CoCoGauff, a GAMECHANGER&HISTORYMAKERat 19-years-old, won the 2023Womens

9th, becoming the youngest American to win the title since Serena Williams in 1999. It was Gauff's first major title with a 2-6, 6-3, 6-2 victory against Artna Sabalenka of Belarus. Her excellence on the court had us all elated and proud of her performance. We watched her fall to the ground and sob with happiness on the tennis court at Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York City. There was a crowd of fans and celebrity A-listers who were thrilled with her tennis skills. Excitement was everywhere!!! . All were intrigued with her tennis skills. Everyone was on their feet! For the few moments she prayed after her win, I hope she could feel all of the positive energy and love we sent to her. I hope she could feel us all on the court celebrating and praying with and for her. Before embracing her family, she shared a heart sign for the camera.

S H E D I D I T !

Gauff became on of the most famous faces in tennis following her impressive performance at Wimbledon in 2019 where she reached the 4th round as a 15-year-old qualifier.

In celebration mode, Serena Williams, who Gauff said "allowed me to believe in this dream," posted n her Instagram story marking Gauff's win with the caption, "Ahhhhh!!!! Amazing!!!"

Are We Winning?

As the world continues to turn, and some people would like to erase all African American history from the records ,the question now becomes, are we winning,or are we gaining any ground?Throughout history this country has been extremely cruel to the black population. How do we level the playing field?Yes,we?ve made individual strides largely in sports and entertainment ,but across the entire spectrum of fields, where are we?

Because of the rules of the game, and the playing field not being level,I believe we as a people are approximately 100 years behind. Not bad for being in servitude for 400 years. Not bad for a people that have been subjected to every demonic attack and attempt to destroy us. I submit to you that we should be 100 years ahead of everyone, being that the DNA of the black man has 9 characteristics or chromosomes, while all other races has 4-6.

Our problem is that we have become divided. The old saying goes ,?United We Stand,Divided We Fall?.

We have fallen, into a pit,not into the grave. Our DNA is the strongest DNA on this planet. We are built to survive. Plans have been hatched over the last 75 years to tear us down. The devil has been whispering in your ear that your brother/sister is your enemy.

It is evident that their plans are working, and had it not been for God choosing us as the chosen people,we would have been systematically wiped off the face of the planet. They killed nearly all of our warrior ancestors, but it didn? t break us. They raped our women and destroyed our businesses, but it didn? t break us. They gave us rights and then made laws restricting those rights, but it didn? t break us. They segregated us and violated us in the most inhumane ways, but still ,it didn? t break us.

11

Our problem today is that we have fallen in to ?selfish mode?. Their plans are working on us without any issues whatsoever when it comes to this area of brainwashing us. We have too many super rich black folks to still be struggling as we do. We have community and elected leaders that have sold their constituents out just to make a dollar. We have Pastors and other religious leaders who care more about the tithing than the rising tide that engulfs our communities. We have fathers who are only fathers on the weekends. We have mothers who are carrying the load of mom and dad. We have babies having babies. We have 14 and 15 year old black males, ruling the streets, running gangs and killing each other in record numbers. We have issues, serious compounded issues.

So how do we fix these problems before it kills us all?Our Unity is our greatest asset, and our largest source of strength. Our division is our greatest weakness. Everyone has to have a seat at the table if we?re going to combat this pandemic head on. We have to leave our egos, attitudes, and ?isms?at the door.

Because while Trump and DeSantis are trying to load us back on those boats,McConnell and McCarthy are trying to cut our throats. While Texas,Georgia,Florida, and Mississippi are trying to reclaim the old south, the Supreme Court is being stacked with people who won? t open their mouths.

If we don? t ask for it,we won? t be looked at,and if we don? t fight for it,we will never get it.

Hope reared its head during the Montgomery Riverboat Melee. It was as if God was sending us a signal. Black people will need to refocus our collective energy and intellect, towards reclaiming who we were and who we are: the Kings and Queens of this planet. Power is never ceded without a struggle. Like Deion Sanders says,?we?re not coming,we?re here?. Prayer won? t get us there ,God has heard all our prayers. After prayer, comes work. Let?s unite,to fight,to reset the course of history right.

