“The Doug Harman Spur Collection” By Douglas Harman, PhD
My interest in spurs began in 1985 when I became city manager of Fort Worth, Texas. I wanted to learn as much as possible about my new home which is known as the city “Where the West Begins.” The Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo was the first event I attended here, and I quickly learned about the significance of the Historic Stockyards to the city’s western heritage. I took advantage of being in this unique city to learn about cowboys and their gear. On weekends, I got a personal western experience through learning how to team rope and trying to be a heeler. This was my first experience owning and using spurs. I also began buying spurs at flea markets and antique stores. In 1990, my interests in all things Western (particularly spurs) grew after I became the president of the Fort Worth Convention &Visitor Bureau. Using the wonderful display space at our visitor information center in downtown’s Sundance Square, I began showing a broad range of cowboy gear, including displays of spurs, saddles, chaps and cowboy hats. My collection of spurs and cowboy gear grew significantly during my seventeen years promoting Forth Worth as a tourist destination. In recent years, continued to collect and exhibit cowboy gear. Until recently I had an exhibit about the Chisholm Trail at the Cowboy Hall of Fame in the Historic Stockyards which included many spurs. Over the years, I became intrigued with the history and the art of the spur in other countries and cultures. LOT 5 - Highly Decorated Spurs 1 pair of very ornately decorated spurs with interesting fluted design to the shank. The maker is unknown, but was a great artist. Estimated that these spurs date to the 1920s. Highly unusual and special set of spurs.
LOT 6 - Chilean Spurs 1 pair. Great pair of large rowel Chilean spurs. These spurs are notable for the intricacies of the inlay silver design on the heel bands. It is said that this design is reflective of the Moorish designs from North Africa. The heel bands are heavy with considerable silver. Great pair of Chilean spurs dating to the 1920s.
LOT 3 - California Spurs Outstanding California set of spurs with double-mounted silver inlay and original leather straps. One of the finest examples available. LOT 7 - Argentine Spurs 1 pair. Outstanding pair of Argentine spurs. Note the bird head on the shank. The rowels have circular covers. The spurs have the round discs between the heel band and shank, which dates to the early Spanish spurs. The heel bands are highly decorated and also have silver buckles to attach the leather straps.

LOT 9 - Argentine Spurs 1 pair that are attractive, early Argentine spurs with considerable engraving thoughout the spurs. They have circular discs between the shank and heel band. The buttons are very nicely decorated. These spurs are a great reflection of Argentine spur making.
LOT 13 - Colonial Mexican Spurs A unique pair of spurs. Notable for their designs with thin rowels and heel bands. 20-point rowels and detailed punched holes in the heel band. Circa 1790s.
LOT 10 - Early Mexican Spurs This pair has heavy silver inlay and original zebra hide straps. Straps have original buckles and heel chain. Also has large 4-inch rowels and jinglebobs. One of the finest sets of spurs in this collection.

LOT 85 - Mexican Chihuahuan Spurs 1 pair. Light engraving. Type of spur used by Texas cowboys after the Civil War.
LOT 82 - North & Judd Curry Comb Metal curry comb. Patented in 1909 by North & Judd. Beautiful example of the Anchor logo on the comb. Original leather strap remains with the comb. Appears to be relatively unused. Mint condition.
LOT 86 - Early Spanish Spurs 4 single spurs. Each is an example of the typical Colonial type spur with a thin heel band and drop shank. They reflect outstanding metal work. Circa 1700.
LOT 83 - Maker Unknown 1 pair. Brass overlay with floral design on button. Brass rowel. Large chap guard. May have been made by one of the Boone brothers.
LOT 87 - Chilean Gaucho Spurs This pair exemplifies the highest quality of silver inlay design, in addition to silver patterns reminiscent of the North African Moors. The spurs includes numerous small brass ornamentation. They have large 3.5 inch rowels with heavy shanks. Circa 1890.
LOT 84 - Military Spurs 4 sets. Two pairs from the Civil War. Two pairs pre Civil War, with one of these designed to be screwed into the heel of the boot. Interesting examples of military spurs from the early 1800s through Civil War.

