out. In other words, Wall Street got bailed out, we got sold out," she said.

The Occupy Wall Street protesters, mostly people in their 20s, marched uptown to join the labordominated rally near New York City Hall. A brass-band played celebratory music in the park as they arrived.

As the protests continue and spread to other U.S. cities, several Democratic members of Congress issued statements of support. And college students around the country staged walk-outs in support.

The Riots Are Getting Closer October 4, 2011

Something big is about to happen, says an Obama activist. Stock markets are acting like there is another hidden Lehman Brothers ready to explode. The euro is plummeting. The S&P is hitting new lows.

Greece is desperately trying to pay impossible bills. Europe’s biggest banks are flirting with bankruptcy. The eurozone appears to be disintegrating.

Back in America, things are getting more friable too.

“October is going to be the turning point,” said Van Jones, the disgraced former Obama administration “green jobs czar.” America is about to experience “an American fall, an American autumn, just like we saw the Arab Spring,” he said on Thursday.

“You can see it right now with these young people on Wall Street. … We’re going to have an October offensive to take back the American Dream and to rescue America’s middle class.”

On Saturday, 700 “Occupy Wall Street” activists were arrested for jamming up the Brooklyn Bridge in order to gain media attention. The protesters chanted slogans like “Jobs Not Cuts” and carried signs such as “Eat the Rich.”

The protests may be spreading now, too. Smaller demonstrations in Chicago, Denver and Los Angeles were also reported over the weekend, with people protesting everything from higher gas prices to lack of medical insurance.

So far, no one organization seems to be driving it. But that may be about to change.

If Van Jones has his way, these relatively peaceful protests will be only the beginning. Van Jones is in the midst of a dramatic push to establish an alliance of labor unions, environmentalists, minority groups, globalists and angry youth protesters to “counterbalance” the growing strength of the Tea Party movement.

Yesterday, today and tomorrow, Van Jones is taking part in a huge summit to create an alliance of “progressive” forces to push the nation’s agenda further left. It’s called the “American Dream Movement,” says Jones. Some unions have already begun providing support for the protesters.

But where would Jones’s “American Dream” really take America?

Van Jones, a reportedly reformed communist, is the founder of the radical black empowerment group Color of Change. According to this group’s website, not only does the U.S. government not represent black Americans, it purposefully left hundreds of thousands of black and minority people “behind to die” in New Orleans because they were not white.

He also has strong views about the war in Iraq, which he says was just a pretext to get the oil.

According to Van Jones, America has a huge debt it needs to repay its minority groups. He said Native Americans, for example, had been pushed down and locked out of the pollution-based economy and needed to be lifted up in his new green economy. America needs to give them back their stolen land, wealth, dignity and respect they deserve, he said. The government needs to make sure women get paid more. And it needs to stop purposefully spraying chemicals on and poisoning “our immigrant brothers and sisters to get the food we want to eat.”

It is about “social justice,” says Jones. And that means monetary payments and legislated advantages for repressed racial and sexual minorities.

Jones also gained notoriety for being associated with the “9/11 Truther” organization that claims the U.S. government was involved with causing the 9/11 terrorist attacks. He has since said his name was appropriated by the group without his consent.

But perhaps most notably, Jones was also a founding member of storm (Standing Together to Organize a Revolutionary Movement), a radical Marxist organization committed to creating revolution in America. One publication produced by the now disbanded storm claimed the organization looked “towards the revolutionary traditions of Third World communism and found valuable and inspiring models for revolutionary change.”

Is today Van Jones’s moment? Will he be able to help found another organization that will finally accomplish his goals? In a 2008 Uprising Radio interview, he said America needed a “complete revolution” to “transform the whole society” away from capitalism. Will he be able to channel the outrage manifest in the Wall Street riots, and the bad economy, toward his goal?

Mr. Jones certainly seems to think so. In a February article he said the nation needed to look to the union heroes in Madison, Wisconsin, for inspiration. The “spirit of Madison” needs to spread to all 50 states, he said.

He said a “rainbow force” of unions, veterans, students, faith leaders, civil rights fighters, women’s rights champions, immigrant rights promoters, lesbians, homosexuals, bisexuals, transgenders, those questioning their sexual orientation, environmentalists, academics, artists, celebrities, community activists, elected officials and more were joining forces to stand up “for what’s right.”

