EDITOR’S NOTE Dear Readers, I am delighted to present the first issue of CHERISH, Atomy UK’s new digital magazine.

Our team has collaborated to bring you a series of updates, interviews, advertisements and informative articles centred around Atomy and our products.

We are super-excited to be launching Atomy UK this year, and looking forward to meeting you and growing Atomy together.

In this edition of cherish, we will be touching base on a few things before the launch, including an interview with our managing director, Ruby McGrath. And, although we will be talking about the launch, that isn’t our only focus; we will also be talking about some of our products and how to get the best out of them.

Meet Ruby AN INTERVIEW WITH RUBY McGRATH, MANAGING DIRECTOR OF ATOMY UK & EU As many of you will be aware, the launch of Atomy UK and Europe is being led by Ruby McGrath, the Managing Director. In this issue of cherish, we catch up with Ruby in the Atomy UK office.

Firstly, Ruby, we’re sat in our beautiful new office! Are you excited to have finally moved in?

Yes, despite coronavirus meaning us occupying at reduced capacity, it’s been great to have a place we can finally call “home”. An enormous amount of thought was put into creating an environment that our team would love to come to work in. It’s all about the little touches, from our complimentary supplements corner that the team can help themselves to, to climate-controlled and mood lighting adjustable soundproof booths; we’ve really put our team’s needs at the forefront of the office design.

It’s perfect! I love the Atomy Lounge area as well!

Speaking of supplements corner, what’s your favourite Atomy product?

Gosh, that’s a hard one; I have so many favourites, it’s hard for me to choose! However, if I had to pick just one, it would be the Absolute Cellactive Ampoule from the Absolute Cellactive Skincare range. I’ve always loved skincare, and I have used hundreds of different products in my time, so I can say with certainty that the Absolute Cellactive Ampoule will now be a staple of my skincare routine forever more! Not only is the smell divine, as it’s delicately fragranced with tuberose, the award winning bottle design makes it so easy to use! I am, of course, a huge lover of HEMOHim, too – how could I not be!

Just as well because you need to keep your energy up with all of the exciting things happening at Atomy UK! It’s a busy job opening a new subsidiary – talk us through a normal day for you?

That’s easy - there’s definitely no “normal” working day! However, due to the time difference, most of my days start with a conference call with HQ in Korea first thing in the morning (evening in Korea time) to touch base on the status of developments, product registrations, logistics, websitebuilding, and more. Then the rest of the day is easily filled with all the tasks that come with running a subsidiary, whether it’s approving campaigns, having one-to-one meetings with team members, or building pricing structures for our products. Some evenings or even nights there may be conference calls with other parts of the globe, which go into the early hours of the morning - that’s all part of being in a global company. I love my job because it doesn’t feel like work and I could very easily continue late into the night each day. However, I make sure to take time in the evenings to devote to being a mum and looking after my toddler before his bed time. Once it’s lights out, I’m back on the emails again!

I can only imagine your days have got busier now that you have become Head of Europe, as well as the UK. Which countries are you most excited to expand into?

I spent many years in France and Italy growing up so, naturally, they are the two countries to which I am most drawn. However, preliminary statistics show that Spain is the most active European market after the UK, so that’s becoming a focus priority for us right now. Keep your eyes peeled…

I’m sure your linguistic skills will come in handy, too [Ruby is fluent in 8 languages!]

Which language do you think you might need to add to your multilingual skillset?

Thankfully, I already speak most of the core languages we use in Atomy: Korean, Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin) and quite a few of the key European languages, too. However, I have been thinking it would be ideal to pick up some German, seeing as Germany is such a large player in the MLM world, and we will expand there at some point. Atomy as a company is so supportive of any learning that we wish to undertake, and personal development is a great passion of mine, so all of the framework is there - I just need to find time, which is easier said than done!

Talking of time, in May it will be a year since you joined Atomy.

What is your biggest achievement so far?

Honestly, every day feels like an achievement when you’re launching something from scratch. With our fresh and unique creative vision we’ve managed to establish ourselves as the benchmark for premium digital content across all of the global Atomy offices in a short space of time – and that is something I am very proud of. Also, we were recently shortlisted for 3 of the Pure Beauty Global Awards 2021. This is pretty amazing considering the fact that we’ve not even launched yet in Europe, let alone not yet a household name. Yet, we were able to come up tops against some large, established European brands solely through the quality of our products. This alone demonstrates the strength of our Absolute Quality Absolute Price strategy. Thirdly, and by no means least, I’m very proud of the team we are building here at UK HQ. We’ve got so much planned for the next few months and I can’t wait to share what the team are working on with everyone!

Ginseng Ginseng has been used in traditional Chinese medicine for centuries, but we’re often asked, “What are the benefits of Ginseng versus other supplements?”

So, what better place to answer this than in the first edition of cherish!

Ginseng contains two compounds: ginsenosides and gintonin. They work hand in hand to provide the following health benefits: 1 Ginseng is an antioxidant with anti-inflammatory properties. There is plenty more research underway to truly understand the benefits of Ginseng. Yet, it’s clear that it is a very special supplement.

