Day Camp Overview CAMP SCHEDULE Half-Day: 9:00 am - 1:00 pm • Full-Day: 9:00 am - 4:00 pm Free Extended Care for Full-Day only: 7:00 am - 9:00 am & 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm Full Day Pick up and Drop off: In lower parking lot of the Decatur YMCA for full day. Half Day - Walk In Drop off and Pick up: in the McKoy Room. Late drop off is at the camp office from 9:30-10:00 am.

Campers will not be admitted to camp past 10:00 am without approval from the camp director. Pick up is NOT permitted from 3:30-4:00 pm.

CARING, TRAINED COUNSELORS: Our counselors have a mandatory background check and receive First Aid & CPR training. We are a drug free workforce. Camp staff go through training on child abuse prevention, how to discipline, how to keep kids engaged, child behavior management, group games, risk management, bully prevention, etc.

YMCA MEMBERSHIP: Camp fees are noted for YMCA facility members (MEM) and program members (PRO). Facility members enjoy reduced rates as a benefit of membership. For those who wish to participate in YMCA programs without use of the facility, a YEARLY Program Member fee of $40/family is required in addition to fees for your programs of choice. YMCA facility membership must remain current throughout the summer to qualify for the facility member rates.

GENERAL INFORMATION: • Half Day campers should pack 1 snack & lunch daily.

• NO NUT PRODUCTS ALLOWED. • All full-day campers should pack 2 snacks and lunch daily.

• All campers should only wear sneakers.

• Frosty Fruit Slushies available daily for half-day and full-day campers for $2 daily or $9/week. CASH ONLY/ EXACT AMOUNT PLEASE. Not available for camps offsite.

• Pizza day is available for purchase for $3 for all half-day and full-day camps. CASH ONLY/EXACT AMOUNT. Due by Wednesday.

• Do not bring: toys, cell phones/electronic devices, money or playing/ trading cards, etc.

• The Y will not be responsible for lost, broken or stolen items.

• An informational email will be sent a week prior to each camp session • Immunization form is REQUIRED to register.

PAYMENT INFORMATION: We accept VISA, Amex, MasterCard, and Discover. Camp may be paid in full at the time of registration or set up on auto charge. Here are some friendly camp payment reminders: • $25 Deposit per week per child (nonrefundable) • Please view balance due dates for auto charge.

• ALL REGISTRATIONS are online at ymcaregistration.com.

• Financial assistance information is available through member services and must be applied for and accepted February 1 through April 15.

• There is a one time $25 cancellation fee and/or transfer fee/camper/session to cover processing.

• Any parent or guardian with a past due balance will not be allowed to continue to register his or her camper(s) for additional weeks until the balance is paid in full.

• There will be additional charges for returned checks.

• Parents of children dismissed from camp for behavioral problems will not receive a refund.

• We do not deduct absences from your fee because the space is reserved.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: We will be accepting applications starting February 1, 2016 and they are awarded on a first come, first served basis. Metro Atlanta YMCA branches actively seek to reduce YMCA fees for those in need. Summer Camp financial aid is limited and takes two weeks to process. *Please complete your application in full with all necessary supporting documents and submit it as soon as possible. PLEASE NOTE: Submitting your application does not guarantee you financial aid or your preferred camp sessions. Download a camp financial aid form at www. ymcaatlanta.org or stop by the Y and pick one up at Membership. Financial Aid approval must be processed before Summer Camp registration. We will stop taking applications after April 15. *Supporting documents include two forms of financial verification from each adult in the household. Preschool Camps

Register Online HALF-DAY CAMPS ages 3-5

All campers must be potty trained!

Monday - Friday: 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

Fees: MEM: $75 PRO: $105

Tumbling Tikes: Campers will learn different skills weekly and work on improving old ones using the beam, bars, floor, vault, tumble track and rings. Campers will also participate in arts & crafts, obstacle courses and value time in addition to daily gymnastics.

Weeks: 1-5 & 7-10

Splish Splash: This camp will have 30 minutes of pike/eel level swim lessons daily.

Please send your child in their swim suit and pack a change of clothes. Campers will have water time in the morning in our little outside pools. Arts & crafts and value time will also be a part of weekly activities.

