The legendary and award winning Actor and Voive Over talent, Alan Young paved the way and inspired many young talents. Young had his own comedy radio series on Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. In 1944, he moved to American radio with The Alan Young Show, NBC's summer replacement for Eddie Cantor's show. He switched to ABC two years later, then returned to NBC. Young's film debut was Margie in 1946, and featured in Chicken Every Sunday 1949. In 1950, the television version of The Alan Young Show began. By 1951, the series had garnered not only praise but also several Primetime Emmy awards, including "Outstanding Lead Actor" for Alan Young. After its cancellation, Young continued acting in films but he is best known, however, for Mister Ed (1961–66), a CBS television show.

He also guest starred on The Incredible Hulk, The New Scooby and Scrappy-Doo Show and Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends. In 1993, he recreated his role as Filby for the mini-sequel to George Pal's The Time Machine, reuniting him with Rod Taylor, who had played George, the Time Traveller. Haddon launched his solo career as a Christian R&B vocalist with the Lost & Found on Tyscot/Verity in 2002. The set peaked at #1 on Billboard's Top Gospel Chartsand received wide critical acclaim and spawned the hit "Sinner's Prayer" which received heavy spins on gospel and mainstream R&B radio stations. The 70's-leaning Crossroads followed in 2004, led off by the upbeat single "God Is Good". In an uncharacteristic move for marketing a gospel album, Detrick made an appearance on the long-running syndicated series Soul Train performing the single as well as the title track from the album. Haddon appeared to be pushing his Gospel artistry further into the ranks of mainstream venues with 7 Days, released October 10, 2006. 7 Days was produced almost entirely by R&B stalwart producers Tim & Bob(also responsible for hits by Sisqo, Chante Moore, Karen Clark Sheard, and others). They were also the executive producers of the album. Balancing out the contemporary bulk of the album is the traditional gospel flavored lead single "Heaven Knows" which Deitrick produced himself. On December 1, 2006, Deitrick and Damita Haddon's 85 South Gospel Street Show premiered on The Word Network. The show features notable gospel artists such as Men of Standard, Donnie McClurkin, Kierra Sheard, Natalie Wilson, and many other prominent gospel artists. In essence, Deitrick and Damita Haddon provide novice artists an opportunity to display their talents and gifts. 85 South Gospel Street airs every Friday at 4:30 p.m. on The Word Network. Haddon once inked a recording contract with major label Arista Records, not known for producing gospel artists. Haddon and his brother Gerald also produced the comeback album Brand New Day for veteran gospel vocalist Vanessa Bell Armstrong. Deitrick Haddon & Voices Of Unity's Live The Life won Gospel Music Workshop of America Excellence Awards for "New Artist of the Year—Urban Contemporary" and "Album of the Year—Urban Contemporary".

On September 2, 2008, Deitrick Haddon released another album called "Revealed". This album includes the popular single, "Love Him Like I Do" (featuring Mary Mary and Ruben Studdard). On July 27, 2010 Haddon made his film debut in a movie released directly to DVD called "Blessed and Cursed." On January 25, 2011 Deitrick Haddon released the much anticipated "Church On The Moon", his fifth album with Verity Records. The album debuted at #1 on the Billboards Top Gospel charts and #65 on the Billboard 200. Haddon is currently part of the cast of the reality television show Preachers of L.A., which chronicles the lives of six Los Angeles preachers, including Haddon. The show began airing on October 9, 2013 and currently airs on the Oxygen network in the United States. SKILL: Christian Recording Artist, Reality Star, Actor

Meet Pat Jones... When did you first realize that you wanted to be in the entertainment/media field? When I was age 18, a time when I began singing with a professional entertainer by the name of Danny Bell. Did anyone encourage you along the way (family, friends, mentor, ect)? My Uncle Irvin and Aunt Robena Johnson And how so? . I sang with their Community Choir, “The Baltimore Youth Choir”. If not, where did you pull inspiration from? It’s a way for to fortify my relationship with God; to stay focused and have a listening ear for when he speaks gently to me. How old were you when you officially booked your first gig, paying or nonpaying? At age 24, I was then living in Las Vegas and had the opportunity to do a full concert at a local church in Los Angeles California. It was a paying gig. I pulled new songs out of the hat that had not been heard as of yet (From Tramaine Hawkins album at that time).