Health and Wellness

If you have been following mytwin ArtemusGibbonsthen you have read hisarticle about one ingredient foodsand whytheyare important when it comesto antioxidantsand fighting molecules called free radicals

Thisarticle we are passing batonsand I have the pleasure of explaining why/ what understanding free radicalsare and how/ can antioxidants(I love you brother) playan important part

I like the waythe Harvard School of PublicHealth Harvard.edu described Oxidative Stress. If we don't give our bodiesthe help it needsthen at some point over time, something isgoing to demand a balance be paid and we (our bodies) are not going to be readyfor it Almost the same asstretching Antioxidantsfight/combat against Oxidative Stress

Antioxidants: Oxidative Stress

To be clear, oxidation isa chemical lossof electronsthat occursin cellsaswell assomething assimple asrust forming on the bodyof an iron nail

So,in termsof our bodies, what antioxidantscan we take-in/ consume so that the bodyhasthem ready to deploy? Here are just a few (there maybe thousands): thingslike Vitamin C,Vitamin E,and Beta Carotene.

What isBeta Carotene?Beta Carotene isa carotenoid, and like all carotenoidsapparently, isan antioxidant which haselectronsthat don't mind traveling alone and the bodyusesto fight against oxidative stress.Antioxidantsare a way of identifying an electron "donor."Another cool fact isthat Beta Carotene isconverted bythe body into Vitamin Aalso known asRetinol.

So what isOxidative Stressand how are free radicalsinvolved.Time for some reallygeekyknow-how!

Some of thisstuff we've probablyheard off; we've heard about electrons We know that theycircle atoms. The craziest thing, like me and mybrother, theylike to travel in pairs. Now,on occasion; when we exercise, are exposed to sunlight, even harmful chemicals, electronsin our bodiesare lost! It isTHE INEVITABLECONSEQUENCESto perform dailytasksand converting all those one ingredient foodsinto energy Here isthe tricky part; when an electron in a pair (or pairs) islost the other goes"rouge"and becomesa free radical

The bodyisuse to this Chronicor excessive buildup of free radicalsin the bodyiswhat leadsto Oxidative Stress However, the rouge electron isnow searching for itspair (I alwaysknow where my brother is) and thisfree radical will steal it from wherever theycan to complete itstravel

So where do these free radicalssteal other electronsfrom? If we don't supply the bodywith antioxidants, which are naturallyoccurring in food, work alongside polyphenolsand amino acidsto help defend against diseases, theywill take them from placestheyare not supposed to; and when it comesto DNArepair and mitosis, typical in cell growth,it isa wonder whyit i sthat these things, these rouge electrons, are linked to accelerating the likelihood of developing diseaseslike cancer and Alzheimer's

That wasa bit to take in,but for our health and wellnesssection, awarenessiseverything.Every bit

Execut ive funct ion refers t o t he cognit ive or m ent al abilit ies t hat people need t o act ively pursue goals.

ADHD can im pair execut ive funct ions, t hings like:

Learning w hat your brain's challenges are is a key t o becom ing successful in any t ask and com plet ing goals. Execut ive funct ions can be judges by t he st rengt h of seven skills:

I t ruly enjoyed t he w ay Barkley broke t he brain dow n u=int o 4 circuit s-t he " What , When, Why, Who" circuit s. (addit udem agazine.com / 7-execut ive-funct ion-deficit -linked-t o-adhd/ ) ADHD has prim arily been charact erized t o 3 present at ions:inat t ent ion, im pulsivit y, and hyperact ivit y. But aft er learning about t he brain, it 's m any funct ions, and how im port ant it is t hat t hey w ork in concert t oget her, is it possible t o bare a lit t le m ore em pat hy for all of our st ruggles and t heir different present at ions t hrough our w alks or life. THE MEASURE OF YOUR SUCCESS

You can only learn so much by attending college, So pride is surely the enemy of knowledge. Sometimes we?re blind to the consequences to come, So anger is certainly the enemy of wisdom.

If you can? t wait, you could lose your existence, So greed is surely the enemy of patience.

When you tell a lie, you should lose every tooth, So falsehood is surely the enemy of truth. This one shouldn? t be a hard point to ponder, Is infamy the enemy of what we call honor?

The meaning of love, is not push and shove, So shouldn? t we call hate, the enemy of love?

Some people tell lies in order to achieve,

The bigger the lie, the more likely it is to be believed.

The strong usually takes advantage of the weak, So on the day of judgment, you?ll get what you seeked.

The air keeps the record of your words and deeds, So watch what you plant, you?ll be judged by your seeds. Success is not knowledge, nor is it gold by the pound.

Success is getting up, one more time than you fall down.

St rong Independent Black Fem ale??

What the heck is that? And why is that phrase even relevant or recognized?A strong independent Black Woman? The American Black female is the only species on the planet that is described in this way. I have never heard of a strong independent White woman. I have never heard of a strong independent Asian woman, or a strong independent Irish woman, or a strong independent Jewish woman. So why is there a strong independent American Black female only?

