Today we are going to be focusing on Facebook Instagram

SOCIAL MEDIA 101: Why Should You Use Social Media?

1. Social media helps you build relationships

Social media platforms provides you with a medium to engage one on one with prospects (clients) through features such as DM (direct messaging) and commenting on content posts. Whenever someone comments on something you posted, you should COMMENT BACK…this provides extra exposure to your page and creates a relationship with that prospect.

2. Social media helps you increase brand awareness

When others connect with you on social media, they learn who you are and what you offer, and social media enables you to put your brand in front of prospects.

3. Social media helps you increase traffic on your website

When you create a social media profile, you can share links to your website

What is the difference between Stories, Reels, & Posts?

They are different sizes! Post Sizes: Instagram Facebook 1080 x 1080 pixels Square Rectangular Reel Size: 1080 x 1920 pixels 1200 x 630 pixels **You can use IG square post size on Facebook but not vice-versa** Story Size: Long Rectangle Long Rectangle 1080 x 1920 pixels FB/IG FB/IG
Stories • Temporary posting that disappears in 24 hours • Can be saved to your profile • More informal content • Only visible to your connections • Long rectangle format (1080 x 1920 pixels)

Reels

Reels are a compilation of photos and/or videos where you can add music, text, graphics, and stickers

Reels post to your feed and also have their own feed which can be viewed by many

Facebook Stats

• Largest Social Media Network in the world • 69% of American Adults use Facebook • Hard to get organic traffic • Has become more of a “Pay to Play” social media channel • Still important to have a presence

How Often to Post on Facebook

• Suggested to post 1-2 times per day

• You can repurpose content from platform to platform

• Secondary to IG because little chance of organic traffic

• Still is worth it to have a presence especially if you have a larger network of clients

First Things First, Please Follow the Atlanta Perimeter page on Facebook

1. While on the HOME page, click the magnifying glass in the top right corner to SEARCH

2. Once the search bar pops up, type

3. Our office Facebook page should pop up and you’ll see a FOLLOW button in blue, click that!

This enables us to tag you whenever we post something involving you, leading to more exposure for you!

Adding a Bio to your Facebook profile

1. Start on your Homepage, by clicking the HOME icon in the bottom left of your screen

2. Then, click on your profile picture in the top left corner of the homepage, which should take you to your profile

1. Click on the EDIT PROFILE button, you’ll see where you can add a Profile Picture, Bio, Personal Details, and Links, which you may want to include your HNR website!

***BIO TIPS*** Make it an elevator pitch – Statements or a paragraph someone could read in 20-30 seconds that summarizes YOU!

BEFORE WE BEGIN....

***FIRST, find the email from Jacqueline, titled 'AGENT ICON PHOTOS FOR SM CLASS', (image is on this slide) and you'll see in the email there are two of the same images. One image is titled POST, the other is titled STORY. Go ahead and save both to your photo library on your phone.

HOW TO CREATE A POST FOR YOUR NEWS FEED

• 1. Go to the homepage by clicking on the HOUSE icon

• 2. At the top you'll see What's On Your Mind? -- and if you click into that space, then you'll see you will be able to write a caption. Go ahead and write a caption regarding the Agent Icon image. Make it about 1-2 sentences.

• 3. After the caption, make sure to add 3 hashtags of your choice, related to the image (ex: is it a Just Sold post? Just Listed? Open House?)

• 4. Next, you need to add the Agent Icon photo. You will see there is a PHOTO icon, click on that and your photo library pops up.

• 5. Find the Agent Icon photo saved in your photo library and choose the photo made for a POST (should be a perfect square), and click on it to select it, click DONE and you will see your post ready to go.

• 6. Click POST when ready!

• How to share someone else’s post, for example from the AP page to your news feed

1. From the homepage, tap the magnifying glass in the top right corner to search for the HNR Atlanta Perimeter page, and select it once found.