A Taste of... Tell us of a time you may have messed up during a gig? (could be on stage, on set, filming, act.) At least once. How did you recover? I went into a praise ministry and I encouraged the audience to sing along with me. The responded was very well and the house became an instant MASS choir. How would you explain your swag/style. I sing traditional, contemporary with a little taste of light jazz. When you are creating, what puts you in that mood? (certain music, atmosphere, act) Sometimes a word heard during a preachers ministry; personal situations in my life during at the time. Instances where I know it was God and God alone who brought me out of a situation or fixed a situation for me. Or just a melody just drops within my spirit even while I am asleep. Who do you compare yourself to? Traimaine Hawkins What is the high light of your career? I had gone to a concert as a background singer for Diana Ross and she passed the mike to me and I just went for it. I so caught up I could not tell you to this day what I did to cause the audience to respond to me with so much excitement. That was my five minutes of fame. I could not sleep for a week. smile . What was the hardest part of your career? Getting my music out the masses. I signed a recording contact with a local record label who called me and things began to happen and the windows opened. I was on a world wind for at least five years; with at least three performances a week. What got you through? Then the record label CEO disappeared; nowhere to be found. Before that happened I had the master Disc for a weekend so, I copied it, not knowing then what was going to happen later. I was hurt, but I pulled myself together, had the CD re-mastered and independently produced the CD myself. I kept performing at showcases. I won as the best contestant which enable me to perform at the Apollo, New York City. In my last and most recent showcase I won the opportunity to get a single song produced and distribution of a single “Jesus My Everything internationally with 2 Save Souls Records-CEO Keith Martin.

Giving Our Readers A Taste...

Mike Body was born and raised in West Baltimore, Md., on the gritty streets of Poplar Grove. Mike’s decision to make a change in his life was initiated by the series of events that ensued after a night that he will never forget. A very close friend of his named Mark Ske and an uncle of his (Ronald Hill) both died violently on the same night. The death of Mark Ske moved another friend of Mike’s named Miles to give his life to the Lord. Miles in turn exposed Mike to the gospel of Jesus Christ and he gave his life to the Lord on March 28th. Mike didn’t take rapping as an artist seriously while he was coming up.

"Mike was influenced by the music of mainstream artist such as Jay-Z, Nas, Tupac." He and his close friend Mark Ske used to write raps for fun and joke about doing music. Mike recently revealed that the first real song he ever wrote was a tribute to his friend Mark Ske. Shortly after that, in the early 2000’s, Mike started rapping with an up and coming hip-hop group called The Nocklist.where he rapped with great lyricists like D.E.T, 200, Yella, Scriptz, and 600 Rush. During that time, Mike wasn’t taking his Christian life seriously. Through God’s love and undeserved grace, Mike was given time to repent and return to the Lord.

" As he became more faithful to the Lord, he decided to retire from rap for good ", but a brother in Christ name Kevin Alston approached him about using his talent in a spiritual way. “Put God at the heart of your music” is what Kevin told Mike to do. That alliance gave birth to the group called We Are B.N.C, which consists of 3 members: Mike Body, Devin , and M.Bennett. Since then, Mike has received critical acclaim and moderate success as a solo artist with the release of what some people believe to be 2 classic albums: The Obituary and The Autopsy Report. Currently Mike has released his latest album titled "The Last Epistle". Throughout his career Mike Body has inspired other rap artists to make Christian based music as well. Through his ups and down, Mike Body continues to keep Jesus at the center of his life, which reflects in his music. CITY: Baltimore MD SKILL: Christian Rapper PHOTO BY:

A Taste of... When did you first realize that you wanted to be in the entertainment/media field? In my early teens. Did anyone encourage you along the way (family, friends, mentor, ect)? And how so? Not at first, because I didn’t take it serious. If not, where did you pull inspiration from? During my development as an artist a childhood friend of mine name Charles (600 Rush) inspired me a lot. He was the first person to really push me to get better as a rap artist. My Poplar Grove fam has been there since Day 1. How old were you when you officially booked your first gig, paying or non paying? 19 Tell us of a time you may have messed up during a gig? (could be on stage, on set, filming, ect) I messed up before, when performing but I specifically remember a few years back,my manager booked us for a show in this old beat up church (look like something from the 50’s) Our engineer M.Bennett had to hookup his laptop to this OLD radio (one knob for everything) so we could get some sound because they didn’t have adequate sound. My microphone literally fell apart while I was performing smh!... I will never forget that! How did you recover? Oh, quite simple I fired our manager… nah I didn’t but I thought about it lol..real talk though!. I just kept performing without it and afterwards some people in the audience said they liked it but me and my group wasn’t feeling it at all. Me and my brothers can laugh about it now, at least it was a paid gig and it taught me about “The Show Must Go On” How would you explain your swag/style. Any swag I have comes from 3 places: God, Family and my hood (Poplar Grove) When you are creating, what puts you in that mood? (certain music, atmosphere, ect)it varies it could be production, or sometimes its life events.indirectly or directly sometimes I write in my head with no pen or paper, sometimes I write on my phone. Who do you compare yourself to? I often compare myself to the greats(any genre of music) even though I’m nowhere near their commercial success or impact. But what I compare is the quality of music they have put out over the years. Like for instance an artist like Maxwell can put out a album like every 5 years at this point in his career, but you know when it drops its gonna sell because he has branded himself through his music as a quality artist.Thats why you hear people still clamoring for Dr.Dre to finally release the Detox album. Or another Outkast album. That’s my approach and and mindset when I get in the studio quality over quantity. CITY: Maryland SKILL: Christian Rapper

A Taste of... What is the high light of your career? Hmmm… I would say my humble beginings as a solo artist is my highlight. My first album titled “The Obituary” was released with no on line presence or distribution deal of any kind.Me and my Producer M.Bennett pressed the cds, printed the labels, and did the artwork ourselves We just simply sold them at shows and out of the car.To see that album move without any promotion, get bootlegged was mind blowing at the time.Without that album I wouldn’t have experienced any other Highlights in my career. The Lord definitely blessed that project. What was the hardest part of your career? I’m also apart of a Christian Hiphop group called We Are Bnc and we decided to release a group album in 2012 but for me it was hard financially due to me being laid off twice and my cousin Keon went missing the year before and as of this date still hasn’t been found. So dealing with those things made it difficult. Ironically enough the album was titled “Weight Of The World” What got you through? The Lord got me through it, some days were really difficult but he helped me channel what I was going through to hopefully be a blessing to someone that was listening. Also my fellow brothers n Christ: M.Bennett, Devin and my booking agent Red Carpet. Their support and understanding went a long way that was very instrumental in that albums completion. Give us a few pointers on breaking into the biz. Three things to do. 1.Stay Independent, 2. Make quality over quantity, 3. Have a reliable team Three things not to do. 1.If you are signed, dont let a label take away your creative control, 2.Dont become complacent 3.Most importantly don’t leave God out of the equation because he blesses us with the talent and puts us in a position to be successful. Three unknown things about you. 3.working on another album 1.Im a Capricorn 2.Baltimore raised The best way your fans can keep in touch. A Taste of... Gospel music legends and fans alike are abuzz about Anthony Brown, a young, urban, musically endowed and gifted song writer and vocalist. With an artistic pedigree that is steadily strengthening his stature and distinction, Brown is quickly becoming recognized as an up-and-coming force in the gospel music industry and church music ministry. Since Maurette Brown-Clark recorded the Billboard #1 hit he penned, “It Ain’t Over,” the man behind this dynamic offering is rising to the surface and singing of expectation and harvest. On Brown-Clark’s Stellar Award winning album “The Dream,” Brown also penned the project’s anthem of power, “Sovereign God.” He has also written and produced several songs on her newest project including the title cut and single, “I Hear the Sound of Victory”. His prowess as a vocal leader is rare given his age. A music prodigy who began playing the piano at 3, he served as vocal director and vocal producer for the live recording of “The Dream” as well as on “Times of Refreshing,” the 2009 release of nationally-renowned praise and worship artist, Stephen Hurd. Due in part to his contributions, Brown-Clark and Hurd were awarded Stellar Awards for Praise and Worship CD of the Year in 2008 and 2009, respectively. Brown (and his background singers, Group TherAPy), were also featured on B.E.T.’s 2006, 2007, and 2012 Celebration of Gospel. He has worked with such artists as Donald Lawrence, Myron Butler, Stevie Wonder, Anthony Hamilton, Juanita Bynum, Fred Hammond, Donnie McClurkin, the legendary Caravans and was featured on Bobby Jones Gospel in 2010 and 2011. When did you first realize that you wanted to be in the entertainment/media field? When I realized inside myself the gift of music making the Lord gave me.