LOT 153 - Silvered Brass Spurs 1 pair. These are from Argentina with horizontal rowels, original chains and buckles. The letters “EAS” are stamped on the inside of the heel band. Beautifully constructed spurs. These have been exhibited at the Cowgirl Hall of Fame Museum.
LOT 157 - Mexican Charro Spurs This set of spurs has overlay silver, along with brass decorations. The silver has a floral design engraving. The silver design is on both sides of the heel band and shank. The rowels have silver overlay also. Attractive example of a Mexican Charro spur.
LOT 154 - Civil War Brass Spurs A pair of brass spurs, but the rowels are not identical. Original leather straps on one of the spurs.
LOT 158 - Mexican Charro Spurs And Bit The spurs and bit exemplify some of the finest silver inlay and engraving. The spurs have detailed floral design on one side of the spur and vertical stripes on other side. The rowels have detailed engraving and the shank, also. The bit is remarkable for the amount of silver inlay and decoration. It has a high port, along with a large roller. This is an extraordinary set of spur and bit artistry. Circa 1940s.
LOT 155 - Buermann Spurs and Matched Bit The bit and spurs have identical silver overlay design. The bit also has two large silver conchos. The matching spurs have vertical overlay silver decorations and also silver buttons. The spurs have long shanks and round rowels. Highly desirable set.

LOT 163 - Buermann Spurs A pair of “OK” Buermann Spurs. “OK” is stamped on outside of heel band on both spurs.
LOT 164 - Buermann Spurs 3 sets. One pair of spurs has a long shank and the daisy pattern on one side of the heel band and shank. These spurs are marked “hand forged steel”. Another pair are plain iron spurs with star rowels and the final pair is a nicely designed pattern with a short shank.

LOT 169 - California Spur Single spur. Great example of California design with hearts and conchos. It has a uniquely designed chap guard. Original tooled leather strap in very good condition. Circa 1925.
LOT 170 - Monogrammed Spurs 1 pair. Spurs have silver overlay design on shank and on the outside button. The silver initials “MJM” are on the outside of the heel band. Original leather straps.
LOT 171 - Wally Boone Spurs 1 pair. Boone name is stamped on the inside of the band with the backward facing “E”. The iron spurs have a simple engraving on the heel band and the shank. Nice example of Wally Boone craftmanship.
LOT 172 - Buermann Spurs 1 pair. Iron spurs with old leather straps. The rowels are nicely engraved on both sides. These are somewhat similar to the OK Spurs, but with a smaller band.
LOT 173 - Buermann Spurs 1 pair. Early Buermann California style with original jinglebobs. Lovely engraving on the outside of the shank and heel band. Classic early Buermann design. Nice, original patina. Circa 1880s.
LOT 174 - Mexican Silver Decorated Spurs 4 sets. Three sets are highly decorated with silver overlay and inlay. One pair has silver decoration on both sides of the spur, as well as the rowels with detailed floral and Aztec design on the heel band and shank. Another pair is especially heavy with vertical, silver inlay on the heel bands and detailed engraving on the shanks. These have the large Turk head buttons on the outside of the heel bands, extraordinarily attractive design. Another set is silver, decorated with Aztec design on the exterior of the heel band. These also have silver inlay design on both the shank and large rowels. This pair has the original leather embossed straps. The final pair is iron with light engraving on the outside of the band and shank.
LOT 175 - Iron Spurs 2 sets of spurs. One set of Buermann OK Spurs with original leather straps and buckles. Second pair are shop-made spurs and appear to have been cast. Found in old barn near Palmer, Texas.
LOT 176 - Buermann Spurs 2 pairs. One pair is a simple, undecorated spur that was popular in Texas. They have nice leather straps. Remaining set is a classic Buermann with drop shank and original chains. Decorations on the outside band.

