Whenveryyoung,Prof.Dr.TheosfoundJacksonPollock's artisticstyleparticularlyimpressive,whichmadeastrong impressiononhim Itwasperhapsthisencounterwhich ledProf Dr Theostotraininartsandpaintingwithafocus onAbstractExpressionism.
Healsocollaboratedwithmanygreatsofactionpainting andAbstractExpressionismlikeWillemdeKooning,John Cordell,Anatoletaltocreatemasterpieceswhichhave foundalotofinternationalrecognitionandadmiration.
Heattendedoneoftheprestigiousartschoolsinthe NetherlandsknownastheAcademyfortheArt(later namedafteranalumnusandfamousartist,Willemde Kooning)from1963to1967 HealsostudiedattheRoyal AcademyofFineArts,AntwerpinBelgiumbetween1967 and1971;andtheArtAcademyDusseldorf,Germanyin 1974and1975,withJosephBeuysandAnatol.
Healsostartedparttimestudiesinpsychologythe followingyear THEOSmetthegreatactionpainterWillem deKooningin1971andwasstruckwithhisadmiration.It wasthebeginningofhisjourneyintotheworldofabstract artwhichfeaturedmainlyingesturalpaintings,gestural abstractionandabstractimpressionism Thisassociation andadmirationhelpedTHEOSdevelopastrongartistic appetiteforActionPainting.

Ashestartedgettingmoreandmore creative,heparticipatedinindividual andgroupexhibitionsaroundtheworld withhisuniqueartworks.
Hisindividualandgroupexhibitionshave beenheldinBrussels,Antwerp (Belgium),Paris(France),Düsseldorf, Berlin(Germany),Ibiza(Spain),London (England),Malmo(Sweden),Heeswijk, DenHaag,Eindhoven,Rotterdam (Netherlands),LosAngeles,NewYork (USA)andBarcelona(Spain).

New York Awarded a lifelong visiting professorship at the Columbia University, New York City.
Riga Visiting professorship, Action Painting, at the Art Academy of Latvia.
Bangui Appointment as Professor Vice Rector and Dean of the Faculty of Arts at ATAFOM University International, Central African Republic.

Atall,slimmanofinternationalrenown,slenderwithsensuallipsandfieryeyesandyetwith atransparent,glassyandfragilepersonality,THEOSwaslovedforhiseccentric elegant charisma,hischarm,humourandspirit.Andinturn,helovedwomen-seventimesmarried, sixtimesdivorced,oncewidowed,severalchildrenandyetthesearchfortheperfectmuse seemedneverending.

Mr Yavuzwasveryimpressedbytheart ofProf.Dr.THEOSandheboughtmany ofhisworks.Thiswasalsothe beginningofadeepfriendshipand camaraderiewhichstoodthetestof timeandstayedstrong.Mr.Yavuznot onlysupportedhisfriendTHEOS financiallybutalsowithcreative expertisewhereverhecould.
AllthiswhileTHEOScontinuedhisbattle
withLungCancerandinDecember 2007ittookaturnfortheworse.Athis request,hisfriendMr.Yavuzthensent himbacktoBaliin2010toconquerhis illnessthere. InBali,THEOSregainednewcourageto facelife,newenergyandhecreated excellentnewmasterpiecesthatreflect hisfreshlygainedvitalityinagreatway.

Theloveforteachingandcharity broughtTHEOSandMr.Yavuzcloser togetherandthecurrentcollaboration fortheDepartmentofFineArtsinthe FacultyofArtsattheATAFOM Universitywasforged.
Thetrainingandcurriculumofthe programmeatATAFOMUniversityare gearedtowardsachievingtheidealsof Prof.Dr.THEOSsuchthatithelpsthe buddingartistsprojecttheirartwork beyondthehumdrumlifeandsocietal mediocrity.

LikeeveryotherActionPainter,Prof. THEOSbelievedthisgenreofartsgives theartistcompletefreedomfor creativitytothrivetherebymakingthe actofpaintingmoreimportantthan theworkitself.Thecanvasbecomesa tooltofeastonratherthanforthe displayoftangibleimages.
TheactionhasfadedoutofTHEOS’ handsashebowstothecoldnessof deathbutthepowerofimpressionand theactioninhispaintingswilldwell withallthosewhocomeincontactwith hispersonalityandworks.THEOSwill beforeverrememberedbyallofusfor hiswell-executedartisticworksand thepivotalroleheplayedinthe establishmentofATAFOMUniversity.
