We estimate that over 125 million plastic drinks bottles are thrown away in England's secondary schools every year, that’s on average 35,000 bottles per school. Whilst some of this is recycled, the vast majority will needlessly end up in landfill taking hundreds of years to break down, polluting our rivers, and oceans with microplastics as it does.

So what is the solution?

Just consider if your students provided their own reusable drinks bottles and were able to refill them in the dining room with a school compliant, 1 of your 5 a day fruity water drink. It really is that simple!
We encourage you to join us on a journey to remove plastic bottles from the school’s waste streams; creating a more sustainable catering service, improved climate change outcomes and a sense of school community achievement.
Small steps create big outcomes if we all work together!

Machines cost £3,095 each plus VAT and require a 15mm mains fed water supply and a 13 Amp plug socket.
Students purchase a token from the school dining room and use the token to obtain their drink.
The Sustainability Station vending machine is British made and token operated although cashless platforms can be built in at an additional cost depending on your provider but average at £850 plus VAT per machine.
Alternatively they can be leased for approx. £115 plus VAT per month (excluding cashless conversion) over 36 months

The recommended selling price for a 330ml drink is 90p