And what exactly is right? Jones elucidated in his Huffington Post article “Introducing the ‘American Dream’ Movement.” It includes:  Reducing government spending by cutting “corporate welfare” for oil, agriculture and military companies—but not for heavily subsidized green energy companies.  Protecting the “heart and soul of America” by empowering teachers, nurses and first responder unions.  Guaranteeing “the health, safety and success of our children and communities by leaving the muscle and bone of America’s communities intact”—whatever that means. It is possibly a reference to giving illegal immigrants immunity from deportation.  Opposing any changes to union “collective bargaining” laws, which are really “taxpayer extortion” laws.

These are not extreme ideas—they are “commonsense ideas” that can rally Americans to once again stand up and dream, he says. People can take comfort knowing that this great nation “will ultimately pull its answers—not from its ideological extremes—but from its deep, moral center,” just like the Wisconsin union workers did.

“Make no mistake about it: This is our ‘Tea Party’ moment,” says Jones.

America is indeed verging on a pivotal moment in history. The nation is divided, it is financially broke, radicals are reaching for power, disgruntled masses are ready to be manipulated—and most important of all, despite what Van Jones claims, there is no “deep, moral center” in America that will magically save it.

America’s “deep, moral center” may have existed in the past, but it is long gone.

The good news is there are answers to America’s economic, social, political, and moral problems— but they will not come from within itself. The answers are there if anyone is willing to really look for them. You just have to go to the Source of morals.

America needs a real moral revolution—that is true. But if we are not careful, the American Dream Movement could quickly become an American autumn nightmare.

Eventually we are going to see an explosion of anger and frustration on the streets of America that is going to be absolutely unprecedented. Occupy Wall Street is just the beginning. If most Americans could see what is coming next, it would chill them to their cores.

Growing up, most of us were taught that if we wanted to change things in America, we could do it at the ballot box. Well, today large numbers of Americans are realizing that both major political parties have been bought and paid for. They are realizing that things never seem to change no matter who we vote into office. They are realizing that signing petitions or sending letters to our "representatives" does not accomplish anything.

As the frustration of average Americans has grown, it has given rise to new political movements.

So far, the Tea Party movement has been the most prominent, and it has been dominated mostly by Republicans.

Now, Occupy Wall Street is becoming a national movement, and it is being dominated mostly by radical leftists and socialists.

Both movements have attempted to appeal to the growing core of libertarians in this country, and to a certain extent both movements have had some success.

But what all of this represents is a fundamental shift in the way that Americans view political change.

Americans no longer trust that politicians will listen to them. All of the recent polls show that satisfaction with the government is at an all-time low. People are deeply frustrated and large numbers of them simply do not believe that the traditional ways of bringing about change work anymore.

America is broken, and it is getting really hard to deny it.

In America today, it takes massive amounts of money to get elected, and most of our politicians end up deeply aligned with those that have huge amounts of money to donate to political campaigns.

Most Americans today feel like they have no voice. Many also feel like they do not have a legitimate choice at the ballot box.

So what happens when millions of Americans are deeply, deeply angry about the economy and the direction this country is headed, but they also believe that the political system is so broken that voting won't do any good?

Well, we are starting to see what happens.

Today, people are marching non-violently in the streets.

Tomorrow, unfortunately, things are likely to get much crazier. Violence is not the solution to any of our problems, but sadly that is the direction we are headed as a nation. Those that are angry and frustrated tend to lash out in wild and unpredictable ways. We saw that during the London riots recently.

It would be great if a couple of "quick fixes" could be implemented and all of our economic problems would go away. But the reality of the situation is that the problems that we are facing are far more complicated than that. The truth is that the United States is in the midst of a long-term economic decline which is getting progressively worse, and this country has become deeply, deeply divided.

There is not much hope on the horizon and time is rapidly running out for our economy.

So will the Occupy Wall Street protests bring about change?

Well, there are a couple of things that are very unusual about the Occupy Wall Street protests.

One of the unique things about the Occupy Wall Street protests is that they are focused on money and economics. In the past, most mass protests in America have been about war or civil rights, but the Occupy Wall Street movement is very much focused on the economic pain that ordinary Americans are feeling.

It is also very unusual for liberals to be conducting mass protests while a liberal is sitting in the White House.

So if this is what is happening now, what is going to happen once a Republican gets elected?

That is a very sobering thing to think about.

At first, a lot of people thought that the Occupy Wall Street protests would quickly fade away.

But they haven't.

Instead, they have grown and they have spread to more cities.

For example, the other day 3,000 people protested in front of Bank of America's offices in downtown Boston.

