Hello From…

Columbia- “¡Hola!”

Hola in English simply means hello. It is the most common greeting on this list and can be used anywhere at any time. In some places in Latin America, the younger generation like to say “buenas” , which is another common way of saying hello in Spanish! Standard practice is for men and women to greet women with a cheek kiss to the left. Men usually greet other men with a handshake.

The Netherlands- “Hallo”

If you want to say hi in Dutch, you would simply say “hoi".

The more formal hello is “hallo". Regional varieties of “hi” include “heuj", “alo” and “huijj” but sticking to “hoi” or “hallo” is generally all you need. The common greeting in the Netherlands is a handshake along with a nod of the head. This form of address is usually short. Among friends and family, it is common to greet one another by kissing on alternating cheeks three times. Take both your hands out of your pockets if you shake someone's hand.

China- “nǐ hǎo”

Handshakes are the standard, casual greeting. The grip tends to be lighter than the Western handshake and is also sustained for longer. In formal situations, people bow slightly or nod politely to greet one another formally.

Antarctica -”Zdravstvuyte” or “Hello”

The most commonly spoken language of Antarctica is Russian, but English is also one of the most widespread languages spoken. You can find English spoken in the Balleny Islands, New South Greenland, Eduarda, etc.

Australia- “G’day”

The most common verbal greeting is a simple “Hey”, “Hello”, or “Hi”. Some people may use Australian slang and say “G'day” or “G'day mate”. However, this is less common in cities. Many Australians greet by saying “Hey, how are you?”

Kenya- “Hujambo”

The most common greeting among those who speak Swahili is 'Hujambo' ('Hello') or the more colloquial greeting of 'Jambo'. Both greetings can be responded with the phrase 'sijambo', which means 'I am well'.

Other common greetings in contemporary Kenya include 'sasa' or 'Mambo'.

Getting Around

Budapest is a great city for exploring, and there are a variety of ways to get around without breaking the bank. Here are some tips for getting around Budapest on a budget: Public Transportation: The public transportation system in Budapest is extensive and very affordable. Bus, tram, and metro lines cover the entire city, with tickets available from machines at each station. Single-journey tickets cost 350 HUF (about €1 or $1.07 usd) or you can purchase day passes that can be used on multiple trips.

Taxis: Taxis are another popular way to get around Budapest, and the fares are very reasonable. The minimum fare starts at 600 HUF (around €2 or $2.13 usd), and additional km are around 300 HUF (€1 or $1.07usd). It’s best to book online or use a reputable taxi company to ensure you get an honest rate.

Cycling: Cycling is a popular mode of transportation in Budapest, thanks to the wide bike paths and lanes that crisscross the city. You can easily rent a bike from one of the many rental stations scattered around town or join a guided bike tour for a more comprehensive experience.

And finally, no trip to Budapest would be complete without a soak in one of its many thermal baths. Choose from Szechenyi Baths, Gellert Baths, or Lukacs Baths – just make sure to bring your swimsuit!

When you’re in Budapest, there are so many delicious options to explore! From traditional Hungarian dishes to more modern flavors, the city has something for every type of palate.

Here are some of the must-try foods and drinks when visiting Budapest: Traditional Hungarian Dishes:

Cookin up some Goulash . . .

Ingredients 2 medium onions 2 teaspoons butter or lard (preferred) 1 teaspoon caraway seeds 2 tablespoons paprika ¼ cup flour ½ pound stewing beef trimmed and cut into 1” cubes 2 cups beef broth or water 1 cup diced tomatoes canned 1 teaspoon salt ¼ teaspoon pepper Optional 1 ½ cup carrots optional 3 cups potatoes optional Mashed potatoes Rice Spaetzle Instructions • In a large pot, melt butter and add onion. Cook till tender. Stir in caraway seeds and paprika and mix well.

• In a bowl, cover the stew beef with flour. Add the beef to the onion mixture and cook for about 2-3 minutes.

• Slowly add about ¼ cup of the beef broth to lift the brown bits off the bottom of the pan. Then add the remaining beef broth, diced tomatoes (potatoes and carrots if using), salt and pepper.

• Stir and bring to a boil, cover, then reduce to a simmer for about 1 ½ -2 hours or until tender.

Tantalize Your Taste Buds with Hungarian Goulash

If you ever visit Hungary or go to a Hungarian restaurant, it will be very difficult to avoid goulash. This is because goulash is perhaps the most popular Hungarian dishes in that area. Classic Goulash is a hearty and warm stew filled with beef, paprika, onions, bell peppers, carrots, and potatoes.

If chopped potato isn’t your thing then some other popular choices to serve your goulash is buttered egg noodles called Csipetke, which is the Hungarian word for spaetzle. Also, good to serve with goulash is any kind of small pasta, mashed potatoes, dumplings, rice or bread to mop up the delicious sauce.

Everyone seems to have their own way of preparing this dish. Regardless, Hungarian Goulash is very different from an American Goulash stew which

Chicago, Illinois: Who Has the Best Pizza

When it comes to food, pizza is one of the most beloved dishes around the world. Every city has its own unique spin on the classic Italian staple, but cities , Like Columubus, Ohio and Chicago, Illinois, often go head-tohead to figure out “who does it best”. Both cities have a unique style and approach to pizza and offer some of the best pizzerias in the country, so it’s hard to decide who takes the cake when it comes to the best pizza.