Weeks: 1-5 & 7-10

Little All Stars: Run on over and spend each day experiencing a different sport. Monday– Soccer; Tuesday– Basketball; Wednesday– Swimming; Thursday– Gymnastics; Friday– Tball. Learn basic skills while having a fun time.

Weeks: 1-5 & 7-10 Little Scientist: Come explore the world of science. Campers will have different hands-on science experiments each day. Each week will hold a different theme. Please send your child in appropriate clothing. Parents are encouraged to attend the science fair on Friday at 12:30 pm to see what their kids learned each week. Weeks: 1-3

Little Builders Camp: This camp will spend the week building things out of Legos, boxes and other craft supplies. Each week campers will build things out of different materials.

Little Artist Camp: Bring out the creative side in your child.

Campers will participate in daily arts & crafts projects and learn about different styles of art. Make sure to send your child in appropriate clothing. There will be an art show every Friday in the hallway of the lobby. Parents are encouraged to come at 12:30 for the show. Weeks: 8-10

Jedi Camp: The force is strong in your child! Come and go through Jedi training. Learn the ways of the force… practice with your light sabers and go through the Jedi agility course.

Children will also participate in arts & crafts, story time and value time. Parents, meet in the Y entrance on Fridays at 12:30 pm for the Jedi parade. Weeks: 1-3

Princess & Pirate Camp: Learn how to be a proper princess & pirate. Princesses will learn to spin, curtsey & wave while having their nails, hair & make up done. Pirates will learn how to move handsomely (quickly) on a scavenger hunt, obstacle course and more. Story time, arts n' crafts and games, too. Parents, come Fridays at 12:30 pm for the princess & pirate parade. Weeks: 4, 5 & 7

Superhero Camp: Fly into action with your fellow super heroes! This action-packed camp will have “water day” on Tuesday and Thursday (wear your swim suit), obstacle courses, arts & crafts & story time. Wear your outfit to camp! Parents come Fridays at 12:30 pm for the super hero parade. Weeks: 8-10

What to Wear/Bring: • Bring lunch & a snack daily. No nut products!

• Splish Splash: wear a swim suit daily; pack a change of clothes.

• Jedi &Super Hero Campers, wear a swim suit on Tuesday & Thursday and pack a change of clothes.

• Little All-Stars need swim suits on Wednesday.

• Wear tennis shoes & label everything!

Daily Schedule: 9:00-9:30 am drop off in the McKoy Room • From 9:30-9:45 am campers will have opening ceremonies • From 9:45-11:45 am camp activities (including snack time) • Lunch is from 11:45 am-12:30 pm • Playground/Pick-up: 12:30-1:00 pm (MUST be picked up by 1pm) • Photo ID is required at all times to pick up your child.

Join the adventure and participate in STEM, our mileage running program, arts & crafts, game time (inside & out), Zumba/dance, tennis, yoga, reading time, gaga ball, and many more counselor-led activities. Field trips will take place on Fridays at an additional cost.

Arts & Crafts ages 5-9: Come explore your creative side!

Campers will do daily arts & crafts projects and a group project. Every Friday at 3:15 pm there will be an art show for parents to attend in the Y lobby. Campers will swim on W/F. Please send kids in clothes that can get messy. Campers will also have an opportunity to do general camp activities.

Triple Threat Gymnastics ages 5-12: Campers will participate in gymnastics, dance & cheerleading daily.

Campers will be split into groups based on their gymnastics skill level. Campers will swim on Fridays. There will be a parent performance on Fridays at 3:15 pm in the gym.

Jr. Swim ages 5-12: For kids who want to learn how to swim not for children who can swim without a flotation device.

Campers will have swim lessons for 45 min. daily & have 45 min. of free swim. General camp activities will also take place.

Sr. Swim ages 5-12: For kids who are able to swim 1 length of the pool without a flotation device. Campers will have swim lessons for 45 min. daily & have 45 min. of frees swim.

General camp activities will also take place.

Post Camp Clubs - New for 2016 Every Monday morning, campers will get to select a post camp club to participate in. They stay in this club the whole week and can do a different club each week.

Clubs run from 4:00p - 5:45p

Sr. Sports Camp ages 9-12: Campers will participate in learning the basic fundamentals of basketball, flag football, baseball & soccer with an emphasis on team play. In the afternoon, campers will swim (twice a week) and participate in general camp activities.