Did anyone encourage you along the way (family, friends, mentor, ect)? I’ve learned how to believe in myself and the power of God within me. When it comes to music I know my music sounds deceant so I always push and challenge myself to break the bounds of my imagination. Jesus gives me the inspiration to keep going because if it weren’t for Jesus I would be nowhere. How old were you when you officially booked your first gig, paying or non paying? I booked my first paying gig at the age of 19 at Angel City cafe. Tell us of a time you may have messed up during a gig? I rehearse as much as possible so when I do a show everything goes well. How would you explain your swag/style. My swag is Rock & Roll and Rap combined with a hardcore edgy twist. Also good energy and fun. When you are creating, what puts you in that mood? Making music is what I do. Sometimes I make 3 or 4 songs in a row, then I have to take a break. When i’m ready to continue the thought of how crazy can my next song be excites me. Who do you compare yourself to? I compare myself to Mozart or Miles Davis. What is the high light of your career? I have a few. My favorites are the Music with a message T.V. Interview and when I recorded Rolling Thundder. God is a blessing. What was the hardest part of your career? What got you through? Not being ready when you think you’re ready. If you plan on doing music make sure you’re ready before you put yourself out there. Life is a journey not a sprint. People will experience things in life and hopefully change and mature for the better. Your going to get up there 1 night, then 3 nights later look back and say I did it all wrong. Are you really producing material that people need to hear? Be ready. Give us a few pointers on breaking into the biz. Three things to do. Fearless. That one word eloquently captures the creative spirit of groundbreaking duo Mary Mary. Ever since siblings Erica Campbell and Tina Campbell broke through in 2000 with the pioneering crossover hit “Shackles (Praise You),” the chart-topping sister act has never wavered from defying convention to fulfill its mission: sending uplifting messages through music and words that are relatable to everyone. “It’s about making music that touches both adults and young people,” says Erica. Adds Tina, “It’s about spreading good news for the world but doing it in the Mary Mary way: banging beats and melodies, intertwined voices and messages of hope.” An amazing ten years later, having earned 3 Grammy Awards, 2 American Music Awards, an NAACP Image Award and a BET Award, the “Mary Mary way” sounds just as fresh and innovative on the duo’s sixth album, the aptly titled SOMETHING BIG (My Block/Columbia/Sony Music; March 29, 2011). This vibrant outing, once again produced by longtime collaborator Warryn Campbell, picks up where the group’s most recent mainstream success story, 2008’s The Sound and its Grammy Award-winning smash hit “God in Me,” left off. Paving the way for SOMETHING BIG is the lively lead single “Walking.” After only nine weeks at radio, the single has already marched its way into the top 10 at Urban AC and is steadily growing. In the vein of “God in Me,” Mary Mary’s 2009 Auto-Tune-laden R&B/hip-hop crossover hit, “Walking” bounces along with synthesizer-accented, percolating rhythms while delivering its uplifting message. “Some say walking takes too long/I say with walking you can’t go wrong/I rock with the greatest,” proclaim Tina and Erica Like Mary Mary’s previous albums, SOMETHING BIG resonates with a fusion of sound (R&B, hip-hop, dance, pop, gospel and jazz) and empowering messages. But unlike earlier efforts, this album also features more collaborations with several talented new writers. A case in point is Jazz Nixon, who crafted the title track. Interpolating the Jackson 5’s 1971 hit “Mama’s Pearl,” complemented by an edgy bass and drum mix and spirited hand claps, the track puts a contemporary spin on the traditional call and response song.. “We always go into the studio with the intention of, ‘Hey, why not try this out,” says Tina. “When we heard ‘Something Big’ the first time, it just screamed out to us. It worked tremendously with our chemistry.” CITY:

“People ask us all the time whether we’re gospel, inspirational or trying to go pop,” says Erica. “Tina and I are artists whose music fits in so many other places. That’s always been the leading force behind each of our albums. Knowing who we are, we know each album can be different from the next.” Born in Inglewood, CA to an evangelist/choir director mother and a youth minister father, sisters Erica and Tina Atkins—and their six other siblings—grew up singing in church choirs. After a stint studying vocal performance at local El Camino College, Erica and Tina joined the lineup of traveling gospel shows and toured as backup singers for several R&B acts. Three years later, songwriter/producer Warryn Campbell played a pivotal role in the sisters’ career, helping them secure a song publishing deal with EMI. Soon thereafter, the pair began accumulating writing and performance credits on soundtracks and through songs recorded by various recording artists. With their platinum-selling, Grammy-winning debut album, Thankful, Mary Mary hit a homerun, due in large part to the broad success of its first single, “Shackles (Praise You),” in 2000. Their sophomore follow-up, Incredible, was released in 2002 and was certified gold, before the group released such hits as “Heaven,” “The Real Party,” and “Yesterday” on their self-titled album, Mary Mary (2005), which peaked at No. 8 on the Billboard 200. Their success continued with the release of an acclaimed holiday project, A Mary Mary Christmas, in 2006. It is Mary Mary’s The Sound (2008), however, that sparked Mary Mary’s best mainstream success to date, bowing at No. 7 on the Billboard 200 and No. 2 on the publication’s R&B/hip-hop chart, as well as garnering numerous awards for the album, and for its record-breaking single “God In Me.” Yet with their tremendous accomplishments, the sisters are quick to point out that they’re driven by something far greater--“It’s not just about musical achievements, awards, charts and sales,” says Erica. “That’s not our guiding light. It’s about connecting with people and offering them real hope…hope that, ultimately, changes lives.” “We’re committed to our message and purpose,” adds Tina. “Years later, we’re still here; our fans are still with us and our audience is still growing. We’re just so grateful to still have this opportunity.” Showcasing their signature crystalline harmonies, Mary Mary raises goosebumps on the striking “It Is Well.” Produced by Warryn Campbell, the a cappella track quietly soars as the song confidently declares, “I’ve had more than my share of pain/Still I believe that all things will work out for my good/It is well with me.” CITY: Maryland

A Taste of... When did you first realize that you wanted to be in the entertainment/media field? Beat Ya Feet started as a local group performing in our hometown Washington, D.C. for school and functions around the city. As our popularity and support expanded we realized that our gifts could be useful on a national platform which is the entertainment industry. Did anyone encourage you along the way (family, friends, mentor, ect)? And how so? If not, where did you pull inspiration from? Well, all of us members have children so they serve as our inspiration as well as the fans who supported us from the beginning and want to see us go further. How old were you when you officially booked your first gig, paying or non paying? The original members of Beat Ya Feet Kings were officially booked while still teenagers and have even performed on Showtime at the Apollo in New York City. Tell us of a time you may have messed up during a gig? (could be on stage, on set, filming, ect) How did you recover? We had the opportunity to be cast on MTV's America's Best Dance Crew which was a first for us so it was a learning experience as well as an adjustment process so there were a few bumps, but we got through it. How would you explain your swag/style. Our style is upbeat, energetic and positive. We as a group love to please our audience and use our gifts for the glory of God. When you are creating, what puts you in that mood? (certain music, atmosphere, ect) Definitely, music. That's what get our creative juices flowing and allow us to get more creative.

