AMPTHILL TOWN CRICKET CLUB Dear Members, Supporters and Sponsors Summer is finally here! Martin Wythe, Graeme Presswell and their teams of volunteers have done wonders to provide fantastic grounds for us to use despite the bad winter weather. The pavilion in the park has had a makeover having been painted and we have replaced the flooring and furniture giving the place a more modern look. We have also received the fantastic news that Central Bedfordshire Council has awarded us a grant to start phase one of modernising our facilities; more details to come during the season.

The 2017 season finished on a high as we defeated Dunstable Town to win the Viegli Bedfordshire T20 Competition for the first time. 2018 will see our Saturday 3rd and 4 th XI join the Four Counties League and a fresh challenge with new grounds to visit and opposition to play against.

I wish all our players and in particular our Captains the very best for the coming season.

Our Youth section will again run sides at all age groups, All Stars returns for a second year with 93 children signed on and we have been oversubscribed for a Friday evening girls section. Over the winter the club has invested in a coach visiting local lower and middle schools to improve the numbers participating in youth cricket. We hope this bold move will result in more future members of the club. If you want to volunteer in either a coaching or administration role and help the future stars of the club, Head of Youth Dave Bradley would be delighted to hear from you. Many of our current young members are now succeeding in the adult sides and this continues to bode well for the future of the club.

The Executive and Sub Committees again organised many events over the last 12 months. We had a very successful darts night with Keith Deller and more recently the Celebrity Sportsman Dinner with David Gower. Our major event this summer is the Big Summer Cocktail Party on Friday 15 th June. Please do support this event and everything else that is being organised, details can be found on the weekly club email, club website, Twitter, Instagram and Facebook accounts.

Finally a big thank you to everyone who volunteers and gives their time to the club and to all those sponsors who continue to support the club, we wish them continued success. Enjoy the season ahead!

ANNUAL SUBSCRIPTIONS Adults = £100 if you renew/join after February 1st 2018.

This can be paid in a one off payment or in instalments of £25 per month (spread over 4 consecutive months). Full and final payment must be made by July 31st.

Adult Youth (School years 12+13)/Students/those not in full time employment = £50.

This can be paid in a one off payment or in instalments of £10 per month. Full and final payment must be made by July 31st 2018.

Child /Youth = £65 + £15 for additional siblings.

Social Membership = £15 per person If full payment is not made by the end of July then the individual will be deemed unavailable for selection.

Those who join mid-season will pay a pro rata rate dependent on when they join or play their first game. We will also be implementing our “no pay-no play” policy this year.