Similar protests are now being held in San Francisco, in Chicago, in Los Angeles, in Seattle, and in Denver.

But of course New York is still the epicenter of the movement, and what happened on the Brooklyn Bridge the other day made headlines all over the globe.

Police arrested more than 700 people under very suspicious circumstances. The arrests on the Brooklyn Bridge appear to have been a staged event by the police. If you doubt this, just read this eyewitness account.

As you can see from this video, the police led the protesters on to the bridge and then stopped and formed a line in the middle of the bridge. When protesters attempted to turn around and leave in the other direction, they found that there were police behind them. Surrounded and with no way out, most of the protesters just waited to be cuffed and hauled off by police.

So was it the goal of the police to make the protesters look bad by making it look like they were blockading the Brooklyn Bridge?

Did someone that wanted to provide fuel for these protests organize this "media event" so that large numbers of Americans would sympathize with the protesters and would want to rally to their cause?

Something about that whole Brooklyn Bridge episode just feels really "staged".

In any event, it appears likely that the Occupy Wall Street movement is not going anywhere any time soon.

So exactly what do they want?

Well, the following list of complaints was taken from the "official" organizing website of Occupy Wall Street....

They have taken our houses through an illegal foreclosure process, despite not having the original mortgage.

They have taken bailouts from taxpayers with impunity, and continue to give Executives exorbitant bonuses.

They have perpetuated inequality and discrimination in the workplace based on age, the color of one’s skin, sex, gender identity and sexual orientation.

They have poisoned the food supply through negligence, and undermined the farming system through monopolization.

They have profited off of the torture, confinement, and cruel treatment of countless animals, and actively hide these practices.

They have continuously sought to strip employees of the right to negotiate for better pay and safer working conditions.

They have held students hostage with tens of thousands of dollars of debt on education, which is itself a human right.

They have consistently outsourced labor and used that outsourcing as leverage to cut workers’ healthcare and pay.

They have influenced the courts to achieve the same rights as people, with none of the culpability or responsibility.

They have spent millions of dollars on legal teams that look for ways to get them out of contracts in regards to health insurance.

They have sold our privacy as a commodity.

They have used the military and police force to prevent freedom of the press. They have deliberately declined to recall faulty products endangering lives in pursuit of profit.

They determine economic policy, despite the catastrophic failures their policies have produced and continue to produce.

They have donated large sums of money to politicians, who are responsible for regulating them.

They continue to block alternate forms of energy to keep us dependent on oil.

They continue to block generic forms of medicine that could save people’s lives or provide relief in order to protect investments that have already turned a substantial profit.

They have purposely covered up oil spills, accidents, faulty bookkeeping, and inactive ingredients in pursuit of profit.

They purposefully keep people misinformed and fearful through their control of the media.

They have accepted private contracts to murder prisoners even when presented with serious doubts about their guilt.

They have perpetuated colonialism at home and abroad. They have participated in the torture and murder of innocent civilians overseas.

They continue to create weapons of mass destruction in order to receive government contracts.

You will notice that a lot of populist and libertarian themes have been mixed in with a lot of the causes that radical leftists and socialists typically support.

So exactly who is behind Occupy Wall Street?

Well, the truth is that some very familiar names are associated with this "grassroots" movement.

A recent article posted on WorldNetDaily fingered ACORN founder Wade Rathke and SEIU board member Stephen Lerner as two of the leaders of the Occupy Wall Street movement....

In March, ACORN founder Wade Rathke announced what he called "days of rage in ten cities around JP Morgan Chase." Rathke was president of an SEIU local in New Orleans.

The planned Sept. 17 protest seems to be the culmination of Rathke's efforts.

Those efforts are being organized by Stephen Lerner, an SEIU board member who reportedly visited the Obama White House at least four times.

Lerner is considered one of the most capable organizers of the radical left.

The sad truth is that the Occupy Wall Street movement is not something new. The vast majority of the protesters seem to be Obama supporters, and there is little evidence that many of the protesters have broken out of the false left/right political paradigm that dominates our political system.

Most of the participants in the Occupy Wall Street movement openly talk about how much they admire Barack Obama, and yet 3 of the top 7 donors to Obama's campaign in 2008 were the very Wall Street banks that the Occupy Wall Street movement is protesting.

Obama's administration is littered with people that used to work for big Wall Street banks, and Obama has been really good to Wall Street.

So if the Occupy Wall Street movement was really serious about change, they would be openly protesting Obama.