Weeks: 1- 10 • MEM: $145 PRO: $175 Basketball Camp ages 5-12: Camp staff will lead skillbuilding games, fundamentals, rules, and techniques early in the week. Then campers will focus on playing games towards the end of the week. Campers will swim twice a week and participate in general camp activities.

Weeks: 1- 10 • MEM: $145 PRO: $175 Golf Camp ages 7-12: Come and learn how to play golf or improve on your current abilities. Golfers will work on putting, chipping, wedge play and full swing. Classes will take place at the Charlie Yates Golf Course in the afternoon.

Campers will swim on Monday and Wednesday mornings.

When campers are not playing golf they will participate in sports camp activities.

Wolves Soccer ages 6-12: Former & current players will coach and administer skill-building games.

Fundamentals, rules, and techniques will be emphasized during the week while playing games. Soccer will take place offsite at Patillo Field from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm. After soccer, camper will participate in general camp activities back at the Decatur Y. Campers must be at drop off site no later than 8:45am for transportation to the soccer field. Teens Camps

TEEN CAMPS ages 13-15

Teen Advanced Leadership Programs (ALA) This program is designed to take teens through the different stages of leadership and preparing them to possibly be a future Y camp counselor or to work in another department in the Y. Each level helps teens develop different leadership skills: go on college tours, write to colleges of their choice, participate in volunteer projects, presentations on life skills and much more. Navigation ages 13 - 14: This camp will be held onsite and off site. Teens will have the opportunity to give back to their community with weekly service projects, strengthen their leadership skills by taking weekly leadership classes and participate in fun outings.

Weeks 2 - 9 • MEM: $170 PRO: $200

Advanced Leadership Camper (ALC) age 14: To become a part of this program, teens must apply for the program in July 2016 (1st - 31st) and come to interviews. This is a year round program and teens will meet once a month for a mandatory Impact Club meeting held on Saturdays at 1:00p.

During the summer, teens will participate in camp activities half of the time and participate in leadership competency classes during the other half of the time. This group will travel to 3 colleges and tour them during the summer.

Leader In Training (LIT) age 15: To become a part of this program, teens must apply for the program in July 2016 (1st - 31st) and come to interviews. This is a year round program and teens will meet once a month for a mandatory Impact club meeting held on Saturday at 1:00p. This group will also have an overnight retreat where they will gain additional training for the summer. LIT's will also become CPR certified through the YMCA. During the summer teens will assist in all aspects of camp. Program goal is to prepare them to become a camp counselor when they turn 16.

Meet and greet camp staff! Come and have fun with the camp staff singing camp songs, doing arts & crafts, bouncing in the moonwalk, STEM projects, face paint and counselor led games. Adventure Camp: Ages 5 - 16: Campers will be split into age groups, swim daily and attend two skill activities daily, join a camp crew team and enjoy huddle group “try-it” scheduled activities. MEM: $95 PRO: $110 Travel Camp: Ages 11 - 15: Tweens and teens will travel around the Atlanta area. Each week will be a balance of education, exploration and summer fun!

Our schedule will include visiting colleges, museums, historical sites, natural parks, recreational venues, Gwinnett and Atlanta Braves games, medieval times, the Atlanta Dream basketball game, Malibu race way and more.

Future Bransby Leaders and Apprentices (FBLA): Ages 13 - 16: In this program, we offer character-based leadership training, providing teens the opportunity to serve others, venture more deeply into nature and camp programs, develop self-confidence, explore the character of leader and leadership styles. Developing leadership skills is the challenge that the C.I.T.

UPGRADE YOU R CAMP EXPERIENCE

Horseback Riding: Ages 5 - 16: Choose this upgrade to ride horses every day of the week. Join one fo our two teams the Mustangs or the Broncos for daily riding and ground lessons. Climbing Camp: Ages 9 - 12: Campers will join a one of our two climbing teams, the Flying Squirrels or the Soaring Eagle for 5 days of shear challenge and thrilling conquest as they travel through our challenges high above the ground and learn the ins and outs of group work. Not only wil they try their hand at several of our daily activities, including swimming, they will solve problems together, travel with their group across invisible moats, by out smarting the snapping (an nonexistent) alligators to get their group to safety.