1. Scroll down to find the newest post, that is the Agent Icon photo (see image to the right on this slide)

2. You will see, underneath the post, the options to LIKE, COMMENT, or SHARE.

• How to share someone else’s post to your stories, CONT’D:

4. Once you click on SHARE, you may see options to Share to a Page, do this if you have a Business Page. Or, click SHARE TO FEED and the post will then be posted on your news feed for others to see. Make sure you add a caption and hashtags before you share.

• HOW TO CREATE A STORY FOR YOUR NEWS FEED

• ***INTERACTIVE LESSON***

• ***This photo should already be in your photo library, per earlier instructions!*** If not, take a moment to find the email with the image titled 'STORY'

1. On the homepage, you should see a PLUS SIGN in the top right corner and options come up, such as: POST, STORY, REEL, LIVE

2. Choose STORY and if you scroll to the right you’ll see the ‘Add Yours’ option, meaning to create your own story. Allow Facebook to access your Photos and choose the photo you saved that is in Story format (this image is more vertical/rectangular)

3. Your photo should pop up in story format, and if you click on the screen you can add text.

4. Once completed, click SHARE TO STORY and that’s it!

How Often

to Post on IG • Instagram 3-7 times per week • Suggested do 3 Reels per week

How to get to your profile

1. Open the Instagram app, which should bring you to the homepage.

2. On the bottom right of the page you should see a small circle that is your profile picture, click on that image and you'll be at your profile!

1. Open up the Instagram app

2. At the bottom of the screen, find and click on the magnifying glass, which serves as the Search bar

3. Then, at the top of the screen in the Search bar, type in theatlantaperimeteroffice and click the profile

4. Once on the profile page, click FOLLOW

Adding a Bio to Instagram

• Once on the homepage (click the HOUSE icon, bottom left of the screen), then Click on your profile picture on the bottom right

• Once you’re on your profile page, click EDIT

PROFILE

• There, you can change your profile picture, add a BIO, and add a link to your HNR site

How to create a story

1. Starting at the homepage, click the PLUS SIGN at the top right of the page and you'll see options: POST, STORY, REEL, LIVE

2. Click STORY

3. Choose the photo in the bottom left corner to pull up your photo library

4. Find the story format of the image on this slide and select it

5. Click the right arrow to continue

6. On the next screen, make sure your account is selected, then click SHARE!

Sharing a Post from the office page to your Story (Use Agent Icon Post that Jacqueline is showing you)

1. Starting at the homepage, choose the magnifying glass to search for @theatlantaperimeteroffice Instagram account

2. Click on the photo of the Agent Icon image (see image to the left) that has been posted

3. Below the image you will see 3 icons: a Heart to LIKE the post, a Chat Bubble to COMMENT, and Right Arrow to SHARE

4. Click the SHARE icon

5. The option to Add Post To Your Story pops up, click the right arrow, and you'll see the image in story format

6. Click the right arrow at the bottom of the page, make sure your account is selected, and click SHARE. Done!

How to tag people in a post

Make sure to use the @ symbol to look for the person's handle name (you can type name and see if their profile comes up)

You can tag people in the message or go to the “Tag People” option

REELS CLASS: 1 – pull up IG 2 – Click the REEL icon 3 – Choose up to 5 pics 4 – Choose background music (optional) 5 – Create a caption, use hashtags 6 - Post

Linking Your Instagram account to your Facebook profile

1. This will allow you will be able to share content, such as stories and posts, directly from your Instagram account to your Facebook profile.

3. Keep in mind that you can only connect your profile from the Instagram app

Linking Your Instagram account to your Facebook profile

1. Open up the Instagram app on your phone, which should bring you to the homepage.

2. In the bottom right corner, tap your profile picture to be taken to your profile

3. Tap the 3 horizontal lines in the top right, then top the SETTINGS icon

4. Tap Accounts Center at the bottom, then tap Set Up Accounts Center

5. Tap Add Facebook Account and log in to or select the account you want to connect

6. Tap Yes, Finish Setup

7. Select whether or not you want to sync your profile picture (so it'll be the same profile picture for both platforms), then tap Continue

**Once you link accounts, you'll have the option to share a post to Facebook from the same screen where you add a caption. Basically, right before you submit a post via Instagram**