LOT 177 - Gal Leg Spurs 1 pair of high quality, contemporary gal leg spurs. Note the girl design on the outer heel band and silver and brass inlay. Nice engraving across the spur. A very nice set of contemporary spurs. Maker unknown.
LOT 178 - Large Mexican Spurs 3 single spurs. These have large 5-inch rowels. One spur has nicely engraved design on the outside of heel band and shank. One spur has some silver inlay. These are all great examples of the early, large Mexican spur making. Circa 1850.
LOT 179 - California Spurs 1 pair. “JN” is marked on both sides of the heel band. The spurs are highly decorated with silver overlay on the outside of the heel band and shank. The outside button is silver decorated, as well. Nice, large chap guard. Beautiful iron work. Original strap with one of the spurs. Great example of California spur making. Circa 1950.
LOT 180 -Large Mexican Spurs 3 singles each with 5-inch rowels. They are extraordinarily long--8-9 inches in length. One spur has inlay silver decorations on both sides of the band and shank. One spur has bird-feather design on the shank. These spurs date from the late 1700s.

LOT 182 - Walt Rambo Spurs 1 pair. Double-mounted with silver overlay on the heel band and the rowel button. They are marked on the inside of the heel band with “Walt Rambo Austin, TX”. Nice engraving on both the heel band and shank.
LOT 183 - Crockett and Kelly Spurs 2 sets. One pair of Kelly made spurs with chrome plating and original heavy leather straps. “Kelly” is stamped on the outside of the heel band. Other set is a Crockett and are well-used. Marked by long wear. They have short shanks. Crockett is stamped on the bottom of the heel band. Interesting pairs of cowboy spurs.

LOT 185 - North & Judd Spurs 2 sets. Both pairs have leather straps and both are stamped with the Anchor symbol.
LOT 189 - Prison-Made Spurs 1 pair. Interesting example of what appears to be a prison-made spur. These are made with a variety of metals with an overlay of decorated aluminum over the heel band. There is a decorated brass strip on the shank. The rowel is of another type of metal.
LOT 186 - Renalde Spurs 3 sets. Most significant pair belonged to Whistle Ryon of Ryon Saddlery in the Fort Worth Stockyards. Mint condition with “Whistle” in large brass letters on the outside of the heel band. These are an important part of Fort Worth’s western heritage. Next set are plain chrome Renalde spurs with original leather straps. Final pair are nicely decorated on the outside of the heel band and the shank. The button is also decorated. They have a short shank and original leather straps.
LOT 190 - Mexican Charro Spurs 1 pair. Both sides of the heel band is highly decorated with silver overlay, displaying floral designs. The button has a nice floral design as well. Nice example of circa 1940s Charro spur making.
LOT 187 - Crockett Spur Single spur. Crockett spur with short shank and silver overlay on the outside of the heel band and outside button. Circa 1935.
LOT 191 - Mexican Spurs A pair of large Mexican spurs with 4-inch rowels. At one time was highly decorated on the outside of the band and most of it is gone now. Obviously had heavy use. Original heavy straps included.
LOT 188 - Prison-Made Spurs 1 pair. Maker unknown, but appear to be prison-made spurs. Distinctive heavy metal with large rowels and heavy original chains. Original leather straps also.
LOT 192 - Mexican Spurs 1 pair. Spurs have light engraving on both sides of the heel band and the shank. Well-used early spurs from the 1900s.

