Ramses, the Cheetah, at Myrtle Beach Zoo can sprint at 60 mph.

Most people do not drive that fast. The zoo sourced the animal from South Africa. The number of Cheetahs in the world is dwindling with each passing day and conservation efforts are slow.

Doc Antle and his team rescued Bubbles, an African elephant from poachers during the 1980s.

Since then the 9,000-pound elephant has become a star attraction at the TIGER preservation station. Her popularity led to a few roles in major Hollywood films as well.

MYRTLE BEACH SAFARI ZOO You may have seen a tiger and you may have seen a lion, but have you ever witnessed a liger. A liger is a hybrid born after mating between a male lion and a female tiger.

However, Hercules, the liger at t.i.g.e.r.s preservation is truly special, because it was adjudged the largest cat in the world by the Guinness Book of World Records. He weighs around 900 pounds and is almost 11 feet tall.

The liger consumes 20 pounds of meat every day.

Many other unique and rare specimens can be found across Myrtle Beach’s Zoo. Visitors can take their time to get to know about these animals and birds.

While most zoos are known to house animals, at the T.I.G.E.R.S preservation all the wildlife are treated like humans. Doc Antle believes that humans and animals can inhabit the world in peace under the right conditions. For instance, the smartest chimps in the zoo were taken out to watch a movie. Not only did these animals enjoy watching the film but were aptly dressed and well-mannered during the screening of the movie.