TAKE TIME Take time for yourself - when feeling overwhelmed by the uncertainty we’re facing it can be overwhelming. Taking 10 minutes to ground yourself through breathing, or practicing mindfulness, can really help your state of mental wellbeing.

TOP TIPS FOR SURVIVING LOCKDOWN TALK Whether it’s with friends or family, try to stay in touch. We are lucky to be living in a world with so much technology to enable us reach out to our loved ones easily.

”Giving back” and helping others is one of our key, founding principles here at Atomy.

We had the opportunity to hold an in-depth interview with Alison King, CEO of Turtle Key Arts (TKA). Read on to discover why we love what Turtle Key Arts does, which is why it became the first UK charity we decided to support.

Before we kick off, just for anyone who has never heard of you, how would you describe in one sentence what TKA does?

We unlock creative potential and provide access to the arts for all.

We reach people and remove barriers to entry for them to access the arts.

And, of course, we make high-quality productions that people want to come and see!

How has the COVID-19 lockdown treated you?

It has been hard, as it has for many people. We’re not in our normal home of the Lyric Theatre (London) which has been a challenge. But we ‘ve moved all of our projects online, which has been surprisingly great! We’re running many projects and probably reaching more people than we have before, especially those who are really vulnerable we, as there is no concern over ALISON KING, CEO, TURTLE KEY ARTS travel to access our projects.

We’re running a singing and song-writing project online, which focuses on supporting people with dementia; and for some of our participants we are the only people they have spoken to all week. It’s really rewarding and there are some amazing creative pieces emerging, as well as the positive benefits for the participants and their families.

We’re also holding weekly dance classes online, and workshops that bring together artists who are disabled and nondisabled, across a huge age range.

We have a monthly club for people with autism spectrum condition, and we hope we will have a live art viewing of the work the club is creating.

We’ve even got two companies going into rehearsal at the moment, creating some beautiful and emotional work on loss, both parental and child; these will be performed live but will be filmed and released in a live-stream. The hope is for live performances to resume in the summer, so it’s about making sure we’re ready to get going when the time comes. It’s actually a really exciting the amount of work we have going on in these challenging times.

Wow, that is busy during lockdown! Thinking about what’s next, what are your aspirations for TKA? Well, to answer that, I should let you know about our history. We were founded more than 30 years ago by two women, both of whom are still in the business today, who wanted to create ground-breaking art which was open to everyone, and by everyone. I mean everyone – whatever age, physical or mental ability, gender or race. They wanted to create work which was truly open to all, particularly those who have been marginalised. Originally, TKA was a physical space, a theatre, but we realised that we could take our work further by becoming a performance arts company. So, we retained the ethos of TKA, but by leaving the physical venue we could work with lots of different artists across the globe. My long-term aim is to keep doing more of that: sharing our work both nationally and internationally.

How do you think Atomy can support you on this journey?

We were so touched when Ruby reached out and said she’d like Atomy to support us; and having now learned a lot more about Atomy, I really feel there is a synergy in our values, and our inclusivity of people.

I really hope we are able to bring Atomy into our projects, and through the Atomy team and connections and members we are able to connect to a wider group, and do projects in collaboration with Atomy which will make them proud. I really hope it will be a lasting and enduring partnership. And it goes without saying that Atomy’s charitable donations provide financial support to get projects off the ground, and will be a game-changer for TKA. We really can’t wait to work with you. We have a completely open-door policy and will speak to everyone. TKA is about getting the arts out there for art’s sake, not our own! For arts to survive and thrive we have to work together in partnerships.

We’re sure we will have lots of members who would love to find out more about you. Finally, if there was one message you want to leave Atomians with, what would it be?

Be creative and communicate. We believe in creating and developing art projects that can reach people. We believe in providing access to the arts for all and making wonderful projects that allow people to do that. It’s about communication, creating, friendship and teamwork. That’s our heart. It brings people together.

Spring Skin PREPARING FOR THE NEW SEASON Hi! Yasmin here, your resident Atomy UK make-up artist.

In this edition I’m going to talk about how to transition your skin care routine as we leave winter behind.

After months of harsh, cold weather, we are coming into spring.

As you know, the cold weather can drastically dry out your skin, not to mention the central heating indoors. During the winter your skin is screaming for moisture, so you need to use strong serums and oil-based moisturisers.

When spring starts to emerge and the weather becomes warmer and more humid, our skin will need something different. So here’s how to transition your skincare routine.

To get that perfect glow, start by exfoliating your skin to remove all the dead, dry skin, which builds up over winter. The Atomy Evening Care Set is ideal for this: use the peeling gel to gently remove all the dead skin and unblock your pores.

Next, think about swapping your moisturiser for something lighter or water-based. If you’re a fan of our Atomy Absolute set, start using the serum and nutrition cream in smaller amounts as these are very moisture-rich.