LOT 193 - Charro Spurs A pair of highly decorated and remarkable, because the original leather straps are in good condition. Significant inlay and overlay with detailed decoration on both sides of the spur. Nice engraving on all parts of the spur, including the rowels and the buttons. Circa 1950.
LOT 197 - Mexican Spurs 1 pair. The outside of the heel band, shank and button are decorated in classic Aztec design. The original leather straps are deteriorated.
LOT 194 - Kelly Spurs and Bit 4 single spurs and 1 bit. All spurs are plain with Kelly marked on the outside of the heel band. One spur is a Kelly 215 Rodeo Spur. One single spur is a large Kelly. Two spurs are small plain examples of Kelly work. The Kelly bit is remarkable with a brass decoration inlay design. The name Kelly is marked on the port of the bit.
LOT 198 - Mexican Spurs 4 singles. Each of the single spurs are highly decorated with silver inlay and overlay. They all date from the 1940s. One spur is decorated on both sides with Aztec and floral designs with original straps. One spur has vertical silver inlay. One has decorations on both sides with vertical stripes and floral design. One is interesting because of the large, silver initials of “JG” and nice detailing of silver inlay on the other side of the heel band. Engraving also on the shank.
LOT 195 - Crockett Spurs 2 sets. Both pairs have original leather straps and are made out of aluminum. Each pair has nice engraving on the outside of the heel band. “Crockett” is marked on the heel band of both sets.
LOT 199 - Buermann Spurs 3 sets. First set is plain with no decorations, but have the original spur chains. Next pair have short shanks and are without decorations. They do have the original leather straps and chains. Final pair is nicely engraved with a simple design on the outside band. These also have original leather straps, which are marked “H.B. Brand”.
LOT 196 - Mexican Spurs 3 single spurs. Two of the spurs appear to have withstood the test of time. The other spur is plain and undecorated.

LOT 202 - Sims Spurs 1 pair. Well made stainless steel Sims spurs with original leather straps.
LOT 206 - Crockett Spurs 2 pair and 2 single spurs of aluminum Crockett made spurs. One set has original leather straps. Both sets have engraving designs on the outer band. Lot includes two singles, as well.
LOT 203 - Buermann Spurs 4 single spurs. One is long shanked. Two have shorter shanks. One of these is a shop made spur with a very long shank.
LOT 207 - Buermann Spurs 5 pairs of Buermann OK Spurs. One pair has original leather straps and spurs are both marked “OK”. All sets are classic OK Spurs, which was named for the highly recognized Shootout at the OK Corral.
LOT 204 - Mexican Spurs 5 single spurs. Four of them have modest engravings.

LOT 213 - McChesney 2 single spurs. One is an early goose design and the second is more contemporary aluminum spur with nice engraving.
LOT 210 - Kelly and North & Judd Spurs 5 single spurs. One is a Kelly Rodeo Spur, one is a North & Judd Hercules Spur missing the rowel, one is a gal leg spur in poor condition. The other two are straight shanked spurs.
LOT 214- Catalogues 2 Catalogues in this lot. The 1927 Edward H.Bohlin Catalogue is a copy, while the other catalogue with the yellow cover is an original.

LOT 225 - Argentine and Crockett Spurs 1 pair and 3 single spurs. Ornate silver mixed spur from Argentina with the original leather and decorative chain that went around the rider’s foot. Rare piece of South American equestrian horse gear. One single spur is made out of fine metal and decorated with stripes. There is silver in the metal. There are two Crockett single spurs. One is stainless steel without decoration and with a chap guard. The other one has a straight shank and engraving on the outer side of heel band.
LOT 226 - Chilean Spurs 5 single spurs. Three of the spurs are highly decorated, showing the Moorish influence on the Chileans. Two spurs are straight shanked without decorations.
LOT 227 - Copies of Catalogues 2 copies of Kelly’s Hand Forged Bits and Spurs Catalogues
LOT 228 - Spurs 3 pairs. One pair is from the King Ranch and includes the receipt from the ranch with the “Running W” on the top of the receipt. The spurs originally sold for $45 and they are chrome with the bottle opener design. One other pair are stainless steel with some of the original leather straps. The other pair appear to be Renalde short shanked spurs with some engraving. One is missing the screw attachment for the rowel.

LOT 229 - Spanish Colonial Spurs 5 single spurs. Three of the spurs are early Colonial Mexican spurs with nice etching and good iron work. One of these three is unusual for having a single prong for the rowel. The other two appear to be North & Judd spurs.
LOT 230 - Mexican Spurs 5 singles. All with some decoration and the most notable has a Mexican brass coin for the button. It also has silver inlay of Aztec and floral design. One of the other spurs has a series of horseshoes for the inlay design. One of the other spurs has some deep silver inlay.
LOT 231 - Chilean Spur Great example of a high quality Chilean spur. Note the detailed silver inlay design reflecting the North African equestrian traditions.
LOT 232 - Mexican Spurs 4 single spurs. Three have the drop shank design of early Colonial spurs-dating to the early 1700s. The other spur is of a later period-circa 1890-1910. All are plain with no decorations. They all have 4-4.5 inch rowels.

