One of the most successful British screen comedies of all time, which took the UK box office by storm, can now be seen live on stage in this brand-new production of the Broadway and West End smash-hit. The musical, as in the film, is about six out-of-work steel workers who find courage and determination which takes them to extraordinary lengths to earn some money. All the characters, laughter and tenderness of the film that the whole world fell in love with are brought to life in this triumphant stage musical.

The Full Monty is the latest production from Staffordshire’s Stage Productions, the company behind the hit Regent Theatre shows Oliver!, Jesus Christ Superstar, The King and I, and Billy Elliot the Musical.

Alan Bennett, known for plays including The History Boys and The Madness Of George III, has a very unusual neighbour parked at the bottom of his garden in a van. The lady in the van is Miss Shepherd.

She used to drive ambulances in the war, might have been a nun, sells pencils and pamphlets and has an unexplained aversion to piano music.

She lives in the playwright’s garden and has done for years.

The Lady in the Van stars Nichola McAuliffe one of British theatre’s most loved actresses. As well as playing Sheila Sabatini in seven series of ITV’s Surgical Spirit, Nichola won an Olivier Award for Outstanding Performance by An Actress In A Musical for her role in Kiss Me Kate (RSC).

Directed by Sarah Esdaile, whose recent credits include The Deep Blue Sea starring Maxine Peake for West Yorkshire Playhouse.