It is for one reason and one reason only, to separate and divide the Black female from her Black male counterpart. It is all part of a larger diabolical plan to weaken the Black male. There is absolutely no reason in this world for the Black Woman to be so independently separated from the Black male. There is no strong independent Indian woman. There is no strong independent Hispanic woman. Someone has created a culture of independence for the Black Woman only. Independence is Death. Everybody needs somebody. The Black Woman needs her Black Man just as much as the Black Man needs his Black Woman. This is why we have so much crime in our community while other ethnic communities don?t. This is why we have so many broken households. Our Black Women are now conditioned to take pride in being an independent Black Woman There is absolutely nothing good in this status for the Black community.

There are systems put in place to separate and divide the African American population Forced welfare to feel obligated to our former slave masters , forced labor in the service industry , forced housing in the housing projects where the female cannot have a man living with her. The opportunity for advanced education for Black Women is more available than for Black Men. Job promotions for Black Women over Black Men.

26

There is nothing wrong with an educated Black Woman. Black men need to step up their efforts to get that higher education But we should not be pitted against each other. We must be supportive of each other. My wife has 4 college degrees and a doctorate. She?s an elected official and some years she makes more money than me But I?m not in a competition with her, we?re a team.

We not only love each other, we love our people She?s not a strong independent black woman, she?s a strong Black Woman. To get back to our ground floor, it all starts with LOVE, the LOVEwe have for ourselves. I LOVEme a strong Black Woman, if she?s one that thinks she?s more powerful as an independent, that?s fine, but she has to know how to give up that independence once she gets with a strong Black Man. Two dominant personalities can never coexist for an extended period of time. There are a number of different obstacles in our way to renewal. We?ll be writing about most of those obstacles in these publications monthly. Each issue has to be addressed and worked on in order to start the process of our healing.

Craig& Sharon Butts of TakingTheJourney Together

The foundation of a healthy relationship lies in the word "we." As Mohmand Ali puts it, "MEWE."

This shift signifies that everyone is considerate of the other, expanding their social circles to embrace the other person for a shared experience.

Utilizing "we" implies a sense of group cohesion: a partnership, a team, a family, or a tribe. When you employ "we" or "us," you automatically align your objectives, values, and intentions with those you believe are sailing in the same boat as you. When you consciously adopt this change in how you discuss your relationships, you will observea gradual transformation in your perspective on relationships and how you respond to various situations.

The Influence of "We"-Talk in Our Relationships:

Here are the tangible advantages of emphasizing "we"-talk in our relationships:

1. **Collaborative Problem-Solving** ? "We"-talk is particularly valuable for relationships as it fosters a sense of unity when tackling challenging issues. Phrases like "We need to address this household matter" or "We must make a decision on this" are much more inviting and cooperativethan saying, "You need to handle this at home" or "I need to decide on this." "We"-talk implies teamwork and shared effort from both sides.

W e T a l k
29

2. **Celebrating Achievements** ? "We"-talk isn't solely reserved for addressing problems; it's equally powerful when acknowledging accomplishments and joyful moments. Generally, couples who cherish positive memories tend to have happier and healthier relationships. The "we" pronoun enhances this experience. Share your successes with your partner, acknowledge their contributions, and convey that your achievements wouldn't have been possible without them. Additionally, extend your happiness to others' success as if it were your own. Compliment and congratulate people, expressing pride in their accomplishments. Most accomplishments result from collective efforts, and "we"-talk emphasizes this teamwork.

3. **Everyday Use of "We"-Talk** ? In everyday conversations, we should strive to employ "we"-talk instead of "I"-talk when appropriate. Even routine discussions present opportunities to make decisions together, plan as a team, and discuss your relationship in terms of "we" and "us." While you needn't repeat "we" obsessively, be mindful of your language for a day and identify moments where you can replace "I" and "me" with "we" and "us."

In summary, embracing more "we"-talk offers numerous potential benefits, with the most significant being a fundamental shift in how you perceive the other person and the relationship.Ubuntu- ?I am, because we are; and since we are therefore I am?. Is a Southern African term and philosophy that emphasizes the interconnectedness of humanity and the idea that individuals are defined by their relationships with others. Or I am how I am because of how you are.

I always hear "the real world is hard and it's cruel"

But really it's just the people in it who rule

We value power and control over respect and love

When those virtues are what we need to rise above

The struggle the hurt we put each other through

When everyone?s goal is to be successful too

In this system we need each other to survive

But yet everyday we take each other's lives

Nobody is promised forever on this earth

So Who are we to label each other's worth

You need me just as much as I need you

Once we accept this fact the "world" will be renewed