LOT 233 - Wally Boone Spurs 1 pair that appear to be Wally Boone Spurs. The chap guards are notable in their almost horizontal positioning. The spurs were plated originally. Interesting example of a Texas spur.
LOT 234 - Mexican Spurs 2 sets. One pair is highly decorated with inlay silver and engraving. Some of the original spur straps remain. These are traditional Charro spurs. Circa 1930. The second pair are more utilitarian and have been plated. Circa 1910.
LOT 235 - Prison Made Spurs 2 pairs. The first pair are highly unusual with double mounted brass overlay on the steel spur. The buttons have a brass star and the 5 point rowels are nicely decorated. The pins holding the rowels are silver. The spurs have what appears to be the original leather straps. They also have chap guards. Second pair are gal leg spurs with silver and brass overlay with considerable engraving. The spur has an “R” in a circle, but does not appear to be the Renalde emblem.
LOT 236 - Crockett Spurs 1 pair. Nice example of a single piece, light metal Crockett spur with considerable engraving.
LOT 237 - Prison Made Spurs 5 singles. The first spur is a light spur with a straight shank and some type of metal overlay. The rowel is made out of a light metal as well. The second spur appears to be a prison spur and has a U.S. 5 cent coins for the button and rowel. There is some lettering on the side of the spur, which is difficult to decipher. The other three spurs are long-shanked, early Buermann spurs and one is decorated with a series of Xs and the other two are not decorated.
LOT 238 - Buermann Spurs 1 pair. These are Buermann OK style spurs with the original leather straps. The rowels are nicely marked.
LOT 239 - Military Spurs 1 pair. Light military spurs of pre Civil War vintage. They have original straps.

LOT 241 - Spanish Colonial Spurs 5 single spurs. Two of the lot have small amounts of gold decoration. The iron work on these spurs is quite remarkable. One of the other spurs has a small chap guard with silver inlay, which is sometimes referred to as a dog’s head. One other spur has nice grooved decorations. The final spur has a drop shank and minimal decorations.
LOT 245 - Cowboy Spurs 1 pair. Contemporary spur with engraving on the heel band and shank.

LOT 247 - Miscellaneous Spurs 5 single spurs. Two are marked stainless. One is chrome plated. One is a North & Judd Hercules bronze spur with nice engraving and original straps. The final spur is a portion of an Argentine spur with detailed design decoration. LOT 243 - Kelly Spurs 1 pair. These spurs have an interesting overlay showing a Longhorn steer. There is silver decoration with engraving on the shank and on the button. They are marked Kelly on the outside of the heel band.
LOT 244 - Mexican Spurs 3 single spurs that have unusually large heel bands, ranging from 2 to 2.5 inches. There is some silver inlay remaining on each of the spurs.

LOT 248 - Civil War Boot and 3 spurs This is a custom made Civil War boot with it’s original spur. This item is notable for several reasons. The story that came with the boot is that it belonged to an officer, who lost his leg in combat. The etching on the boot is said to have come from the soldier’s blood. The brass spur is also notable for how it attaches to the Calvary boot. It is easy to understand how so many spurs were lost in combat as the leather could easily be cracked and broken. That would then cause the loss of the spur. The other two brass Civil War spurs are good examples of the spurs used at this time. The Buermann Co. provided many of the spurs used by the Union soldiers.

LOT 253 - 2 Single Spurs 2 single spurs. Maker unknown. Both spurs have original leather straps and unusual features. One appears to have been without a rowel. The other spur is nicely decorated.
LOT 250 - Wally Boone Spurs 1 pair. Short-shanked with the Boone name on the outer band of the heel band. Engraved design on the outer side of the heel band and shank. Inside button is brass.