A Taste of... When you are creating, what puts you in that mood? (certain music, atmosphere, ect) Definitely, music. That's what get our creative juices flowing and allow us to get more creative. Who do you compare yourself to? Well, there are various dance crews , but we are original. Our dance style was originated out of D.C. and it can not be duplicated. What is the high light of your career? Some career highlights has been performing at The Howard Theatre as well as feature highlights in "The Baltimore Times" as well as "The Washington Post" publications. What was the hardest part of your career? What got you through? The hardest part is trying to advance to the next level and book a gig where we all are compensated so that we can provide for our families. Persistence and determination is what keeps us going. Give us a few pointers on breaking into the biz. Three things to do. Make as many people aware about your talents as possible, network and be open to feedback, but always remain humble. Three things not to do. Do not boast, let others sing your praises. Three unknown things about you. Our members have changed over the years, but all dancers have been loyal and dedicated to the craft. The best way your fans can keep in touch. Facebook, Instagram as well as Youtube.

A Taste of... For a man who has declared that he may at any moment cease making music to concentrate fully on his passion for ministering, Donnie McClurkin can never stay away long from recording profoundly uplifting music for the soul. The evidence: his latest collection We All Are One (Live in Detroit) - his breathlessly anticipated first music recording in five years! Along for the momentous celebration are very special guests CeCe Winans, Yolanda Adams, Mary Mary and Karen Clark-Sheard. Once again, Donnie, his singers and musicians share the joy of God’s bounty - live before an on-fire congregation where platinum-plus Pastor McClurkin’s vocal and testimonial gifts have always shined their brightest. “I decided to record in Detroit after much prayer. I put a lot of thought into the cities we record,” Donnie shares. “My mentor Andrae Crouch made one of his best CDs live in London, so I did the same thing some 20 years afterwards (resulting in the platinum Live in London…and More CD which included Donnie’s now classic anthem “We Fall Down”). I recorded my CD Again in California because my first time ever being given a platform in someone else’s church was 1982 in Los Angeles at West Angeles Church of God and Christ. Recording in Detroit this time goes without saying because that’s home! I was there for 13 years and was a charter member at Perfecting Church which was founded by Marvin Winans. Even with Detroit’s tough transitions and hard situations, the church has always been the mainstay that holds everything together. By bringing this recording to Detroit and bringing the churches together there, we can aid in the healing of that city.” The themes of the 12-song We All Are One are of unity and tolerance. Donnie explains, “Jesus said, ‘A house divided against itself cannot stand,’ yet we remain disconnected: Republicans and Democrats, Blacks, Whites, Yellows and Browns, Baptists and Methodists, Lutherans and Episcopalians… Where is the unity? Coming from a religious background, I was taught to judge harshly, but my thinking now is, ‘Let God do the judging so that I may learn how to love and understand the ways in which we are all connected.’ I believe that lesson of compassion and fellowship will ultimately be learned by the young ones coming behind me. For my song ‘We All Are One,’ I brought in Asaph Ward – one of the greatest producers in gospel music – and we came up with a ‘World Beat’ to unite the masses. At the end of the song, adult voices fade into children’s voices singing, ‘We all are one in The Lord,’ driving home the point that you have to come to Him as a child.” We All Are One (Live in Detroit) is a boldly eclectic collection from McClurkin, moving from the powerfully opener “Trusting in You” and the lilting call and response vibe of “You Are My God and King” (featuring a playful battle of the choir sections on the “Reprise”) to the soul-soothing “Let the River Flow” and a duet with the ever-amazing Karen Clark-Sheard for “Wait on The Lord.” Donnie enthuses, “On ‘I Choose to Be Dancing,’ we incorporated many different feels - hard rock with the guitars and strings for the culture sound, but we kept the rhythm section urban. And on my praise and worship ‘Halleujah Song’ - which God gave me on a Sunday. CITY: Copiague, Ny SKILL: Christian Recording Artist's

A Taste of... when we were all up in church praying - the idea of praising God in a succession of different languages just came to me at the last second! We sing in Dutch, Spanish and the African language Yoruba. Oshe ba ba means ‘Thank you, Father.’ ” Among the most profound songs on We All Are One is the piano and strings meditation “All We Ask,” on which Donnie weaves the testimonies of three different people, verse by verse, immortalizing them in song. Donnie explains, “The first verse is about a young man who came to me trying to find his place in life, the second verse is from my personal story, and the last verse is about my older sister Olivia, who was dying at the time that I wrote the song. She is now deceased. I wouldn’t let anyone else play the piano on it because I knew exactly how I wanted the music to be interpreted, but when my sister passed I did not have the strength to use my voice. So I turned ‘All We Ask’ into a feature for my background singers who have been with me faithfully since 1996 (in order of appearance: Duwane Starling; Donnie’s younger sister Andrea Mellini; Sherry Maghee and Nancey Jackson –Johnson).

