From one to two world class companies Background  In 2018, Atlas Copco will grow into two separate global groups of companies.

 This will turn the Mining and Rock Excavation Technique Business Area and the division Construction Tools into a separate company. This new company will be dedicated to customers within mining, infrastructure and natural resources.  The new company is named Epiroc and will have more than 13000 employees.

With our customers first in mind The reasoning behind the split Atlas Copco and Epiroc have different endmarkets with different demand drivers and demand patterns.

The split is conducted to ensure that both Atlas Copco and Epiroc:  Are provided the best growth opportunities in their respective market segments.  Have a dedicated board and CEO.  A fully focused management.  Offers the best solutions to their respective end-markets.
