Thacker & Co., London and Thacker, Spink & Co., Calcutta, 1861 28.6 x 42.1cm; 11¼ x 16½in (plates) (8) The introduction to the book states that the scenes were taken from sketches and notes taken during a meet of the Calcutta Tent Club in March 1860, on the Sowerra Burrea Plains. The hunting party consisted of around 60 people, including 15 members of their club, their guests, and their attendants. Eleven elephants were used as beaters, and the hunt lasted three days, killing 37 hogs £2,000-3,000