An undeniable standout is “When You Love” which transcends the church to speak about love on an earthly plane. “That’s one of my favorites,” Donnie shares. “We must remember that God didn’t just make us spirit. He made us body, mind and spirit. The song is inspirational - derived from the gospel - but based solely on love…how to love, what to do when you love, how to act when you’re in love… It lifts men and women out of the lust that’s all over the radio and into commitment, romance, even respecting your elders – the whole gamut! I had to get the ladies CeCe and Yolanda, along with Erica and Tina of Mary Mary, to help me. It’s a beautiful song without any risqué, ambiguous or alternative messages. This is simply about the heart of God and how He wants us to learn to love purely.” McClurkin’s pure love for the Lord has grown through crippling adversity that ultimately fortified his faith ten-fold. Born November 9, 1959, in Amityville, New York, his childhood home was mired in domestic violence and drug abuse until an aunt who sang with the great Andrae’ Crouch introduced him to the musical icon who in turn introduced him to his future. Young Donnie played keyboards with his church youth choir before forming the McClurkin Singers with relatives and friends in 1979. Following a calling to preach, he never loosened his grasp on music. In 1989 Donnie started the NY Restoration Choir and recorded the album I See A World, which contained the classic “Speak to My Heart.” Two near-simultaneous events changed McClurkin’s life forever. Just as he was appointed as an associate minister at Marvin Winans’ Perfecting Church in Detroit, he also learned that he’d been stricken with CITY: Copiague, Ny leukemia. While battling the disease, Donnie was signed to Warner Alliance Records as a solo artist where

Buffalo, NY native, Alexis Spight has skyrocketed in the past few months after being crowned the 1st runner up in BET’s highly successful reality television series, Sunday Best. The 19 year old “preacher’s kid” has wowed audiences nationwide with her vocal ability, distinctive style, signature red hair and transparent sincerity. The singer auditioned for the series in St.Louis with thousands of other hopefuls and almost did not complete the audition for fear of not measuring up. Spight admits, “When I got there I was discouraged because there were two or three thousand people ahead of me in line,” Even as she advanced round by round in the competition, she shares, “there were times I would call my mom and dad and say ‘I can’t do this, I don’t know what’s going to happen, everybody’s so talented…’” Still she pressed on and it’s clear to all that Spight had exactly what it took to go all the way. Spight made it to the culminating round with the final two out of over 15,000 competitors. Spight was raised in the church where her father and current manager, Allen Spight was the pastor. Spight has been singing since the young age of three with her mother, Michelle Spight. They later traveled around the state of New York with her siblings as a singing group called the Spight Sisters. Her great-grandmother recalls how Spight sang from an early age. "Whenever she was in the house she would be singing all daylong. She would get up in the morning singing. I guess it payed off." Spight has shared the stage with gospel grates such as John P Kee, Kierra Sheard, Kim Burrell, Mali Music and more. She is a singer/songwriter and serves as the praise and worship leader at her Kansas City church where she currently resides. Spight debut CD LOL (Live Out Loud) is in stores now and recently was #1 on Billboard Charts. Alexis is under the management of Greg "Uncle G" Lyons with Uncle G Promotions and Entertainment (www.unclegpromo.com). Spight has taken her place in the gospel music industry and has positioned herself as one to watch. CITY:

A Taste of... My name is Lamicka Adams also known as Micka or Mrs. America. I was born in Charlottesville Virginia on November 02, 1989 to a single mother. Growing up was a test for me. At the age two my mother gave custody of me to my grandmother. My grandmother raised me for eleven years. In those eleven years I experienced love, pain, neglect, mental and physical abuse, rape, God, music, dance, art, love, hate. I was also blessed with Lois Sandy, a lifelong friend who played a major role on my life. She helped me with my reading, my English, my life. She brought excitement to my life throughout the times with my dysfunctional family. She is definitely heaven sent. I was an A, B, grade average student in school. I received free lunch. I did not get into any trouble because I loved school. It was like a getaway for me. I grew up in Parks and Rec eating free meals. I graduated from Charlottesville High school in year 2008 with an Advance Studies diploma. I am now a student at Piedmont Virginia Community College. I am currently studying Radiology.