After conducting a survey compromised of the biggest pizza eaters in the Midwest, we have compared the two cities to see who really has the best pizza.

A Tale of Two Cities For pizza lovers, the debate of which city makes the best pie is an age-old one. On one side, you have Columbus a city known for its thin-crust edgeto-edge toppings.On the other side, there’s Chicago home to deep-dish pizza, a world-renowned classic. So which city has the best pizza? To answer this question, we conducted an online survey, asking participants, “ who does it best”. We asked tasters to rate their experience on a scale from 1-10 in terms of flavor, texture, and overall satisfaction.

The Results After conducting an online survey of both pizza scenes in Columbus, Ohio, and Chicago, Illinois, we can confidently say that the city that has the best pizza is... drumroll, please... Columbus, Ohio!

To be fair, there are some amazing pizza places in both cities. But when it comes to traditional-style pizzas made with quality ingredients and expert craftsmanship, Columbus takes the cake.

Eat to Live Don’t Live to Eat. Written By: THURSTON BILAL Health is your greatest wealth.

After traveling to over 50 countries and observing how people live and interact with nature, I have seen the same problem to different degrees, no matter what your status is in the public, private, political, business, or any other category of people. The most important thing is your health; because when your health is bad, nothing else matters.

What is the problem?

What is the problem? We are victims of the wrong food, food that is not designed for our bodies. Your body is your temple, made perfectly in our individual imperfection by the Creator, but just like your car, if you put diesel fuel in a regular fuel engine, it won’t run. The body is more complex than that and amazing, but what is the fuel for the body? Indigenous edible and medicinal plants, most of the time. The food that we’re eating is often processed, packaged, hybrid, man-made food with chemical additives, preservatives, flavorings, colorings, synthesized to look and taste good, but is it good for you in the final analysis?

No, it is the reason for disease. Most of the time, the only time we want to make changes is after we get a diagnosis, or we’re overweight and we want to lose weight, or when something’s wrong. But what about the prevention of disease?

How do you do it?

We must go back to the things that God created - eat fresh fruits and vegetables with seeds, natural indigenous, non-hybrid nuts, and grains. To find out what these are, look up the indigenous edible and medicinal plants in your country or state. Drink plenty of good water and avoid drinks full of sugar, carbonation, colorings, and additives. Eat to live, don’t live to eat, and try to drink at least half your body weight in ounces of water every day.

Additionally, get some exercise every day - even just taking a walk for 20 minutes - as it goes a long way for prevention and the overall health of your body.

“Sakura” is his fifth fulllength solo album

Takumi made his recording debut in 2000, in which he was the drummer for a band called Siren. His career continued to grow and blossom through producing and songwriting. His work can also be heard in numerous anime TV series as he composes and produces the music for many.

Prior to Takumi’s win, other Japanese artists have taken home Grammys in other categories. The most recent Japanese Grammy win was in 2016 when conductor Seiji Ozawa and the Saito Kinen Orchestra won Best Opera Recording.

The Best Global Music Album is a Grammy award category first awarded in 1992, and awarded for influential music from around the globe, the first going to Mickey Hart for “Planet Drum”. The category has undergone some changes in the just over 30 years of existence, but the ultimate goal has always been to recognize work representing a more global range of music and musical talent. Recognition for global music by the Grammys continues to grow as in 2022 Best Global Musical Performance was added as a new category.

5 Essential Tips for Traveling Abroad

out of the United States so traveling abroad was an exciting opportunity for both of us to see another part of the world. I did quite a bit of research before out trip to Germany and Italy, but there are some things about traveling Internationally that I figured out on my own.

Between charging your phone, plugging in hair dryers, curling iron’s, laptops, ipads and more, you will need a few of them. It wouldn’t hurt to pack a small power strip as well so you can plug in multiple items at once.

For long days of exploration, bring a portable phone charger as well.

Tip Appropriately

On our travels to Germany and Italy, we received good service pretty much every place we went. We were surprised, however at the response we received whenever we offered a monetary tip to our service providers. Not every country has the same customs when it comes to tipping, so it is safe to find out what they are before your travels.

Save time!

After almost 3 weeks abroad and a very long flight back to the United States, the LAST thing we wanted to do was stand in a long line to go through customs once we returned home. But that’s exactly what we faced. As we stood in a very long line, I noticed other passengers going into a different queue (with no line) and basically walking right up to the customs agent and passing through quickly. After a little investigation, I realized that that line was designated for passengers returning into the United States who had simply downloaded an app on their smartphone, which allowed them to input their passport info and customs declarations information and breeze right through the process.

The CBP Mobile Passport Control App

CBP’s MPC app is a free application that can be downloaded from the Apple App store and Google Play and is currently available for eligible travelers to use upon arrival at MPC approved sites.

Take this with you: Every new experience will involve some trial and error, especially for first time international travelers. Take any mishaps that happen along the way in stride and just know that you are gaining very valuable experience for the next time you take off.