LOT 257 - Aluminum Crockett Type Spurs 4 single aluminum spurs. These types of spurs were popular in post World War II period. One spur has a hinged button for the leather strap. The spurs have chap guards.
LOT 261 - Mexican Spurs 5 single Mexican spurs. Three have silver decorative inlay. Four would be Chihuahuan type spurs and the remaining one has a 6 point rowels. These trace back to the Colonial period.
LOT 258 - Buermann Spurs This is a pair Eureka model spurs, which were the least expensive spur available to cowboys following the Civil War.
LOT 262 - Rodeo Spurs A pair of early, short shanked rodeo spurs with original leather straps with wire heel chains.

LOT 278 - Fort Worth Stirrup This single stirrup has a significant history. Apparently a group of these stirrups were made for a Texas Ranger Unit by the Nobby Harness Company of Fort Worth. The name Ft. Worth is in brass on both sides and includes a star with the word Texas spelled out in the star. These iron stirrups are a significant piece of Texas lore and have been presented in interesting photo displays.

LOT 329 - Horseshoe Spurs A unique set made from horseshoes. The original horseshoe metal is clearly evident. A special example of how blacksmiths used available iron to make cowboy spurs.
LOT 333 - Cowboy Spurs Spurs used by cowboys. These have heart shaped buttons. Plain design from quality metal alloy.
LOT 330- Mexican and Calvary Bits 2 Bits. The Mexican bit has detailed inlay silver design. An excellent example of Mexican silver work. The Calvary bit is from the Civil War. It originally had the U.S. marking on the outside of the bit. The Confederate Soldiers often took the Union bits and removed the “U.S.” brass designations. This bit may have seen Confederate use during the war.
LOT 334 - Rodeo Spurs 5 singles. These were used for various rodeo competitions. The rowels are uniquely different. Two have original leather straps. Two appear to be Kelly spurs.
LOT 331 - Mexican Charro Spurs 1 set of quality Mexican spurs with considerable silver inlay design. Much of the design includes Aztec design symbols. It has the Figure 8 design on the shank and the silver design is included on the buttons.
LOT 335 - Buermann Cowboy Spurs In the Buermann Catalogue this design is called the “Austin Spur.” It was a plain design and the type used by early cowboys. The spurs have original leather straps.

LOT 367 - Texas Spurs 5 singles. One has signature on it and town of Cuero,Texas. It has a large brass -R brand on the heel band. The spur is aluminum. The second spur is a nice goose head spur of considerable quality. It has brass overlay on the heel band and button. Obviously made by an excellent spur maker. At least one of the other spurs are by Crockett. These spurs are of plain design. One has original leather, which has some design, also.

LOT 369 - Spur Leathers 3 sets. These have interesting concho designs. The largest set is very old. It has a large, plain concho, along with numerous studs. The smallest set are from a very early Mexican spur. The conchos are unique and quite old. The final set are contemporary with excellent star conchos and buckles. The leather features the basketweave pattern.
LOT 370 - Texas Spurs 1 set with buffalo skull design on the band. The shank has overlay silver with wheat engraving. Excellent example of Texas spur craftmanship.
LOT 371 - Mexican Spurs 3 early large rowel single spurs. One has some silver inlay. Two are plain iron spur. They appear to be from about 1800.
LOT 372 - Mexican Spur 1 single. Outstanding and unique example of the great iron work from the early Colonial period. Notice the detail on the rowel and also the heavy shank. The heel band is narrow. This spur represents the great artistry of the Mexican iron foundrys of that era.