I thought life for me was going to be amazing but...

When I turned fourteen, my mother came to my rescue and got custody back. We moved to Fredericksburg Virginia. I thought life for me was going to be amazing but it wasn’t always because of our dysfunctional family. So at the age seventeen I left. I was out on my own. At this time I was a senior in high school and working full-time at a gas station. I was also attending church services when I could. I continued this out for about a year until I moved back to Charlottesville and met my soul mate. We we’re engaged six months after meeting and married two years after meeting. We struggle together but it felt good to know that God sent me someone to comfort me as I go through life’s changes. Together we’ve experienced homelessness, hatred, joy, love, peace, happiness and I could go on for days. Together we have two handsome baby boys that God has blessed us with. We are now on a journey together to seek God. CITY: Charlottesville VA SKILL: Christian Recording Artist's

A Taste of... My name is Anthony Adams also known as Tony or Tony Testimony. I was born it Charlottesville Virginia August 04, 1982 to a single mother. i am a product of a single parent home with one sister. I made a vow to myself that if I ever had children I would be a better father than my father was. Growing up was a blessing to me. My family did not have much money but my mother did everything she could to make it work. My mother worked long hours at her job which left school, music, basketball and the streets my teacher. Not having a father also played its part. I took on to any older man figure that cared about me. In school I was a c grade average student. I received free lunch. I did not get in to much trouble in school. I grew up in Parks and Rec eating free meals. I was also one of the first children to sign up for the Boys and Girls Club. The Boys and Girls club kept me off the streets when I was a child. There I met a man named Mark Briggs. He became my idol. He taught me everything I know about basketball. I graduated in the year 2000 with a Charlottesville High School diploma. I have an entrepreneur diploma through Community Investment Collaborative.

Anthony Adams also known as Tony or Tony Testimony

My love for making music began when I was fourteen years old. Seven of my good friends and I started a music group named “Merevedi”. began performing at talent shows and other events. We were attending the Music Resource Center and the Boys and Girls Club on adaily bases. We had some good times until we were out of high school and could not attend anymore. This led us to hanging in the streets. The streets had no problem consuming me. The streets and temptations landed me in jail. The streets chewed me up and spit me out as a felon striving to survive.

We

Not having a father also played its part. I took on to any older man figure that cared about me. I became an entrepreneur because no job wants to hire a felon. At least that’s what I thought. A friend introduced me to the taxi business. One day while working in the taxi cab I picked up a fare that changed my life forever. I picked up a beautiful young lady who has never left my side. We are now on a journey together to seek God. Where do I see myself 5 years from now? 5 Years from now I see myself owning a fleet of Store Trucks, owning a couple other small businesses, and Micka and I running the Outreach Center. I also plan to step into Real Estate and stocks and bonds. What are my goals? My goal in life is to help as many children that I can and to seek Christ. A Taste of... Tony and Micka were about six months into their relationship when they discovered that they are entrepreneurs. Tony worked for a taxi service using his own car. He was in an accident and received a check for the damages to his car. They went and bought a fourteen foot box truck. They decided that the truck was going to be a Store Truck, a mobile convenience store on wheels, selling packaged goods. “Why go to the store, when the store can come to your door? The two have experienced life changing events. One main problem they have noticed is that the children need their help. They are now trying to get an outreach center for Charlottesville Virginia. They want to pick up the children that they have made relationships with and the ones who are hanging out in the inner Charlottesville area on a day to day base. They will have a center for the kids to go to build there selves up. Ways such as homework time, education time, and free-time, career building and more. They also want to teach the kids how to give back and live a positive lifestyle. They also started a business in 5Linx because they hope to gain financial freedom.

Music for us is like medication to our marriage. We give God all the glory and honor through music. Our music is also like medicine to our fans.
