INTRODUCTION Kinetic Wall Kinetic wall started with as a application for the wall façade which is slowly being experimental and applied in the interior wall or exhibition wall. It is a wall that kinetically moves. Starting with Kinetic façade, that changes dynamically rather than being static or fixed, allowing movement to occur on a building’s surface. It can be used to manage light, air, energy and even information. They can act to reduce solar gain as well as allowing the passage of fresh air into the building, helping to alter the interior movement. The moving elements of the façade can be programmed to respond to climatic or other environmental factors, time, level and type of occupancy and on to improve performance and efficiency.

With advances in sensors, materials and building management technology, designer are increasingly able to consider kinetic components as design solutions. Meanwhile, tackled building the prototype, they created and tested the wall components. Kinetic wall, that being used in the interior allows the wall to interact with people and truly makes the wall more unique. It is the almost same functionally as the kinetic façade.

Kinetic wall can also used for aesthetic purposes to make a strong impression, to generate interest or as part of the art exhibition. It is a magical, hypnotic installation that charms visitors and encourages people to interact which can move together in mesmerizing waves and open up dynamic “windows” for people to look around through the wall. They area implement the module that controls movements and transposes the animation software’s input.

Technical process of kinetic wall “Actuator is a device that moves the system which is supplied with a electrical power source then the hydraulic or pneumatic power and turns it into movement. It is the last part in a series of controls and is responsible for the movement of the body in accordance with the orders given by the control system. There are actuators which depend on pressure such as hydraulic pistons that are pressurized fluid or pneumatic muscle s which produce linear movement (Elkhayat 2014)

Mimosa is an example of a kinetic design technique that used experimental system where it the implementation, experience, and lessons learned from the development of sensing-based were used to design the kinetic wall (Cheng and Pan 2008).

In order to make the wall move, a few technology need to be used. Youssef Osama Elkhayat said that interrelation element which are structure, Connections, Actuators, Materials, and Control systems were used in dynamic transition structures in order to make the moveable kinetic wall architecture.

CASE STUDIES 01.

Cupra Booth, 88th Geneva International Motor Show 2018 project, working side by side with TODO’s creative team and Delfini Group for the production, they engineered a kinetic wall composed of 139 “petals”, which can move together in mesmerizing waves and open up dynamic “windows” for visitors to look through the wall.

Joined forces in designing and developing mechanical and electronic parts, the prototype and motion control system. Cupra’s kinetic wall is a magical, hypnotical installation that charms visitors, encourages them to interact and impress the audience to the booth, stand out form the competition and convey brands’ values.

Tantora Festival in Al-Ula, Saudi Arabia For the Winter at Tantora festival 2018 project, the Arabic agency MMG designed a temporary concert hall capable of hosting the audience of the concert in the wonderful scenario of the Arabic desert.

Collaborating with TODO, they engineered and produces the Kinetic Wall installed in the Royal Pavilion of the theatre, the exclusive stand dedicated to the royal family of Saudi Aarabia. The installation harmonically takes places inside the theatre wall and with trapezoidal petals perfectly meets the Arabic style pattern. When a person gets close to the wall, the installation unveils contents related to the Arabic culture.

Kinetic Art Installation.

Dynamic Brick Wall by Architime, Russia 2020 project by ARCHITIME design group.

It is the art-object intersection of kinetic and parametric architecture and dedicated to the highest feeling on the Earth-LOVE. The installation is based on the technology that allows to animate a static wall, begins to move in the dance and flies like a flag.

The dynamic wall dance reveals, like a theatrical curtain, hidden in the emotions palette of love. The wall becomes a canvas and street art enters into coordinated harmony with architecture.

The wall ceases to exist and begins to live.

A huge red heart beats and filled with life.

CONCLUSION Kinetic architecture has been proposed as a new paradigm in architectural design.

Intelligent architecture, interactive architecture, responsive architecture, and adaptive architecture are all terms used to describe kinetic architecture. They may appear to be similar, yet each approach is focused on a distinct point and seeks to achieve certain goals.

Kinetic interior wall usually use interactive mechanical surface that deforms in real-time based on various environmental stimuli, including the sounds and movements of people, weather, and electronic information (Elkhayat 2014). The material used are aluminum plate and stainless steel where the surface moves with a high-speed and harmonious acceleration. Actuators convert the electric power to allow rigid screen elements to be pushed or pulled using a bar.

Kinetic architecture is not only an addition in the architectural aesthetics for interior design but also play an environmental role in sun shading and improving the functionality of the building for exterior. in conclude, Kinetic wall really give a huge impact to architectural world and can be improve more in future since the benefit of it is magnificent especially in interior design industry.