But you don't see too many anti-Obama signs out there, now do you?

It would be really nice if the Occupy Wall Street movement was truly a non-political movement that was focused on bringing economic justice back to this country.

The reality, however, is that it was started by far left political groups, and a lot more very liberal organizations are now jumping on board.

Hundreds of thousands of very frustrated Americans are going to get involved in these protests without even realizing who is organizing them.

According to a recent article by blogger Alexander Higgins, quite a few very prominent unions are now throwing their support behind Occupy Wall Street....

As I previously reported unions are coming out in full force to support the Occupy Wall Street protests. We received news that the 200,000 member strong Transportation Workers Union would be joining the protests. The Teamster’s union endorsed the protests. Rumors of Verizon workers joining the protests. A scathing endorsement was issued by the Industrial Workers Union has also endorsed the Occupy Wall Street protests. Then news that several more unions had committed to or were contemplating joining the protests, while two the unions scheduled solidarity marches.

Now TPM reports even more unions are joining up to protest against Wall Street and the movement is set to grow rapidly.

The article also comes along with the news that a collective of 8 groups, with over 1 million members will be joining the Occupy Wall Street movement to show solidarity and march against the machine.

Reportedly, October 5th is being targeted as a day for mass protests to be held all around the country.

If the Occupy Wall Street movement and the Tea Party movement joined together to protest the abuses of the Federal Reserve and the abuses of Wall Street they would be a very powerful force.

But instead, the Occupy Wall Street movement considers the Tea Party movement to be the enemy.

Just consider what some very prominent leftist leaders have said recently.... *Teamsters President Jimmy Hoffa recently stated that he is ready for "war" with the Tea Party....

"We got to keep an eye on the battle that we face: the war on workers. And you see it everywhere, it is the Tea Party. And you know, there is only one way to beat and win that war. The one thing about working people is we like a good fight. And you know what? They’ve got a war, they got a war with us and there’s only going to be one winner."

He also added the following during his recent speech....

"President Obama, this is your army. We are ready to march. Let's take these son of a bitches out and give America back to an America where we belong" *Some leftist leaders believe that it is time for "war". The following is from a recent speech by The New Black Panther Party National Chairman Malik Shabazz....

We have to fight. Gird up your loins college students. Gird up your loins young black man and young black woman, for the hour of war is at hand. *Instead of working with the them, the following is what Maxine Waters recently had to say about the Tea Party....

"As far as I’m concerned, the Tea Party can go straight to hell" Of course a lot of Republicans would rather lose a limb than work with people like Jimmy Hoffa and Maxine Waters.

We are a country that is deeply divided and we seem to love to fight with one another.

Most Americans are deeply, deeply frustrated, but very few of us agree on what the solutions to our problems are.

Whenever a new protest movement arises, Americans tend to flock to it because they are searching for something that they can finally believe in.

Right now the Occupy Wall Street movement is fresh and new. Michael Moore was right when he said the following about the movement....

"These numbers will grow and they’re going to grow all across the country."

There are millions and millions of deeply frustrated Americans out there, and any movement that arises that seems to address their concerns is going to draw followers.

The banksters certainly seem alarmed about the growth of protest movements such as Occupy Wall Street.

For example, JPMorgan Chase recently donated over 4 and a half million dollars to the New York City Police Foundation....

JPMorgan Chase recently donated an unprecedented $4.6 million to the New York City Police Foundation. The gift was the largest in the history of the foundation and will enable the New York City Police Department to strengthen security in the Big Apple.

Do you really think that JPMorgan Chase just did that out of the kindness of their hearts?

As movements like Occupy Wall Street grow, law enforcement authorities will crack down on them harder and harder.

In fact, we have already seen some very disturbing incidents during the recent protests. For example, most of you have already probably seen this video of a police officer spraying mace directly into the faces of helpless female protesters.

It is almost unbelievable that such things are happening in America.

But things are going to get much worse than this.

The frustration of those on the left is going to continue to grow.

The frustration of those on the right is going to continue to grow.

In the years ahead we are going to see mass economic riots that are going to make Occupy Wall Street look like a Sunday picnic.

In response, the powers that be are going to use law enforcement more aggressively than ever in an attempt to exert control.

All of this is going to make many of our large cities hellish place to be.

The "coming economic riots" have now arrived.

America will never be the same again.

According to one recent poll, 39 percent of Americans now believe that the U.S. economy has entered a state of "permanent decline".