LOT 481 - Mexican and Buermann Spurs 5 single spurs although two appear to be possible a pair as they have long chap guards, straight shanks and 10-point rowels. The one with the original leather strap appears to be Buermann and it has engraved lines on the heel band. The other two are early Mexican spurs--one with an unusual design on the shank. Nice group of Mexican style spurs from the 1800s.
LOT 482 - Military Spurs 4 pairs. Two have original heel chains and all have original leathers. These are the blunt style rowels used by the U.S. Cavalry from late 1800s through World War I and up to 1940.
LOT 483 - Cavalry Spurs 2 singles. U.S. Cavalry Spurs dating back to the 1860s period. The Civil War spur has some engraving on the shank, which denotes that it is was most likely an officer’s spur. The other spur is a Cavalry type spur from the late 1800s and has a blunt rowel.

LOT 495 - Mexican Spur 1 single spur with large silver inlay and engraved heel band, shank and button. The design is of the Aztec origin. The button has a floral design. Large rowel with Figure 8 shank. Another example of the Amozoc spur making.
LOT 492 - Crockett Spurs 1 pair believed to be Crockett spurs with nice engraving on the heel band, shanks and buttons. They have chap guards and original leather straps. Attractive pair of cowboy spur from the 1940s.
LOT 496 - Cowboy Spurs 1 pair. Custom spurs with owners initials of “R L” in silver on band. Great leather straps and buckles. Dog leg shank with silver overlay engraving.

LOT 497 - North & Judd Spurs 1 pair that appear to be North & Judd Spurs of the Hercules bronze metal. Straight shanks dating from the 1940s. Simple, yet attractive spurs.
LOT 501 - Mexican Charro Spurs 1 pair. Great pair of Charro spurs with considerable inlay silver design work. These have large heel bands with floral engraved buttons.
LOT 498 - Cowboy Spurs 1 pair. These spurs have long dog leg shanks and large heel band.s They have original leather straps. Nice pair from the 1940s.
LOT 502 - Cowboy Riding Spurs 1 pair. These spurs have great leather straps with brass buckles. Interesting design to rowels, along with chap guards. These would date back to about 1950.
LOT 499 - Mexican Charro Spurs 1 pair with considerable inlay and overlay Aztec and floral design work in silver. There is inlay silver design work on the figure 8 shank. Excellent example of the Amozoc spur making.

LOT 505 - Mexican Spurs 1 pair. Attractive Mexcian spurs with vertical silver inlay design on the heel band. The shanks have horseshoe design in silver. The leather straps have conchos. Attractive pair from the Amozoc spur making region. Circa 1940.
LOT 509 - North & Judd Spurs 2 pairs. Good examples of what is probably North & Judd Spurs. One pair is made in the single construction pattern and has 5-point rowels. The other spur has the swing buttons. Circa 1940.
LOT 506 - Spurs 5 single spurs. One spur has original leather strap. One is notable for it’s brass design. One appears to have been prison made. One spur has a simple, straight shank, while another has a drop shank design with chap guard.
LOT 510 - Crockett Spurs 1 pair that appear to be Crockett Spurs. These have short shanks and swing buttons. The spurs have nice engraving on the heel bands, shanks and buttons. Popular spur design from about 1950.
LOT 507 - Cowboy Spurs 2 pairs. These could be Kelly Spurs. They all have dogleg shanks and original leather straps. The spurs date from the 1950s.
LOT 511 - Rodeo Spurs 1 pair. Outstanding pair of Argentine spurs. Note the bird head 1 pair of rodeo competition spurs. They appear to be Kelly Spurs. They probably date to 1950.
LOT 508 - Cowboy Riding Spurs 1 pair. These spurs have narrow heel bands and straight shanks. They have original leather straps and 5-point rowels. They probably date from about 1950.
LOT 512 - Buermann Spurs 5 singles. All with double buttons and long shanks. One has a 5-point rowel, two are missing rowels. The spurs date from the 1920s.

LOT 513 - Cowboy Riding Spurs 1 pair that could be Kelly Spurs. These have plain design with dogleg shanks and swing buttons. Circa 1950.
LOT 514 - California Spurs 1 pair. Notable spurs for the number of metal conchos on the exterior of the heel bands. Attractive drop shank design. Original leather straps and an excellent pair of spurs reflecting the California style. It is possible that these were made by Buermann.
